My Hitman System

Chapter 199: Neon City (E)

'Hmmm… this is weird,' Jin thought with a frown as he picked up his luggage from the conveyor belt. Most of the people around him were giving him a second look and whispering something to themselves.

'Well, it's true that I'm an actor, but it's been three months since I've appeared in public, nor have I done any advertisements… this doesn't make sense,' Jin thought to himself as he made his way out through the exit gate.

"Mom, look! It's Agent Jin!" a child exclaimed excitedly outside while pointing towards Jin.

A little taken aback, Jin turned towards the family of two who were waiting in line at the departure gate.

A fourteen-year-old child was stretching his mother's arm and was haphazardly pulling her towards Jin.

While the child's eyes contained excitement, the mother's eyes were too shocked, and she let herself be pulled by her son.

"You're Agent Jin, right?! I'm a huge fan!" the boy exclaimed with delight. By now, Jin was able to figure out that the boy was talking about the latest movie in which he acted as a spy.

'Wasn't my codename Victor in the movie?' Jin thought with a frown but shook that thought away soon after. 'Whatever, it looks like the movie did very well.'

"Yes, I am," Jin said with a smile and asked, "Want to take a picture with me?"

"I really can?" the boy asked with beaming eyes.

"Of course you can," Jin chuckled at his reaction.

"Mom! Give me your phone, hurry!" the boy exclaimed eagerly and soon took the phone from his mother's hand, who was still processing the fact that she was casually able to meet a celebrity at the airport.

"Here," the boy passed the phone to Jin, who took it familiarly and then bent on one knee while opening the selfie camera on the device.

"Say cheese!" Jin smiled brightly.

"CHEEEESE!"

The boy eagerly did the same, and Jin clicked several pictures the next moment.

With that done, he glanced at the boy's mother, who was looking towards him hesitantly, and asked her, "Ma'am, would you like to take a picture as well?"

"I'd love to," the mother said with a trace of excitement. She had been too overwhelmed earlier and was finding it difficult to request Jin for another photograph. She, too, just like her son, became a fan when she watched his latest movie.

"Haha, let's do it then," Jin stood up and took a few selfies with both the mother and son before handing the phone back to the mother.

"Thank you for watching the film," Jin waved his hand at them and was about to go when he realised that several people were also rushing towards him from other directions, and many were taking his pictures.

'When did I become this famous…' Jin's eyes bulged out in surprise as he saw the rushing crowd. It was only after thirty minutes that he could finally wiggle his way out of the crowd and securely seat himself inside a taxi.

"Go to Hughes Hotel, please," Jin told the driver and rested back on the seat. It was the same hotel where he had been staying earlier.

He took out his phone the next moment and dialled Dylan. When he picked up, Jin greeted, "It's been a while. How are you doing?"

"You really were serious when you said you would be gone for a month… do you have any idea how many times I've tried to reach you?" Dylan answered in an irritated manner.

"Yes, I was enjoying my vacation," Jin chuckled as he asked, "You sound irritated. Did my absence end up troubling you?"

"You bet it did! Do you know how many calls I've been receiving daily after your movie came out? The number is in the hundreds! Not only that, do you know how many sample scripts have been sent to my office by various scriptwriters? That number has also exceeded hundreds! And the commercial requests? More than a hundred of those, too. So tell me, how could I not feel irritated when I've been going through all this every day!" Dylan said with frustration, but there was also a hint of delight in his words.

"The movie did really well, it seems. I haven't checked the internet in the past few months, and it was only when I was surrounded by a crowd in the airport that I realised it," Jin replied.

"Well? More like it stole the spotlight! You must have been living under a rock these months, not to have any idea about it. It's been a month since its release, but instead of dying down, your film is gaining more and more momentum.

You were even given a moniker by the fans as they felt the name really suited you. Agent Jin, that's what they call you nowadays," Dylan explained with a smirk.

"Hahaha, I was so confused when I heard them calling me that the first time. Now, it all makes sense, but damn, I didn't think it would be this famous," Jin muttered in shock.

"Well, now you do. Anyway, where are you now?" Dylan asked all of a sudden. "There are loads of movie scripts you need to go through before we can decide on your next film."

"I came back from Alkaran today only, and I'm on my way to the hotel right now," Jin said from the other side of the phone.

"Oh, you came today only? It's already one in the afternoon, so how about you come and have dinner at my home tonight? We can also discuss the things you've missed during this period," Dylan suggested.

"Sounds great to me, I'll be there by seven," Jin readily agreed and put down his phone.

A while later, he arrived at the familiar hotel and was about to pay the driver when he saw him waving his hand.

"Hmm? Is there a problem?" Jin asked with a frown.

"Not that… instead of paying me, can you take a photograph with me instead? My wife is a huge fan of yours and would love to see it," the driver said while scratching the back of his head.

"Sure," Jin smiled, "that's no problem at all, but still accept the money since you've earned it." Jin tried to give the money to the driver, but he refused once again.

"I don't dare. If my wife finds out that I took money from you, then she would make a tofu out of me," he chuckled while waving his hand in rejection.

Hearing him, Jin couldn't help but let out a chuckle and took a few pictures with the driver outside.

"She would love them a lot," the driver said with excitement as he glanced at the pictures in delight.

"Alright then, thanks for the free ride, and also send my regards to your wife as well for watching my movies," Jin waved his hand and left for the hotel lobby.
