Chapter 78: Warehouse in another town
Silva and Ella arrived at the bank building. He wanted her to stay back, but she refused, saying this was something their parents left behind, so she wanted to see it. She wasn't taking no for an answer.
They walked into the bank and met the receptionist. He called out the code for her, she checked into the files, and then looked up with a bit of shock.
"This safety depository hasn't been checked in over ten years now," she said.
"Yes, it belongs to our parents. They died long ago," Silva said.
"Oh, my condolences. Well, come this way," she said and led the way, heading deeper into the bank, through a door and into a room filled with several safety boxes.
She walked to one and pointed at it. "This is your box. I'll leave you here for a few minutes. Items inside the box can be delicate at times, and other people aren't allowed to see." She said and walked out, but she didn't close the door.
Silva walked to the box, took a deep breath, and pressed in the code on the keypad. The door opened immediately. They looked inside, and there was an envelope, a brown one.
Silva took it out and opened the envelope. He took out the contents, it was a metal key and an address. Silva looked at the address, it wasn't somewhere close by at all. He would have to go out of town to get to this place.
They left the safety depository and then called Peter, asking if it was possible for him to drive them out. Peter was available, so he showed up immediately. They got into the car, and they drove off.
"Shouldn't she be resting?" Peter asked as he sped through the streets.
"We found something about our parents. They left an address and a key," Silva said, showing Peter the metal key.
"Oh? I see," Peter replied and floored the pedal. They drove out of town, the sun slowly setting behind them as they rode through the empty roads until it was late.
Finally, they arrived at a place. The entire area was covered in many factories. It was like a city away from the city. People lived there and worked; they also had their own guild.
Silva searched for the right place under the night sky. He could have asked the people around, but he decided not to. After a while, they finally found the place near the outskirts of the town. It was a small warehouse.
A man smoking a pipe at the side of the road saw them looking at the building and spoke, "That place hasn't been opened for over ten years now. The last couple that came here stopped coming many years back.
Wait, you kind of look like them," the man said. He got on his feet and walked toward them.
"Yeah, you look like them," he said, certain of it.
"We are their kids," Silva said.
The man's eyes widened. He looked at them in shock. "What? You mean you two are those little nuggins they came with sometimes?" the man asked.
"Wait, we have been here before?" Silva asked in shock.
"Well, if you are their kids, then yes. You kids would always come here from time to time. Over time they stopped bringing you, and soon they stopped coming as well," the man said.
'How could they have brought us here and we have no recollection of it? Something doesn't make sense here.' Silva thought. He looked at the man again. He could tell the man wasn't lying.
He took a deep breath and walked toward the warehouse. A lot of things didn't make sense, but maybe there were some answers behind this door.
There had to be, no matter what. There had to be something here that his parents kept for them. He unlocked the massive padlock and opened the door. He pulled it open, and the first thing that hit him was the heavy smell of dust and must.

Back in Silva's town, everyone went about their nightly activities. People walked down the streets, going about their normal day when suddenly, there was a shake in the ground.
People looked around in confusion and shock. What was happening? The shaking stopped for a few seconds. Everyone thought that it had stopped, but then out of mid-air a gate suddenly appeared.
Everyone was stunned when they saw the gate. They looked at it with fear. A gate randomly appearing in the town, nothing good could come from this.
It wasn't long before a monster leaped out of the gate, a hobgoblin. It stood with a mace in its hand, its eyes already darting around to find the first target.
It locked on a lady that was close and immediately lunged at her. She screamed and tried to run away, but before she could, it slammed into the back of her head, knocking her down. It grabbed her and bit into her neck, ripping the flesh out and killing her.
There was a crippling silence that followed. Everyone looked at the scene in shock. Then a scream followed. Everyone scattered, running for their dear lives.
But that wasn't going to be enough as more hobgoblins came out of the gate. Immediately, they started attacking humans.
A few minutes later, security made it to the scene. They came out of their armoured cars, using them to create a barricade. They pulled out their high-powered assault rifles and got ready to fire.
Their commander, a tall man with a bald head, stepped forward and looked at the goblins with a fierce look.
"They are low-level monsters. We can handle this until the Awakened get to the scene. Fire at will!" he roared, and bullets began flying.
They ripped through the goblins, their flesh tearing like paper. With the security here, the humans were taking the upper hand.
But then suddenly, a goblin king walked out of the gate. Standing at a towering seven feet, it let out a roar that shook the air.
