My savage sister

Chapter 2: Chapter 02: Tenth year

When Pascal Lee returned from buying cigarettes, the temperature in the car was already minus zero. The heater was off.

Cherry Adams leaned silently against the window, and Jasper Lee took the cigarette pack and opened it to take a drag.

It was getting late and it looked like it was going to rain. The rush hour traffic in Seoul was terrible. There was a gridlock inside the second ring road. Cherry Adams was impatient and wished she was driving. Jasper Lee was a slow driver and had been cut off three times in the last 200 meters. He didn't seem to be in any hurry, sipping on his cigarette and leaving the window half open to let in some air. Cherry Adams was so annoyed that she asked for a cigarette as well and opened the window all the way.

The cold wind blew into the car.

Pascal Lee was shivering with cold.

The 24-year-old Pascal Lee was the only one who didn't smoke.

Many years ago, the living room of the old house had a no-smoking sign.

Back then, Jasper Lee and Cherry Adams argued about nothing more than quitting smoking. Jasper Lee had not been well as a child and had a chronic illness that made him prone to catching colds when the seasons changed. Cherry Adams smoked in the living room and refused to go outside, making Pascal Lee cry with the smoke.

Stop smoking, stop smoking, it is impossible to stop smoking.

Cherry Adams refused to quit, but finally gave in.

The smoking cessation agreement was written by Jasper Lee and posted by Cherry Adams.

Smoking is the devil, smoking is the ghost, smoke one less cigarette, be healthy every day.

Now it seems that only Pascal Lee has not broken the contract.

"Can you drive?" When Cherry Adams sees Jasper Lee being cut off again by another car, she is so worried that she wants to jump up and down: "Get in the passenger seat, let me drive.

They turn off the engine and switch places in front of the car.

Jasper Lee stubs out her cigarette.

"You're looking for death..." Cherry Adams left the courtesy on the highway.

She felt much better behind the wheel, so she turned on the stereo.

Pascal Lee's Volvo was filled with popular rap hits. It's so loud," Cherry Adams threw down her phone and said, "Change my playlist.

Pascal Lee obediently took it and plugged it into the car.

The first song is the DJ version of Big Boss.

"True words, false words

"Can't compare to this sentence

"This phrase I want to tell you every day

"Do I love you, do I miss you

"Like a love fool

"This is my answer without hesitation

Pascal Lee didn't listen for a few seconds and immediately covered his face: "Sister, what kind of old people's taste in music do you have? My grandfather wouldn't even listen to this playlist."

"Your grandfather can't listen to it either." Cherry Adams turned up the volume, "You'll know when you're my age, it's full of energy."

Cherry Adams felt energized listening to the oldies, nodding her head to the rhythm, the SUV in her hands driving as smoothly as a Mini Cooper.

She just plugged in left and right, the high decibel singing blocking out the angry curses of the other drivers, leaving only her passionate singing voice.

  "Roses and jasmine

Ask me what kind of flowers I like

and it turns out you are the flower in my heart."

Cherry Adams has been driving for over ten years and is an experienced driver. She is the kind of person you can fall asleep next to, but she is also fun to be awake with. For example, they are about to go under the overpass, and as is the rule in the world of drivers, if you have a grudge, you have to settle it. The driver who passed them a few minutes ago is catching up.

"You see, I believe in your evil!" The driver rolled down his window and said in Wuhan dialect, "You think your life isn't short enough?"

Cherry Adams also rolled down her window, but not to argue, but to play her song. She gestured passionately.

"To love is to beat, and to scold is to love. If you have any complaints, just yell at me."

The driver was amused: This driver is quite skilled.

That's the way it is in Wuhan: drivers don't let each other pass, the quality of people on the street is like that of a dog, and everyone does their best to get a parking space.

Of course, the locals are also honest and simple, often smoking a cigarette when they have something to discuss, or having a drink when they don't. Conflicts come quickly, but they also go quickly.

Cherry Adams was born in Hubei.

Jasper Lee and Pascal Lee are from Beijing.

Probably because they did not have the same mother.

