Chapter 2: The Wheel of Final Judgement
Sorting out her situation, she learned several things about herself and this world.
Firstly, she somehow miraculously awakened in the world inside the game Legend Online with her real body. The most important thing was her terminal diseases were cured! It was worthy of celebration. Finally, after more than a decade of suffering from the disease that wreak her body apart, she finally could live with a healthy body.
Next, this was indeed the same Sacred Lunar Continent she knew of, but instead of the final chapter when she killed the Dragon Empress Astrea, she regressed in time to the first chapter of "Sacred Enlightenment" not long after the game server was launched.
Who the hell had dragged her to this world? She really wanted to meet whoever that being was to, firstly express her gratitude to save her from her ill destiny, and later gave them a "love" beating for involving her in this mess.
Aurora rubbed her faintly swollen eyebrows. Since this was the case now, it was useless to think too much about other things.
However, a sudden realization dawned upon her. If this world and the plot were similar to what happened in the game, it meant that she had the opportunity to prevent the tragedy that would soon unfold.
She couldn't help but recall her first crush who had tragically died at the end of this chapter. That platinum-haired beastkin made her heart pound for the first time in her life at the first stage whose name inspired her previous Guild Name.
Aurora clenched her fist hard as her heart filled with determination. But there was still quite a long time before she could meet that woman again. She needed to work hard to regain her strength to fill the gap.
'Anyway, will the in-game system also exist?'
Thinking of this, Aurora had a thought, and a familiar system function template really appeared in front of her. She clicked on the character status, and soon a window appeared.
---
Aurora Silverburg - 18 years old
Level: Level 1
Race: Human (???)
Occupation: Spirit Swordsman (Legendary Occupation)
Occupational Skills: Magic Cannon F, Element Control F, Spirit Sword F
Achievement: [Dragon Slayer] [Dragon Empress' Soulmate] [Limit Breaker]
---
The name changed to her real name and the panel become more simplistic than that of the game. She couldn't read her own attribute such as: HP, MP, Strength, Agility, etc. This was definitely a little bit troublesome, but what made her feel a headache was the question mark behind the race.
There were generally only two possibilities for the question mark after the race, one was that the special bloodline of oneself has not been awakened, and the other was that one's race was not human.
If it was the former type, it could provide a series of permanent gains and enhancements such as speed, strength, and defense when the special bloodline is awakened in the later stage.
However, the latter was very deceiving. If it was a high-level race, it's okay. But it didn't mean that it wasn't without its own set of problems.
For example, a player chose the priest as a profession before and finally reached the level 50 awakening, and it turned out their race was actually an undead race.
The priest's light attribute directly restrains their own undead attribute, not to mention, the light and dark attributes in the body conflict with each other at every turn. By that time, sudden death on the street was common, and finally, the player was so angry that he deleted her account on the spot and restarted a new character.
And under unknown circumstances, all the abilities of one's own race were sealed, and there was no bonus at all.
And what was the deal with the achievement she got?
She could guess the [Dragon Slayer] and [Limit Breaker] titles which should've been obtained from killing the Dragon Empress Astrea and clearing the last chapter. However, what about [Dragon Empress' Soulmate]? What tomfoolery was this?
Impatient, she clicked those two titles without hesitation.
---
Dragon Slayer : A heroic feat for someone who has slain a dragon.
Effect: Increase 20% damage to Dragon or draconic creatures.
Limit Breaker : The one who didn't falter from the ultimate challenge and thus transcend from the shackle of mortality
Effect: Level Cap increase to 100
Dragon Empress' Soulmate: The one who is acknowledged by Dragon Empress Astrea. Their fate will be intertwined for eternity.
Effect: Increase charm for female creatures and easier to get their goodwill, decrease charm for male creatures and easier to raise their competitive spirit and jealousy/envy
---
Aurora couldn't help but gawk at the first two titles she obtained. It was basically overpowered.
In Legend Online the highest level that could be achieved was level 80 or the peak of the 4th Tier Profession. After receiving the title [Limit Breaker], it meant that it might be possible for her to upgrade her profession to the 5th Tier, which was unheard of. What kind of profession would it be? She couldn't help but let her imagination run wild.
