Chapter 396: The Origin of the Myriad Phenomena Sect and the Senluo Sect
Cao Zhen sensed Xun Jian Immortal's gaze and smiled gently, saying: "No need to look at me. These treasures, you might as well take them. In the world of magical cultivation, there's a rule: whoever kills gets the treasure."
Although these people weren't killed by you, they weren't killed by me either.
So whoever finds them may keep the treasures."
Cao Zhen said this while casually taking away the Qiankun Bag from another of the Demonic Sect members.
Even though he said that anyone could take the Qiankun Bags of these Demonic Sect members, the Two-Sword Immortal seemed to still have some concerns.
As they walked down the mountain, they found a total of five corpses of the Demonic Sect members, but the three of them from the Two-Sword Immortal only took the Qiankun Bags from two corpses, leaving three for him.
It seems the Two-Sword Immortal must have read a book called "The Pattern" thoroughly.
Walking down from the mountain, they encountered no one on their path. It was unclear whether too many people had died in the desert earlier, or if everyone could no longer fly and had to walk, resulting in fewer sightings.
After following them for about an hour, Cao Zhen finally saw ten figures for the first time.
All ten were dressed in black.
Cao Zhen glanced at the chest of their clothing, a peculiar expression in his eyes.
People from the Senluo Demonic Sect.
He'd seen members of the Senluo Demonic Sect before, but hadn't had any direct conflict with them. It's interesting that the three people accompanying him were from the Wanxiang Cult.
The Wanxiang Cult is a Grand Righteous Sect, while the Senluo Cult is a Demonic Sect. Yet, both teachings originated from the same source.
Legend has it that in the beginning, there was a sect called Senluo Wanxiang.
This sect was always an inconspicuous group until two genius figures emerged within its ranks.
Not the so-called geniuses that are everywhere; these were true Heavenly Prides.
These two were the most dazzling among all the talents of their era, leaving even the geniuses from other grand teachings far behind.
Later, these two became even more remarkable, reaching the point where they no longer compared themselves with peers but measured themselves against their predecessors.
Having two such Heavenly Prides was originally a blessing for the sect.
Who would have thought that later on, during a venture into a dangerous place, both had mysterious encounters that intensified their brilliance upon their return?
By then, both had already ascended to the status of Immortality Regainment Realm beings.
However, soon, they began to have conflicts.
One argued that cultivating the physical body should be paramount, as only a strong enough physical form could support more robust celestial energy and cast stronger spells.
Yet the other believed that though the physical body was significant, cultivating celestial energy was even more crucial.
It was a conflict, but not as stark as the clash between Sword Sect and Qi Sect seen in previous lives.
After all, both acknowledged the cultivation of the physical body; it was merely that one considered it primary while the other prioritized celestial energy.
But after some time, the genius who believed in physical cultivation discovered that his friend not only had a different cultivation ideology but started cultivating demonic qi.
Immediately, he tried to dissuade the other from cultivating demonic qi, but his counterpart refused, as it was something he encountered during his perilous adventure.
Following that, tensions between them escalated.
It was also the time for Senluo Wanxiang Sect to elect a new Sect Leader.
The new Sect Leader could only be one of them.
Among the disciples, there were supporters for each.
Finally, the genius who cultivated demonic qi opted not to witness in-fighting within the sect. Therefore, he led his supporters to leave Senluo Wanxiang Sect and founded the Senluo Cult.
Meanwhile, the remaining genius succeeded as the Sect Master. But since the sect had lost part of its people and because the other sect became known as Senluo Cult, he decided to rename it Wanxiang Sect.
He stated that he would wait for those from Senluo Cult to recognize their error and voluntarily return to apologize, upon which he would restore the sect's name to Senluo Wanxiang Sect.
These two became the Founding Ancestors of the Wanxiang Sect and the Senluo Cult.
Initially, as the members knew each other, having been part of the same sect, there were no conflicts. However, over time, as they recruited more disciples and as the sect's elders gradually passed away from old age, the interactions between the two groups lessened, leading to several conflicts.
Gradually, the relationship between the two sects worsened to the point of mutual hostility.
Later, both sects became grand teachings, but before they reached that status, their Founding Ancestors had already passed away, reaching the end of their lives long ago.
Without the suppression of the two Ancestors, the animosity between the two grand teachings intensified, eventually evolving into a deadly enmity.
