My Magical System

Chapter 326: The sisters

At their question, Eman told them what the System told him that night. That the beehive was absorbing the Yang energy of the oak tree.

"Absorb?"

"Really?"

Zoey and Rowan looked at him. On their faces was an expression of disbelief. He understood their reactions. He also couldn't believe that a beehive could do that.

Zennie looked stupefied as well. Sol, on the other hand, was calm as always. However, although she looked stoic outside, Eman knew that Sol was just a soft person inside.

She just didn't express her honest feelings outside, especially around other people. But when she was inside the Lord's Domain, or when they were alone together, she was more expressive.

Their response is within his expectations.

"Yes." Eman nodded from their disbelief and said, "What baffles me the most is how the beehive arrived there and what's the purpose for doing that."

Townlord Rowan touched his chin. "Those mysterious people mentioned by the guardian dragon are probably the ones who brought it there," he suspected.

Eman had the same thoughts. He suspected that too. Nonetheless, he only needed to say that to make them aware that this incident might have been carefully planned by an unknown group of people.

He just didn't understand why those people did it and what was their goal for doing it. But honestly, he had a strong hunch that it was connected to the Bless Church or the Burning Puppet Cult.

Zennie turned her head and looked at Eman. "But Eman, it's dangerous that you went there alone. What if something bad had happened to you?" Zennie suddenly told him. Her face filled with worry.

Eman smiled softly and said, "I am careful, but I didn't expect something like that would appear."

After Eman's reply, Zoey suddenly interjected.

"Eman, you don't get it, don't you?" Zoey grinned. Her words were coupled with a teasing tone. Her light-hearted personality suits her perfectly.

Eman touched his nose and asked. "Did I miss something?" He looked around. Somewhat puzzled.

Zoey touched her head and shook it as if saying "Oh, boy. This man is so dense".

He noticed Zennie had a flushed face. He glanced at Sol to seek help, however, a chortle came from her instead. He saw Sol's shoulder shaking. She covered her mouth while holding her laughter. Tears at the corner of her eyes.

Eman didn't get it. He felt like he was left out all of a sudden.

|Sol, what are you laughing at?| She looked so cute and he wanted to pinch her cheeks. If only they were alone, he would surely do it.

|Eh? Sorry, I just found it unusual for you to be clueless, fufufu.| Sol was taken aback when Eman suddenly sent a telepathic message to her but she quickly recovered and laughed.

Eman's mouth hung open at her reply. He looked at Rowan. He saw Rowan wearing a wry smile.

Why does everyone seem to be bullying him? Eman couldn't help but ask inwardly.

After wiping the tears from the corner of her eyes, Sol said, "Please, let me come with you next time." Her voice filled with worry and pleading. She also showed an expression identical to Zennie's.

Eman seemed to have realized something after seeing her expression.

'I see,' he thought.

Although they weren't talking about it yet, Sol was like a lover to him. So feeling worried about him was a natural thing.

How about Zennie? Well, Zennie was a close friend, so it was only natural for her to feel worried for her friends. She was just such a kind person.

From Sol's words, Eman replied. "I don't think I'll go back there anytime soon, but let's see."

"Why?"

"I temporarily put off my investigation. Looking that the enemy's base is just nearby, I need to think and find countermeasures in case those things suddenly launch an attack." Honestly, his curiosity got the better of him last night. It was the reason why he went there. But now, he needed to study and master his new sword.

He had a feeling there was more about this sword.

Hearing Eman's words, Rowan opened his mouth. "I see. You're right. We can't be complacent. Just because they haven't attacked yet doesn't mean they won't attack later."

Hearing Rowan's words, the air turned serious once again.

Eman told them all that happened that night without leaving a single detail. He even told them what kind of attack could defeat the enemy.

"Spiritual attack? That's very uncommon," Zennie said and fell silent.

"Yeah. And by the way, I am not sure if those things will come to attack the town, but I think it's better if the town is ready at all times."

"You're right, Eman," Zennie agreed.

Zoey glanced at Rowan and said, "Father, he's right."

"Alright, I'll go and find some people who can deal with those types of enemies," Rowan suddenly declared.