The title [Dragon Slayer] might not be giving her an advantage in the first two chapters but when she reached the more advanced areas such as Dragon Valley or Grand Forest it would be easier for her to hunt powerful monsters with rich rewards such as Drake or Wyvern.
Furthermore, when she reached level 15, she might be able to clear the one and only C-rank dungeon accessible in the first chapter the Salamander Cave! In this way, she could reach level 25 twice or thrice the speed she had done in Legend Online as Auror!
But, for the last one...
What did it mean 'their fate will be intertwined for eternity?'. It's so confusing, Aurora thought. Was her current situation had something to do with Dragon Empress Astrea?
Aurora pondered for a moment but quickly decided to stop thinking about that matter for now as she didn't have much information to infer from. The effect of the title was somewhat problematic, but she decided to solve it when it came.
Opening her inventory, Aurora couldn't help crying because it was so empty. All the gold coins, artifact equipment, and medicine materials she had saved after playing the game for so long were gone!
"What is this?"
Just when Aurora was about to close the system interface in disappointment, the things stored on the last page of the inventory panel caught her attention.
"The Wheel of Final Judgment?"
Aurora clicked on this thing called the Wheel of Final Judgment. From the appearance, it looked like a disc made of crystal, with a crimson sword stuck in it, and nine other empty ones. There must be other types of magic swords in the sword slot.
[The Wheel of Final Judgment—The world that has lost the truth will finally usher in the final judgment (contractable)]
'Contractable? Wanna give it a try?'
In the five years of experience playing Legend Online, it was not boasting to say that she was the most erudite player about the in and out of the story and secrets of this game.
Whether it was items, weapons, or quests, if she claimed to be the second, no one would dare to claim the first. But even so, she had never heard of an item called The Wheel of Final Judgment nor she recognized the sword that was embedded in one of its slots.
This was an unknown territory even for the "Walking Encyclopedia Auror"!
Aurora hesitated for a moment, but eventually reached out and signed the contract. Nothing was gained if none ventured. She could feel her gamer blood boil with expectation and curiosity.
A red light suddenly lit up from the sword, and then the red light extended along her fingertips, winding all the way until it entered her mind.
At this time, she received a system prompt.
[Wheel of Final Judgement's Contract - First Oath Spirit Sword: Flamberge Waltz]
When she summoned the Flamberge Waltz, an imposing crimson sword appeared in her hand. Its size was a little bigger than a common sword but it fitted perfectly in her hand. The weight slightly at the heavier side, but nevertheless, still comfortable when she tried to swing it.
The undulating edge looked so fierce, and the deep crimson color made it look like a flame that ready to swallow everything into ashes. Aurora couldn't help but marvel at its beauty.
When she tried to feel the sharpness of the blade, her finger was accidentally cut and blood trickled out of the small wound. As the prickling pain ran through her body, Aurora's expression turned heavy. Once again, she was reminded that this world wasn't game anymore but reality.
When the time came, could she really raise her sword and claimed the life of her enemy? Could she really bear the weight of life, when she herself knew nothing of its value?
Aurora's complexion suddenly paled and her hand trembled slightly.
She was Aurora—not the charismatic leader Auror, the strongest player in Legend Online. She was just an ordinary girl, insignificant and inexperienced. Although she could act like the mighty Demonic Swordman, she wasn't that man.
Back in the game, she could easily slay monsters and behead other players or NPCs who opposed her, knowing that they were just a series of codes, an arrangement of 1 and 0. However, it was different this time. They were real flesh and blood, breathing life in and out. Could she really survive and make a difference in this world where if you didn't kill, you would be killed instead?
As if sensing her dilemma, the flame sword Flamberge Waltz in her hand shook gently, sending pulses of warmth into her body as if comforting her. Fortunately, it somehow worked out, and Aurora gradually calmed down.
No matter what, this was her new reality. Aurora was no Auror, but that man was also part of her. No matter how much she spilled blood and sweat, she would work hard to become her ideal self.
Let the world knew that the strongest Demonic Swordman was here.
The corner of her cherry lips curled slightly as she expressed her gratitude for the crimson sword in her hand.
"Thank you for comforting me."
As if the sword could hear her words, the Flamberge Waltz shook again excitedly, just like a little kid getting praised by their parents.
"Why is it so noisy outside?"
Just as she was about to study the sword further, her ears perked up, attracted to the continuous clashing sound outside the carriage.
