Chapter 18: First Day of UA(Part 4)
Thankfully, it was now lunch, so we were halfway through the day. I ordered some Onigiri(rice balls) from the line, along with some tea, and then looked around for a table. All of them seemed to be full, though, and I didn't really feel like hanging around all the chatter and buzz. So, I climbed up some stairs, which took me to the roof of the building. Ah, there it was. Peace, quiet. Nothing but the wind and faint bird calls to be heard. I let out a content sigh, then went over to the edge, and sat down, crossing one leg under the other, and resting the tray in my lap. I blessed my food, and then dug in, enjoying the gentle breezes that came and went.

After a bit of time, I had finished eating, and now I was just enjoying the feeling of being outside, of being somewhere peaceful and quiet. Well, that was until I felt a pair of eyes on me. "....Kenji, right?" Hold up, hold up, wait a minute. I knew that voice. It's changed a bit over the years, but I still recognized it. "Katsuki...." I mentally sighed, figuring this wasn't going to be too good of an interaction, remembering the kid he had been in middle school. So, I grabbed my tray, and stood, then turned to leave. I wasn't dealing with his bull--"Wait, wait, just....hear me out for a moment?" He asked, his hands raised to his shoulder height, palms out, as if surrendering. I let out a small breath, but I stopped, and faced him with an unamused look. He rubbed the side of his neck, looked off to the side, and sighed, then looked back at me. "Listen, 'cause I'm only gonna say this once, dumbass. I know I was shitty when we were kids, and while this doesn't make up for it, I'm sorry. You don't have to forgive me, and I dont expect you to, but I just wanted to say that, after realizing I used to be an ass." I was silent for a moment before eventually speaking up. "You probably still are." Though, my tone wasn't it's usual cold, detached-self. In fact, it was almost.....dare I say, teasing? Was that it? But the weirdest thing was his reaction. He didn't blow up or yell at me or anything. He didn't react how he normally would. Instead, he smirked. It was a tiny smirk, but it was still a damn smirk.
