My nemesis turns out to be my mate

Chapter 5: The mark

We made our way to the pack house, and as we stepped out, a blonde girl rushed over to greet Drew. I assumed she was the one he had mentioned. She halted when she spotted me exiting his car, accompanied by a guy who appeared to be her brother. They both shared strikingly similar features, with their stunning blonde hair and tall builds—truly a beautiful pair.

"Felicity," I heard the Luna call out to me. I turned to see her beaming at me, and I wondered if she knew I was Drew's mate. "Yes, Luna, I'll be right there," I replied, hurrying over to her. She took my arm and addressed everyone, "Why don't you all come inside?" Out of the corner of my eye, I noticed the blonde, Abigail, reaching for Drew's hand, but he pushed her away, leaving her looking confused. I couldn't help but smirk, and the Luna chuckled, alright, she knows. We all began to head toward the library, and I overheard Abigail ask Drew, "Are you going to keep me at arm's length?" He remained silent.

Upon arriving at the study, Abigail dashed to a sofa to sit down. The Luna released my arm and took a seat as well. Drew came up behind me, and I turned my head back to look at him. He wore a broad smile. "So it seems she's the one you smile at, huh?" says Abigail, What was her issue? I shot her a glance, and if looks could kill, I would have been a goner.

"Come sit with me," he said, taking my hand and guiding me to a lone chair. How were we both supposed to fit in that? He settled down and pulled me onto his lap, prompting a chuckle from his mother that caught everyone's attention. "When were you going to tell me?" she asked her son. "Today," he answered confidently. I felt a gaze on me and turned to see Abigail's brother, who seemed to have pieced together what was happening. "So she's his mate?" Abigail remarked, unimpressed, while pointing at me. "And I'm marked," Drew stated matter-of-factly, causing the color to drain from Abigail's face. "You've been what? Is it today?" Here we go again, Mr. Big Mouth.

I turned to him, and he laughed. "No, Mom, it was before I left for the native pack. We had a disagreement, and she bit me," he explained, making it sound as if I were the bully. I shot back, "Because you were being a jerk!" His mother erupted in laughter. "How could I forget how you two used to argue?" she said, wiping tears from her eyes. "Back then, you were just kids, and without your wolves, it would have been impossible for that to occur. But then again, who knows? Nothing is truly impossible, right? Arnold" She turned to Abigail's brother, who was named Arnold.

He inhaled deeply before responding, "I've never heard of unawakened ones marking each other, so the chances are slim. It might just be a bite mark that hasn't healed." Drew laughed lightly. "Not quite! You might be surprised, Mom. Why don't you come and see for yourself?" he suggested, and she nodded in agreement. "Do you still have the mark from the bite?" He pulled his shirt down from his shoulder, revealing the mark. His mother gasped, and I wondered why she reacted that way. She stood up and approached us to get a closer look. "This is..." she trailed off, and I felt a wave of anxiety. "Yes, Mom, it's exactly what you think," Drew confirmed. The Luna stared at me in disbelief. "This isn't just a mate bite, Felicity; it's a to-death bite." I looked at her, puzzled. "What's a to-death bite?" I asked. She replied, "A bite of infinity; when one dies, the other dies too." What???