"Alright, Senior. Be careful and I wish you luck."

Rowan nodded in affirmation. But before leaving, he said to Eman. "I leave them to you. Don't let them go outside without your permission."

Eh?

Eman gawked.

"Wait, father!" Zoey shouted. But Rowan already went outside the room and closed the door.

When the meeting was over, Zoey called out to Eman.

"Wait, Eman!"

Eman, who was walking in the corridor along with Sol and Zennie, suddenly stopped on his feet. Sol and Zennie also stopped. They looked at Zoey.

"What's up, Lady Zoey, do you need something?" Eman asked.

"You said you defeated the gigantic boar with your sword…"

"Yeah, that is indeed what I said," he nodded.

"What? So you have weapons that can defeat them? In that case, please let me borrow one! I want to fight as well when they decide to attack the town!"

Hearing it, Zennie also looked at Eman. "Me too. I want to protect everyone even at the cost of my life! Eman, please let me borrow!"

These two sisters suddenly begged him to lend them his weapon.

Eman smiled wryly. "You're talking about this." He summoned the Spirit Sword.

When they saw it, Zoey, Zennie, and even Sol, all gasped in admiration at the sword.

"What kind of sword is that? It looks beautiful," Zoey said with eyes glittering.

"Right," Zennie was nodding her head, agreeing with her sister.

"Yeah, that sword looks different. It looks ethereal," Sol also commented.

"This sword is called Spirit Sword."

"Spirit Sword?! Alright, let me borrow it!" While saying this, her hand tried to snap the sword, but what her hand caught was an empty air. Eman's hand was quicker.

Zoey looked at her hand as she closed and opened it.

"Sorry, but I only have this," Eman grinned, and with the flick of his finger, the sword disappeared.

"What?! Grrr…" Zoey gritted her teeth. Then suddenly, she crossed her hands and pouted. "Hmph! Then tell me where you bought it."

Eman wore a thin smile. "I didn't buy it."

"Eh? So where did you get it?"

"I just happened to get it by chance."

"Boring. Alright, I'll go outside."

Before she could go away, Eman tugged on her shoulder. "Uhm, where are you going, Miss Zoey?"

"O-Outside," Zoey tried not to meet his gaze.

"No, you can't." Eman forced a smile.

"Kiyaaah! I want to go outside! I've been bedridden for so long! And now we are in danger of getting attacked. At least let me enjoy my life before I die!" She struggled to get away. However, she could not budge his hand.

Zoey wondered why Eman was so strong. Is this even a normal strength? Even Mister Rossbert wasn't this strong. And Mister Rossbert was said to be the strongest person in Rothsport Town.

Zennie and Sol looked dumbfounded at Zoey's childish act.

Suddenly, a hand-chop hit the head of Zoey.

Ugyow!

A groan escaped from Zoe's mouth and she quickly touched her head. With a bead of tears at the corner of her eyes, she looked to her side only to see Zennie with knitted brows. Her hand was slightly lifted. She probably used it to slap her head.

Raising her brow, Zennie said, "Sis, you're bothering him. Stop acting like a child," Zennie said strictly like a stern mathematics teacher.

Zoey clicked her tongue. "Tsk! What are you, his possessive wife?"

Upon hearing it, fumes exploded on Zennie's head. She stuttered and looked flustered. "W-w-wife?! W-w-what are you saying, sis?" She clasped her reddened face.

Beside them, Sol was chuckling. Zoey could easily turn the tide against Zennie.

Eman smiled wryly. Sometimes, he doubted if Zoey was truly the older one among the two; it seemed like Zennie was more suited to be the big sister. He let out a sigh and said, "Alright, if you'd promise not to go outside, I'll find a way to get you something that can help in fighting against those enemies when they choose to attack."

"R-really?!"

"Yes," Eman nodded.

"W-well, it can't be helped. Since you asked me like a gentleman, what can I do? Alright. I'll go to my room. Uhm, Sol. Come with me," Zoey dragged Sol with her.

Sol glanced at Eman and winked at him. Eman understood what she wanted to say. She said to let her handle Zoey.

Eman nodded and smiled.
