My Pregnant Stepsister

Chapter 35

"He won't hurt me in public, but you can stay somewhere far and watch us," she said.

I nodded, took her hand, and we left for downstairs. When you have a pregnant wife with your first child, you have to be extra careful, no matter what.

We got to the driveway, where Quinn's driver was waiting. He helped her into the Porsche that would take her to the restaurant where she'd meet her ex-boyfriend. They drove off.

Great. Time for my brilliant plan. I called Jake.

"My guy got him... he's in a moving bus, just a few blocks away from the restaurant," he said.

"Good. I'm on my way," I replied and got into my Rover sports car. I sped off to the location.

AT THE RESTAURANT

I was in my car in the parking lot, watching what was about to happen. Jake never fails. Quinn was already at the restaurant. I called Jake.

"Seen the jerk, bro? He's wearing a red shirt, going in now," he said and hung up.

I watched closely and saw him. He looked fat and mean and was walking too fast. He was approaching the restaurant. Jake and his crew quickly drove to his side and stopped, keeping him from entering the restaurant.

They jumped out of the van.

Phew!

They were wearing masks. Jake hit him on his knee, and he fell. I knew it was Jake because of the tattoos on his neck. In a split second, they carried him into the van and sped off.

Oops.

I bet he didn't see that coming. Time to go and calm my pregnant wife. I waited for ten minutes before going in. Quinn was at a table, already eating what she'd ordered. Wow... a hamburger with yogurt.

"Carrot nose, what are you doing here? My ex could come any minute," she said.

I sighed and sat down. "I don't think he's coming... you've been waiting for a long time... What if he had an emergency?" I asked, looking innocent.

She sighed. "I hope you're right. I really don't want to see him," she said.

"Okay, since we never went on a date or formally went out... let's do that now," I said and motioned for the waiter to come over. He came and handed us our menus.

"But, Joshua, I'm not comfortable yet. You look so relaxed. What if he comes in with his gang?" she asked.

"Then I'll bribe them... I have the money," I said, smirking. She rolled her eyes. If she only knew what Jake was doing to her evil ex, she'd insist we go home now and give me a serious thank you.

Joshua's POV

After enjoying all the meals we ordered, my pregnant wife and I went home. I got a text from Jake. I had to go.

"Um... Quinn, I have to go somewhere," I said as she pulled off her clothes.

"No. Do you really have to go?" she asked, sounding scared.

"Yes, I have to," I insisted, walking to the door.

"Where are you going?" she asked.

What do I tell her now?

"I need to see someone," I replied.

"Who?" she asked.

"A friend."

"Which one?" she asked.

Oh, what the heck.

"I'm no longer going. Go and take your bath," I said, giving up. I dropped my phones on the table while she ran into the bathroom happily.

NEXT DAY AT JAKE'S HOUSE

Joshua's POV

I climbed down the stairs to the basement in Jake's house. I went into the room to find Quinn's ex tied up tightly. He was jerking back and forth, trying to get free. He was blindfolded. Jake was on a couch, drinking. I went to him, and he handed me a mask to wear. We don't want the idiot to recognize us after this.

"You owe me big, bro. Do you know I couldn't get a wink of sleep last night because I was here watching the rascal?" he ranted.

He's a serious a serious party animal.

"Chill. Where are your guys?" I asked, looking around. "You guys didn't beat him up?" I added, looking at the guy tied up.

I was expecting him to be beaten up and half-dead. Jake likes to hurt people very much. He normally gets joy from seeing people hurt by his actions.

"We wanted you to do the honors," Jake said, giving me the bat he was holding. I took it and went to the guy. I removed his blindfold. He stared at me with anger in his eyes. Staring at me won't help; it just fuels my anger even more.

"You're making a big mistake. You have no idea who I am. I can hurt you real bad... I'm so going to hurt you in a way you won't be able to explain, you mother-," he yelled.

I tightened my grip on the bat and hit him on his arm, and he screamed. I could hear his bones crack.

Quinn, I'm sorry, but your ex will spend a fortune mending his bones.

"Who are you? What did I do to you jerks?" he asked.

I hit him on his knee, and he jerked up in the seat, hopping in pain. I kicked his seat with my leg, and he fell. He couldn't stop groaning.

"Please, bro! Let's work things out. I don't want to die now... What do you need? Illegal substances? I know a guy who can get you those. Please let me go," he kept rambling, pleading like a baby.

I leaned close to him so he could hear me loud and clear. "Who is Quinn to you?" I asked.

He froze for a while. "How do you know her?" he asked.

"Who are you to ask me about her? Are you losing your mind?"

He sneered at me. Jeez, this guy talks too much. I hit him with the bat twice on his back. You don't want to know how much that hurts.

"Aah! Okay, okay, I'll talk," he said, panting. I didn't say a word but just stared at his sweaty face.

"She's my ex. Yes, my ex," he said, stammering.

"Good. What did you do to her often?" I asked. He looked at me and spat, but thank goodness I stepped back, and his stinking spit didn't get on me.

"Ask her," he said, proving stubborn. I tried so hard to control my anger. I felt a soft tap on my shoulder. I turned to see Jake smirking.

"Bro, you know I'm good at this stuff. Let me help you a bit," he said, grinning and taking the bat from me while I stepped back.

Seriously, this guy is dead. Jake reached for his back pocket and pulled out a small knife.
