Chapter 35
Vanessa decided to visit the mall where Yanna had been rumored to be seen. She discreetly parked her car not too far from the mall, hesitating for a moment before deciding to call Yanna.
"Hello?" Yanna answered when she picked up the call.
"Yanna," Vanessa said, her tone gentle and filled with worry, a stark contrast to her normally indifferent attitude.
"Vanes?" Yanna was taken aback when she recognized Vanessa's voice.
Yanna immediately stood up, looking around her house. She was completely surprised but happy to hear from Vanessa, who she was familiar with.
"Mm," Vanessa felt a little shy and didn't know what to say.
Yanna, knowing that Vanessa was shy, also felt shy and guilty remembering how she had stolen a kiss from Vanessa before leaving. She was thankful that Vanessa didn't know about it.
Unaware that Vanessa knew, Yanna went to the kitchen and got her wine while talking to Vanessa.
"The show ended yesterday. Are you free today?" she asked.
"I see, that's a little early. Well, I'm free. But it's not good for you to be seen," Yanna replied.
Yanna bit her lip, knowing that it wasn't good for Vanessa to be seen outside at this time as the people don't know yet that the show ended so it might 'cause unnecessary trouble.
Vanessa was aware of the situation, but she really wanted to see Yanna. Remembering the way Yanna had kissed her and her words before leaving, Vanessa blushed and gained the confidence that Yanna wouldn't let her be sad. Despite being aware of the consequences, she decided to take the risk and play her cards.
"B-but I miss you," Vanessa said in a low voice, acting sad.
Hearing Vanessa's dejected voice, Yanna drank half a cup of wine in one gulp. She closed her eyes and said,
"I'll text you my address. Cover yourself, I mean wear a wig, so people won't easily recognize you."
"Okay, send it to me now," Vanessa smirked, excited but also blushing as she remembered their kiss.
Yanna, unaware that Vanessa knew about it, sent the address to her while continuing to her wine.
As Vanessa's thoughts wandered in different directions, she made sure to take precautions to avoid being easily recognized. She covered herself with a wig, hat, and sunglasses, determined to maintain a low profile during her trip to see Yanna.
With her disguise on, Vanessa made her way to Yanna's new address, being careful not to draw too much attention.
________
Vanessa, eager to surprise Yanna, decided to visit her unannounced. She parked her car in front of Yanna's house and made her way to the front door. As she approached the entrance, she noticed through the window that Yanna was inside, sitting alone at the dining table, sipping a glass of wine.
Excitement turned into a wave of awkwardness for Vanessa. She started questioning her visit, worrying that Yanna might not appreciate her intrusion. Nevertheless, she took a deep breath and knocked on the door, hoping that, just like her, Yanna would be happy to see her.
Startled, Yanna hurriedly put down her wine glass and rushed to open the door. Her initial surprise quickly transformed into a grin of delight upon seeing Vanessa standing there. She greeted her warmly and invited her inside, embracing their unexpected reunion.
Vanessa, relieved by Yanna's positive response, apologized for interrupting her relaxation time and explained that she just wanted to surprise her. Yanna, appreciating the genuine gesture, assured Vanessa that the timing was perfect and that she was delighted to see her.
Yanna actually respected Vanessa's decision to visit, even when she abruptly ended the call after promising to text the address, which was funny. She just didn't expect her to arrive so quickly.
They moved to the living room, where Yanna poured them both a glass of wine. As they sat down, Yanna asked her with concern
"How come the show ended early?"
'That jerk didn't ask the Director to end the show just because he couldn't stay any longer, did he?' Yanna thought to herself.
"It's nothing," Vanessa replied.
"Alice was asked to pull out from the show because of personal reasons, and our team managed to gather all the points, so the Director decided to end it there."
"Alice? Did something happen to her?" Yanna was fixated on Alice, as she remembered that "She" ended with Alice on Earth.
Vanessa became indifferent when Yanna's attention focused on Alice, although she knew they were friends. But she felt uncomfortable being ignored.
"It's something about her partner or something like that," Vanessa explained.
"Partner? She has a partner?" Yanna asked, surprised.
"Why?" Vanessa calmly asked, but her sharp and intimidating look made Yanna unconsciously gulp.
"N-nothing. Haha," Yanna nervously replied.
"To be more specific, she has a lover," Vanessa added.
"I see," Yanna responded.
Yanna didn't know why, but the air made her uncomfortable. She felt like she said something wrong. Her mind raced as she remembered that Vanessa also mentioned her winning. She stood up right away when she realized what she did wrong and made her way to get something.
Vanessa calmly drank the wine, but her eyes followed Yanna. She felt sad and disappointed to the point that she drank the wine quickly and poured herself another glass.
When she was about to drink the third glass, Yanna stopped her hand from behind and put down Vanessa's drink. Yanna hugged her.
"I'm sorry," Yanna apologized.
"What did you do wrong?" Vanessa asked coldly, but tears started to well up in her eyes.
"Because my attention went to Alice instead of your winning.. you worked hard," Yanna explained.
"...."
"Vanes?"
"I'm being unreasonable. I'm sorry. She's your friend, and you must be worried about her," Vanessa said with a hint of jealousy.
"No, she's an Alpha, and she can take care of herself. I was just asking casually. And as for you, I have something for you," Yanna reassured her.
Yanna excitedly pulled Vanessa and took her to the back of the house where another surprise awaited.
"What are we doing here?" Vanessa asked.
"I told you I have a surprise. Open the door," Yanna replied with sparkling eyes full of anticipation. Vanessa's bad mood immediately swept away, and she finally smiled.
