My Primordial Demon System

Chapter 66: Kill them all

The light shot downward very quickly. Everyone scattered before it hit; the light slammed into the ground and a power-up explosion followed.

BOOM.

The ground was shaken badly; dust rose, debris was sent flying, but none of them were affected.

"Seems there are some heavy hitters," Lily said and started spinning her chain. Spikes came out of Yue's chains and a purple flame lit around it.

"Let's have some fun," she said and stuck the chain into the ground, causing a blast that launched her high into the sky.

She spun even faster, her eyes locked on a group of five men in all-black robes. A grin formed on her face as she struck down; the chain ripped through the air, slammed right in front of them, and the blast sent all of them flying.

She landed on the ground, her eyes already locked on the exact position of each one of them. She dashed. One of them got to his feet and held out a chain as well.

"I'll make sure you suffer," he yelled and attacked with the chain, but she dodged it easily.

"Stop trying to copy my style," she said, kicked the ground, spun around in the air and lashed with her chain. It slammed into the chest of the person, shattering all his ribs and sending him flying like a sack of potatoes.

She didn't even wait for a moment before she lunged at the next; her chain already in motion, it wrapped around their leg. She pulled them close and kicked right in the chest again, throwing the person back only to be pulled forward again. She delivered a hammer kick, her feet planted right into the head of this person.

"Why would you ambush someone when you are extremely weak?" she mocked, spinning around and latching onto the next.

"I find that confusing," she muttered before taking out that third person.

Three men headed for Andrew. They yelled as they attacked with their chains, but Andrew was smooth with it. He stepped to the side and dodged the first, grabbed the second and yanked it so fast that the person was thrown into the line of attack of the third chain.

Ack.

The man screamed in pain as the chain slammed against his back.

"Really? You all thought this was enough to stop us? I feel disrespected," he said and dashed forward. Andrew was faster than he looked, and with some swift movements and, using the side of his sword, he slammed into the first man, cracking his jaw and sending him spinning. He didn't pause for even a second before rushing toward the third man.

The third man was frightened; he pulled the chain and attacked again.

These chains, I can sense it; there is some sort of energy inside them, and seeing the way these people are reliant on the chain, it has to have some special ability, Andrew thought.

He dodged the chain, covered the gap and, with a full-powered swing, he slammed into the head of the man, cracking the skull, and, despite not wanting to kill him, the man ended up dead.

He looked at the body, no real emotion in his eyes. He looked at the last. "I guess your mate wasn't all that durable," he said.

"Arghhhhhh!" the last man roared and swung; his chain made a snake-like movement and made its way to Andrew.

Out of curiosity, Andrew stretched out his hand and the chain wrapped around it.

When the man saw it, he began cackling, laughing from the bottom of his lungs.

Crack. Shatter.

The sound of chains shattering reached the man's ear. He looked up and was stunned, seeing how his chain was shattered easily.

"That's— that's not possible," he yelled. "That chain takes away your ability," he yelled.

"Oh? So that's what it does? Sorry then, the issue here is that I haven't used my ability at all; it would be a waste on you," Andrew said. He took one step forward and flashed to the front of the man, swung his sword and slammed him across the face, snapping his neck.

"Oops, another one dead," he muttered casually.

On the other side of things, Elena stood with her sword in hand, yet she hadn't moved it at all. She stood there, watching the six men, each one swinging a chain.

"Those weapons of yours, is that all you brought to take me down?" she asked.

"Don't get cocky because you are S-ranked. Today we will make sure we take you down," one of the men yelled and rushed forward.

Elena smiled, waiting for the man to get in range, and he did. He attacked by swinging the chain, but all it hit was an afterimage.

She stood behind him; he tried to turn around, but his head fell off his body. The blood flowed and soaked into the sand.

"I'll protect all humanity, but you members of the cult aren't human," she said.

The men were shocked at what had happened. They looked at each other with fear, tried to back away, but their bodies fell to the ground.

"Too late for retreat," she muttered. She walked over to them and stared down at them; she could see the horror in their eyes.

"This feeling that you have now, it is the same feeling that everyone you sacrificed felt," she said and turned around. Their heads rolled off their bodies.

Silva also finished knocking out two of the men. He watched as Elena ended the lives of all of them, and he left with a different impression of her: she was cold when she needed to be. Her blade didn't only protect; it also took life.

She raised the blade into the air, and wind blades shot all around, killing all those that were knocked down.

"They all deserve death," she said.

But that was a mistake. Suddenly, a rune on their bodies lit up, glowing with a purple, ominous light; it kept getting brighter every moment.

"Oh shit," Silva cursed.
