My Magical System

Chapter 347: Warrior’s experience

"Is that Miss Sol?!"

"That's definitely her—along with many others!"

The people nearby who heard this felt a glimmer of hope.

"She's helping us again!"

"Thank God!"

A jet-black sword swung across the body of a large flying monster. The creature didn't have time to react before its body was sliced clean in half.

Sol was like the incarnation of death to the flying beasts. With a single sweep of her sword, blood sprayed through the air, and the monsters dropped to the ground in pieces.

Her presence reignited the morale of the soldiers. Due to the earlier attack by the bee colony that morning, only a few soldiers and guards were in any condition to help defend the town. Most were still recovering from their injuries. That's why, upon seeing Sol—a reliable reinforcement—the soldiers couldn't help but feel overjoyed.

Sol didn't waste any time. With fluid movements, she dashed through the sky using short bursts of magic-enhanced leaps, closing the gap between her and another winged beast. Her eyes were sharp, focused solely on the enemies ahead.

Behind her, other figures began to land—they were armed in various kinds. Clad in polished armor and wielding enchanted weapons, they followed Sol's lead without hesitation. Each of them was an experienced warrior.

"Those guys are mercenaries!"

"We're saved!"

Cheers erupted from the exhausted soldiers on the ground. Some struggled to their feet, renewed strength surging through their aching limbs as hope reignited in their hearts.

After exterminating a group of flying beasts, Sol landed beside a group of wounded guards, her blade dripping with dark ichor.

"Rest for now," she said, her voice calm but firm. "We'll handle the rest."

The guards, wide-eyed with awe, nodded without protest. One of them, clutching a bandaged arm, whispered, "She's stronger than we thought…"

In the air, more beasts screeched and dove toward the town, but they were met mid-flight by Sol and the mercenaries. Blades clashed with claws, spells lit the skies, and the tide of battle began to shift.

From a watchtower nearby, the town commander lowered his spyglass and exhaled with relief. "We might just survive this day…"

"Alright, everyone! Those who can still fight take your weapons and fight!"

The commander's voice reached across the crowd.

Carrying their weapons once again, they roared vigorously.

HOOOOOH!

GYAAAK!

A giant bat was shot down using enchanted arrows. The monster shrieked an eerie noise before it fell as a piece of lifeless flesh to the ground beneath it.

Boom! Boom!

Thunderous explosions came one after another, and in the next second, some shadows could be seen falling with fumes on their bodies.

With the help of Sol and the mercenaries, the soldiers' faces lit up in excitement. They found a new light of hope in the midst of hopelessness.

Streak!~~~

Another bolt of lightning flashed across the sky in a root-like pattern, illuminating the world below. Scattered battles could still be seen raging throughout Rothsport Town.

Howls and growls echoed unevenly, mixing with the roaring thunder above.

When the flash lit up the sky, the ground was revealed to be soaked with the blood of both humans and beasts—mingling in the puddles of rainwater.

While the skies rained blood and fire from Sol's onslaught, a different kind of battle was unfolding on the ground—one that shook the very earth beneath their feet.

Just when everyone thought a glimmer of hope had finally shone upon them, an ear-splitting noise tore through the sky.

Owwwwwohhhh~~~

Upon hearing it, an uncomfortable chill crawled over their skin.

Everyone gasped in horror as they watched the defeated monsters rise to their feet once again!

"What the hell?"

"Are you kidding me?!"

"This is insane!"

Cries of disbelief erupted as they witnessed the horrific scene unfolding before their eyes.

'Are these monsters unkillable?' They couldn't help but think so.

Despite the arrival of reinforcements, it was clear that the advantage was still unclear. The number of beasts was simply too overwhelming. They kept coming—and worse, their resilience was astonishing.

Even Rossbert looked dumbfounded. No matter how many times he brought the ox down, it kept getting back up—unless he reduced it to pieces, like what Sol had done to the flying monsters. Merely wounding them wasn't enough to stop this creature.

A monstrous roar echoed through the northern gates as a colossal ox-like beast charged through a crumbled section of the wall. Its muscles were like boulders, its horns longer than spears, and its eyes glowed with a savage red fury. The ground cracked under each step.

Standing in its path was a lone man—Rossbert.

Towering and broad-shouldered, Rossbert was a walking fortress of muscle and grit. His armor, though dented and scorched, clung to him like a second skin. In his hands, he held a massive greatsword, its blade glowing faintly with runes that pulsed with battle intent.

"You really want to die that badly, huh," he muttered, cracking his neck as he stared down the beast. "Come at me."

The ox monster let out a deafening snort and thundered forward, hooves pounding like war drums.

Rossbert didn't move.

Not until the very last second.

With a roar of his own, he swung his sword upward with both hands—meeting the beast head-on.

Boom!

The impact shook the buildings nearby. Dust exploded in all directions. The ox stumbled back, dazed by the unexpected power. Blood dripped from a cut in one of its horns.

Rossbert grinned. "Didn't like that, did you?"

The monster bellowed again and came back with a vengeance, its horns lowered. This time, it spun its body mid-charge, aiming to toss Rossbert aside with its tail.

But Rossbert ducked low and rolled beneath it, waving his sword into the creature's side. A long horizontal wound was registered on its body. The ox staggered, rage mounting.

From the nearby battlements, soldiers watched in awe.

"He overwhelmed that thing!?"

"Rossbert's insane…"

"No—he's simply strong! Rossbert is a different breed of monster after all!"

The beast reared on its hind legs and came crashing down. Rossbert raised his greatsword and blocked the strike, though the sheer force drove him to one knee. Blood trickled from his forehead where a loose stone had struck him, but his grin remained.

"You're big," he grunted. "But I've fought stronger enemies than you."

His greatsword glowed brighter now. The enchantment was fully charged.

With a roar that echoed across the battlefield, Rossbert leapt forward and waved his weapon directly into the ox's chest.

Slash!

A shockwave erupted from the point of impact. The beast was consumed by a blinding surge of magical power, and for a moment, it froze mid-charge—before falling to the ground with a thunderous crash, unmoving.

Silence followed.

What was supposedly a giant monster just a second ago was then only its lower part left.

Then—cheers.

"He did it!"

"The monster's down!"

Rossbert stood over the fallen beast, panting heavily. He wiped the blood from his brow and muttered, "Phew. Next time, send something harder."

He looked to the sky, where Eman was chased by an enormous shadow.

"We'll hold the town. You take your time," he muttered under his breath.