In fact, they are not even from the same father.

Until Jasper Lee's phone rings, Cherry Adams quickly turns down the volume. Despite all the bickering, he is the one who makes the most money.

After parking the car downstairs at the restaurant, Jasper Lee also hung up the phone. Cherry Adams, a social outcast, couldn't understand what they were talking about.

Cherry Adams is an unemployed young woman whose motto is "Why work when I can be rich? Of the two younger brothers and one sister in the Lee family, the one who has achieved the most is actually Pascal Lee, who has not done well academically and, of course, is not on the right track.

Pascal Lee was discovered by a local team when he was 16 years old because of his good online game and started playing in the league. He is now a successful professional player. Cherry Adams was the one who opposed him the most for not studying and playing games at a young age, but now she tells everyone that her brother is an e-sports champion.

Even more impressive is Jasper Lee, the owner of a publicly traded company in Beijing. She is not sure what is going on in the business world, but she has noticed that the brothers are earning less and less every year, and even though she can live a comfortable life for the rest of her life, she has decided to lie down and relax.

So Cherry Adams has just returned from Tibet.

She has not tanned much, but she has lost a lot of weight.

"Sister, eat more," says Pascal Lee, helping her to eat.

"This is enough to eat," Cherry Adams said, unable to eat any more.

Cherry Adams and Pascal Lee are sister and brother-in-law. But many years ago, it wasn't Pascal Lee who could maintain a superficial harmony with her, but Jasper Lee. Jasper Lee was so obedient, he didn't smoke or talk back, and Cherry Adams liked him much better most of the time.

When did Jasper Lee become such a loser?

Cherry Adams couldn't figure it out, no matter how hard she tried.

Jasper Lee didn't move his chopsticks much and watched this scene of joy and harmony coldly. After a while, he left the private room to make a phone call and pay the bill.

When he returned, Cherry Adams and Pascal Lee were still reminiscing and talking in fits and starts. Mostly Cherry Adams was asking and Pascal Lee was answering.

It was a bit like a parent questioning a child.

"If I don't say something, don't take it lightly," she said, which usually meant she was about to say something. "Find a partner while you still can, don't be like your brother who is still single at your age. He's lucky to be born in modern times, in ancient times people would think he was a eunuch."

In the past, whenever this topic came up, Pascal Lee would laugh and say, "You haven't even started talking yet, so why am I in such a hurry? But this time he was unexpectedly silent, and the gentle, bright expression in his eyes was tinged with hesitation.

But it was more than hesitation.

Cherry Adams had raised him for so many years, and she could tell right away that something was wrong with him: "Do you have someone you like?"

I guess so. Pascal Lee nodded in agreement, "Yes."

"What kind of girl? Where does she work? Is she local?"

That was the only good news he heard that day.

Pascal Lee smiled, "Sister, don't ask so many questions."

"Okay, okay," Cherry Adams beamed, "you young people can talk about whatever you want, I won't interfere." She said she wouldn't interfere, but the next second she couldn't wait to suggest, "It's almost New Year's Eve, if you have a good relationship, hurry up and bring her back so I can meet her!"

"Let's talk about it later."

Pascal Lee had something on his mind, but Cherry Adams couldn't tell, and Jasper Lee probably couldn't either.

He lowered his eyes and thought, then suddenly smiled as if a cloud had parted and the moon was in sight.

After dinner, the three of them drove back to their new home on the river.

Cherry Adams' luggage was at the post office, and her younger brothers helped carry it.

This is one of the advantages of having children. When you're away from home, you don't have to do everything yourself. Cherry Adams walked briskly, happy today, having had a few drinks. Jasper Lee and Pascal Lee followed behind, watching their sister's back.

"Brother, this time, since she's back, don't make her angry again," Pascal Lee advised sincerely, "She's always away and only stays with us during the New Year. No matter how much you don't like her, it's only a matter of a few less harsh words.

Jasper Lee's answer was not sincere, and Pascal Lee thought about it for a while and didn't push him. They've been through so many years, what else can happen?

Isn't that how it is with siblings?

