My Mother Is A Powerful Yandere Vampire!

Chapter 9: 009

The man raised his arm, holding the thin sword high into the air and,

WHOOSH

Slashed it down, sending an arc of blood aura at Max.

TREMBLE

The ground trembled as the blood arc hurtled towards Max, who was rooted to the ground.

Sweat formed on his forehead as it trickled between his brows. His ice-blue eyes trembled as the blood arc reached him.

Max felt his skin burn against the arc while his blood boiled beneath.

He felt his arm being sliced neatly as if he were a thin sheet of paper. Everything around him slowed down as all Max could see was the blood arc reaching his face.

'Oh no,' was the only thing he could mutter before everything went black.

….

"Ahhh!" Max jolted awake from his sleep. His chest heaved up and down while his face and palms sweated.

His ice-blue eyes quivered while they moistened as he recalled the death of the little girl.

He had been there from the start; he had watched how the little girl cried for her mother.

How her mother rushed toward her, how the man slashed her in half, and lastly, how the man killed the little girl.

He had witnessed it all, and it sent shivers down his spine.

'What was that?' Max wondered in fear, his breathing laboured, 'A nightmare?'

Max's movement woke Khiona beside him. She opened her eyes only to see her son, scared out of his wits.

She quickly spread her senses all over the castle, but did not find any intruders.

She frowned as she sat up and cupped his face, "Baby, what happened?"

But Max wasn't responding; he still was reliving the moment of the girl's death in his mind.

Her frown deepened when his body shivered once in a while; anger flared from deep within her. 'Someone scared, my baby? Who is it? Who? Who? Who? WHO DARES SCARE MY SON!!?'

But she clenched her jaw and held her anger; her anger was not important right now.

"Baby, look at me." She said as she held his face. But Max wasn't responding.

His breathing was erratic, and his palms and face were sweating a lot.

Noticing this, Khiona's face twisted in rage; the entire mansion began to tremble at her fury, but she held on.

She immediately hugged her son and gently rubbed his back, "It's okay, it's okay. Mama's here, baby. It's okay."

She kept on reassuring Max while gently rubbing his back, and after a few minutes, Max had come to his senses.

"Mom…?" he called out, his breath still labored.

"It's okay, dear. Mama's here," Khiona said while Max looked around him. He was in his bedroom, but it was frozen in a thick layer of ice.

"Can you tell Mama what happened?" said the warm body hugging him, noticing that he had calmed down.

She still kept rubbing his back while she gave a kiss on his shoulder.

"I…I had a nightmare, mom." Max explained, his eyes quivered as he recalled the destruction.

Khiona's eyes immediately turned blood red as she pulled out of the hug. "What did you say?"

CRACK

Her blood-red aura began to fill the room, crushing the ice.

Max frowned at her reaction, "I-I had a nightmare."

CRACK

CRACK

The blood-red aura thickened around them, almost crushing the bed to smithereens; Max's frown deepened while his heartbeat quickened. 'What's happening? Why is she reacting like that?'

"Baby," her voice softened as she looked at him, "vampires cannot dream."

Max's eyes widened at her words, 'B-But I definitely had a dream!' he exclaimed inwardly.

He then shook his head, "No, mom. I definitely had a dream. B-But…. But it felt so real."

Khiona narrowed her eyes at him; she placed her hand on his cheek and said, "Dear," her voice softened as she extracted her aura, "Tell mother what you saw in that dream."

GULP

Max gulped as he recalled everything he saw in that dream, "I-I saw a man…."

Max recalled everything he saw in that dream to his mother, who listened in carefully. He recalled how the man slashed the mother and crushed the child's skull.

"...And then, he slashed his sword at me, and I woke up," Max ended.

After his explanation, Khiona's expression softened as she kissed him on his forehead, "It's okay, dear. Mama is here; I will not let anything happen to you." She said as she hugged him again.

Max's heart calmed at his mother's hug; he hugged her back and took a deep breath, "Mom, you said that vampires cannot dream. Then how come I was able to?" He asked.

But then he frowned as he asked himself inwardly, 'Is it because I reincarnated?' He wondered.

Khiona tightened her hug at his question, "We vampires cannot dream, dear. But some of us can have prophetic visions."

She then pulled out of the hug and continued, "Some of the vampires in history had prophetic visions."

'And all of those visions always occurred when the vampire race was facing a crisis,' she mumbled inwardly; she did not mention it out loud so as not to worry her baby son.

"But those dreams didn't always come true and are mostly vague, so you don't need to worry, okay?" She lied; it broke her heart when she saw him scared, and she didn't want to burden him with more information.

Max nodded in response; he didn't want to think about that nightmare anymore, but, "Mom?"

"Hmm, what is it sweetie?"

"Can you increase my training?" he requested. 'I don't want to be like those people… powerless.'

"It's okay, baby. Mama's here; nothing will happen to you until I am alive!" Khiona reassured as she pressed her forehead against his.

"I know, mom. I know you are powerful, but I don't want to be weak!" Max exclaimed, 'I don't want to feel powerless again.'

Khiona didn't know what to do, but when she saw her son's determined eyes, she nodded hesitantly and said, "...Okay. We will start your training the day after tomorrow. You should take a rest for the day."

Max nodded at her suggestion while Khiona fell back on the bed and Max slept on top of her.

But Khiona stayed awake; she seemed to be in a daze, thinking about Max's dream, 'I should inform that old hag tomorrow.' She mumbled inwardly and closed her eyes.
