My nemesis turns out to be my mate

Chapter 10: A growl

During that encounter, I let out a soft moan as his length brushed against me, penetrating my thighs, teasingly gliding through my opening. He moved rhythmically, and I found pleasure in the sensation, even though he hadn't fully entered me. Just as I was lost in the moment, he reached his climax or so I thought, his breath heavy as he leaned in to whisper, "Don't tempt me, Felicity, or I might lose control and take you before our mating ceremony." I couldn't help but chuckle; I have a fondness for such bold threats.

An hour has passed since our intimate encounter. After we cleaned up, I had the chance to admire his strong physique. I still find it hard to believe that Drew is my mate. Just yesterday, I never imagined I would be sharing a bath with him today. I'm currently wearing one of his t-shirts since I didn't bring any clothes with me, not expecting to stay overnight. Yet, here I am.

Now that evening has arrived, we've been summoned to dinner, but I'm reluctant to go. I'm only dressed in a t-shirt and my panties beneath, and I worry that if anyone sees me like this, they might jump to conclusions about my relationship with him. I can only imagine the reactions of the kitchen staffs when they learn that I am Drew's mate and will soon be the future Luna.

"What are you contemplating, Felicity? Don't you want to join us for dinner?" This guy is quite perceptive; he has always has been that way. Reflecting on it, he has shown this trait since we were younger. "I don't want to go out looking like this," I said, gesturing to my outfit. He scanned my appearance, and I found myself biting my bottom lip unconsciously. "You look good in that; it's almost knee-length," he teased, his gaze still fixed on me. I decided to play along, "So, you want other guys to see me dressed like this?" He frowned at my comment. "Stay here; I'll get you something better to wear," he replied before quickly exiting the room, leaving me to chuckle.

In no time, he returned. "That was fast," I remarked as he handed me a pair of jeans. "These are my mom's; at least they'll cover your legs," he explained. I slipped them on; they fit surprisingly well, the Luna was a bit curvier than I am, probably it's her old jean pants. Afterward, we headed to the dining area.

Everyone was already seated, and all eyes turned toward us. I felt a bit uneasy, even though this wasn't my first time among them. When I glanced at the alpha, he greeted me with a warm smile. "Good evening, Alpha," I said. "Good evening, Felicity. Why don't you take a seat with your mate?" he suggested. Drew pulled out a chair for me, and I sat down, with him taking a seat close by as our meals were served.

The waiting staffs and the head chef were surprisingly indifferent to my presence, going about their tasks without a glance in my direction. However, I could sense someone watching me, and it was unmistakably Arnold. I've never liked him; there's always been something off about him since the moment we met, he gives me the creeps.

Drew picked up on my discomfort and reached out through our mind link asking, "Are you feeling uneasy?" I responded with a reassuring smile, which made Luna chuckle, likely thinking I was just being affectionate towards her son. I then communicated to Drew, "Your friend Arnold has been fixated on me since we arrived." He immediately shot a glare at Arnold and let out a low growl. The alpha raised an eyebrow and inquired, "Is there a problem?" Drew kept his gaze locked on Arnold as he warned, "Stop staring at her, Arnold. I don't appreciate it."