No matter what happens, they have to sit at the same table to eat.

The new house was purchased seven or eight years ago. Cherry Adams made the down payment, but Pascal Lee is the one who makes the mortgage payments. Her name is on the deed, but she rarely lives here except during Chinese New Year. Pascal Lee, on the other hand, often stays here when he gets tired of living at the training base or during his vacations.

Cherry Adams brought Tibetan tea, Kang Brick Tea, and said she wanted to brew it.

Jasper Lee turned to make the bed in the bedroom, but Pascal Lee hastily said no.

"I've already made the bed, I'm just waiting for you to come back for New Year's Eve," Pascal Lee tugged Cherry Adams' arm again, "Sister, don't rush to leave this time, stay a few more days, okay? I just talked to my brother, we won't argue with you."

Cherry Adams pulled back her hand and replied indifferently, thinking to herself, "You've got a lot of nerve telling someone else what to do. If you're willing to talk, they're not necessarily willing to listen.

They made some tea and shared it. Pascal Lee turned on the projector and watched some TV for a while, and when Cherry Adams got tired, she went to bed.

She didn't sleep very soundly.

It seemed as if someone was kissing her in her sleep.

It was a real kiss, on her hands and arms and shoulders. It was cold, like the wax dripping from a candle or the dew from a cave.

Before, Cherry Adams had only felt the heat, the room was heated. But now her body was tingling with a thousand little itchy spots.

Cherry Adams opened her sleepy eyes.

The person before her froze for a few seconds.

Cherry Adams woke up instantly: "Jasper Lee?"

Jasper Lee stood silently beside her bed.

Cherry Adams was furious, "Are you crazy? It's the middle of the night, why are you practicing here instead of sleeping?"

She glared at him, and Jasper Lee, buried in her reproachful gaze, strangely did not argue with her.

Cherry Adams realized something was wrong: "What are you doing? Don't do anything stupid! Pascal Lee is right next door!"

  Jasper Lee, however, smiled dangerously.

He approached her and raised his hand to lift her chin.

A sudden thunderclap rang out in Cherry Adams' chest. She was so angry that she could not find the words to express it, but she was afraid to alarm her ignorant younger brother, so she could only threaten him in a very low voice, "Jasper Lee, are you crazy? I'm your sister! Are you awake or are you talking in your sleep? If you dare..."

Jasper Lee slowly brushed her lips away.

The more it came to this, the more Cherry Adams could not back down. She was the antithesis of Jasper Lee. Her bargaining chips were axioms, ethics and morals, representing the inviolable authority of the head of the family: "Jasper Lee, if you think about it, if you do this kind of thing..."

Jasper Lee did not hesitate to kiss her.

Cherry Adams felt the sky fall.

Her lips were forced open and she felt the breath of a stranger take her soul. He was defiant, and he took her quickly, storming into her mouth.

Cherry Adams was on the verge of a rage: "Jasper Lee!!!"

Jasper Lee gasped, his eyes dull and clouded.

The remaining silver thread broke.

He wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth.

And placed it on the tip of his tongue to taste.

"You are disgusting! You really are disgusting!"

Cherry Adams shook all over.

"I'm disgusting?" Jasper Lee laughed lightly, "Cherry Adams, I'm afraid you don't know yet...Pascal Lee likes you too."

Cherry Adams' eyes were red: "Bullshit! You're talking nonsense!"

"You don't believe me?" Jasper Lee said, "Then let's see."

Cherry Adams pointed at the door and gritted her teeth: "Get out!"

Jasper Lee got up, but reached for the underwear on her nightstand.

"You...!" Cherry Adams reached out to grab it, but he grabbed it instead.

He narrowed his dark eyes and asked, "So you'll take his place tonight?"

Nuts! Cherry Adams jerked her hand back.

Jasper Lee left, and she quickly closed and locked the door.

Cherry Adams' heart still trembled.

She slowly slipped down the door.

The cold rain fell that night.

Feelings took root in the still night.

This was the tenth year that Cherry Adams had raised her two children.

The first hated her for not dying, while the second loved her for not living.
