Chapter 130: Three-in-One Chapter (21–23/101)
Inside the Safe House.
Yang Yuan waited for quite a while before red letters appeared on the receipt slip:
[We are still near the Ancient Ruins. Mr. Yang Yuan, please leave first and find a safe place. We shall meet again if fate allows. Please make sure to keep the receipt and stay in contact.]
Zhao Jiayan said: "It seems like we can't reunite in a short time. Shall we go on our own?"
"Let's go first. Let's get out of this place before anything else. You stay here and wait for me while I go out and check the surroundings."
Yang Yuan put away the receipt slip and once again went outside the Safe House.
The current temperature outside had already dropped to just over ten degrees, which was quite cold.
Moreover, this temperature would surely continue to drop as the power of the Drought Fiend dissipates.
If nothing unexpected occurs, this region will become permafrost within a century, unless the dust in the sky completely settles.
Yang Yuan leaped onto the roof of the Safe House and gazed into the distance.
"This river... so wide!"
He couldn't even see the edges of the river, which meant its width could very well exceed a thousand meters.
The length was indiscernible, but judging from the terrain, the river wasn't likely very short.
And given how wide it was here, it was very unlikely to be narrow elsewhere. So wading across it seemed impossible.
'There's monstrous fish in the river; building a boat to cross isn't realistic, and the materials I have can't produce that large of a boat. A small boat couldn't possibly hold steady in such swift currents. Even if I upgrade it, I would need to go into the water to gain experience first...'
Yang Yuan pondered with his arms crossed: 'What if I make something that can fly and cross from above?'
But he only knew the simple principles of an electric motor, and didn't understand how the current Spirit Monster Core energy was converted into electric energy.
And even if he made the airplane motor, he couldn't make an airplane...
"Whoosh—"
Suddenly, a dark shadow flew overhead.
Yang Yuan's eyes lit up. With a quick push of his feet, he shot up into the air over thirty meters high and caught the shadow in one swift move.
"Caw..."
It was a small black bird with a wingspan of barely a meter wide, but it was extremely fierce.
Once caught, it fiercely attacked Yang Yuan with its beak and claws, both sharp.
"Behave!"
Yang Yuan directly grabbed the bird's neck and descended from the sky.
"Yang Yuan, what are you planning to do? Need any help?" Zhao Jiayan asked at the door of the Safe House.
"I do need help. I'm going to modify this bird, and you can help heal it, just don't let it die."
As he spoke, Yang Yuan waved his hand to bring out the 3D Printer, preparing to print the bird's bones and give it an artificial 'rebirth.'
"It's a small matter. This bird is so weak, it shouldn't cost much energy. Besides, I'm not weak now either."
Saying this, Zhao Jiayan suddenly became curious: "What was it that you gave us before? It's amazing, I felt as if there were almost no side effects, and I suddenly became much stronger."
"It's the sealing power of the Ancient Ruins. To be precise, it's the power maintaining the seal. As for what kind of energy it is exactly, I'm unsure..."
Yang Yuan explained what had happened on the battle arena and his own speculations.
Immediately, Zhao Jiayan looked astonished: "According to you, that Ancient Ruins indeed feels like a game dungeon, but it's not quite rational; the ultimate boss is excessively strong."
She speculated wildly: "Back when our Earth suddenly fused with this world, do you think this world could be a Game World? Or rather, an unfinished Game World?"
"What are you thinking? If it really were a Game World, how could there be no game interface?" Yang Yuan shook his head humorously.
"Is there a possibility that the game interface is actually the data in the Conceptual System superpower user's mind?"
Zhao Jiayan continued with her wild speculation: "Is there such a possibility that you Conceptual Superpower Users are actually future players?"
"I think you're overthinking it."
Yang Yuan directly dismissed the idea and used facts to argue his point: "If your argument were true, that this world is a Game World, there should be many players, but Conceptual Superpower Users are so scarce..."
"What if this Game World is a single-player game?"
Zhao Jiayan said: "Isn't there even a possibility that this world is just one of the game zones?"
Yang Yuan paused for a moment as he worked, but then shook his head again, laughing: "Though your words do seem plausible, they're too absurd. I haven't told you: earlier, we inadvertently opened the Starry Sky Gate and witnessed a real extraterrestrial civilization. Their spaceship was half the size of Earth."
"A real extraterrestrial civilization?" Zhao Jiayan was stunned.
Yang Yuan continued: "Assuming, according to your theory, this world is a Game World, it's unlikely we could open a pathway to the stars. After all, a two-dimensional cannot enter a three-dimensional space; that extraterrestrial civilization can't possibly be in the game, right? Even the so-called omnipotent deities, I doubt they could achieve that."
Zhao Jiayan was a bit skeptical, but all of this was just her conjecture without any evidence, so she didn't insist on her theory.
"Let it be, as long as we can live well, I'm satisfied."
Saying this, she sighed: "When Earth merged with this world, I was just in my junior year of college, only twenty years old. Who would've thought such a fantastical thing would happen? Even if someone told me it was the work of a deity, I might have believed it."
Yang Yuan smiled: "Come help, don't let this bird die."
