MY PRINCE HUSBAND HAS SEVEN WIVES AND I AM HIS FAVOURITE!

Chapter 26: What sort of energy do you guys have?

Hua Jing looked at Xia Lin in surprise as the latter hurried into the room.

"What the hell are you doing here?" Hua Jing asked, narrowing her eyes.

Xia Lin stopped mid-step, her expression shifting to one of concern.

"The prince sent me," Xia Lin said quickly. "He said you weren't feeling well, and I should check on you."

Hua Jing blinked, caught off guard by the prince's unexpected thoughtfulness.

"Feeling unwell?" she repeated, tilting her head.

"Yes!" Xia Lin exclaimed as she hurried to Hua Jing's side, her eyes scanning her from head to toe. "Where are you hurt? I heard you were hurt so badly!"

Hua Jing's brows furrowed in confusion.

"So badly?" she echoed. "Where did you hear that from?"

Xia Lin hesitated for a moment, her face flushing slightly.

"Well…" she began, fidgeting with her hands, "I heard it from the palace maids."

Hua Jing leaned back, intrigued by the sudden blush on Xia Lin's cheeks.

"And what exactly did the palace maids say?" Hua Jing asked, her tone light but curious.

Xia Lin's blush deepened as she avoided Hua Jing's gaze.

"They said…" she trailed off, her voice dropping to a whisper.

"They said the prince… was, um…"

Hua Jing's eyes widened, her curiosity piqued.

"Was what?" she pressed, leaning forward slightly.

Xia Lin didn't answer immediately. Instead, she lowered her head and shook it slightly, clearly too embarrassed to continue.

That was all Hua Jing needed.

The puzzle pieces clicked into place, and understanding dawned on her.

Her lips curled into a slow, mischievous smile as she leaned back against the headboard.

Those maids… she thought, amusement gleaming in her eyes.

They had wasted no time in spreading the "news" she had orchestrated with her earlier performance.

She could already imagine the rumors flying through the palace halls.

The prince and the Seventh Consort spent a passionate night together.

The thought made Hua Jing chuckle softly to herself.

Xia Lin looked up at the sound, confusion etched on her face.

"Young Madam?" she asked hesitantly. "Are you okay?"

"Oh, I'm more than okay," Hua Jing replied, her tone light and teasing.

Her gaze drifted toward the destroyed furniture and scattered objects around the room.

Soon, she thought, the entire palace will believe the story. No one will even doubt that I slept with the prince… even though I didn't.

Xia Lin followed Hua Jing's gaze, her eyes widening as she took in the state of the room.

She gasped softly, her hands flying to her mouth.

"What sort of energy did you and the prince have for the room to end up like this?" Xia Lin asked innocently, her voice tinged with shock.

Even though she had asked Hua Jing to ensure she and the prince slept together, wasn't this overdoing things?

They looked like deprived animals!

Hua Jing's amusement grew as she watched Xia Lin's face turn beet red.

Her servant's naivety was almost endearing.

"Well…" Hua Jing began, her voice playful as she crossed her arms. "What can I say? The prince is quite the macho guy!"

"The macho guy?"

Xia Lin asked in surprise.

Hua Jing sighed, "Don't worry, you wouldn't understand!"

Xia Lin's surprise had still not waned, but Hua Jing was talking so strangely that trying to understand everything would take days.

She continued cleaning while Hua Jing sat lost in thought.

Suddenly, something occurred to Hua Jing.

She had been planning to go home after the honeymoon ended, so she turned to Xia Lin and asked, "When do we return to the palace?"

Xia Lin paused her cleaning and looked at Hua Jing.

"After about a week of your honeymoon," she replied.

Hua Jing's face twisted in disgust.

"That long?" she exclaimed.

Xia Lin quickly added, "Most royal honeymoons can take up to two to three weeks, but yours is a little shorter because of the chaos going on in the palace."

"Chaos?" Hua Jing repeated, her tone sharp with curiosity.

Xia Lin nodded.

"You should know about this as well, but since some of your memories are… gone, I can still tell you part of it," she said hesitantly.

Hua Jing leaned forward, her interest piqued.

"The prime minister has been… there are rumors," Xia Lin began cautiously. "Rumors that the prime minister is trying to usurp the throne."

Hua Jing's eyes widened in shock.

"What?"

Xia Lin nodded quickly.

"Yes. There are whispers that he's planning to remove the king and place his own son on the throne," Xia Lin explained. "But for now, they're just rumors. Still, they've caused such instability that the prince is expected to return to the palace soon."

Hua Jing frowned, her curiosity deepening.

"Why is the prince expected to return when the king is still there?" she asked.

Xia Lin straightened and replied, "You might not know this, but the prince is the sole thing holding the empire together."

Hua Jing blinked in surprise.

She had not thought that infuriating man could be of such significance in this world!

Everything about this world still seemed very strange to her.

Every time she learned something new, it was more surprising than the last.

She thought about all the scripts she had worked on in her previous life.

When she did period dramas, most of them were steeped in political intrigue.

It seemed as if this world was no different.

The political instability in such worlds often led to significant losses, including lives.

There was a slight worry etched in her heart for Zhao Yan when she heard about the situation.

For some strange reason, something tugged at her heart when she thought of him.

She silently prayed in her heart, hoping the prince would remain safe.

But then, she caught herself mid-thought and tried to check herself.

Why do I care about that infuriating man?

Why do I care whether he lives or dies?

This is his world, after all. I'm not supposed to feel anything.

Yet, the fear in her heart only continued to grow.

Her face was becoming pale.

Xia Lin quickly noticed and asked, "Are you feeling okay, Young Madam?"

Hua Jing quickly nodded, forcing a smile.

"I'm fine. Just lost in thought," she replied lightly.

She then thought about her earlier plan and decided to speak again.

"When we return to the palace, I want to visit the Hua Mansion," she said.

Xia Lin's face changed instantly, her expression one of shock.

"What?" she asked sharply.
