My Hero Academia: Nightmare Mode

Chapter 6: Enter: Himiko Toga

The morning sun rose over UA, casting a warm glow across the campus. Kikidori, as usual, kept to himself. The chaos of last night's sleepover had barely phased him. While most of Class 1-A was probably still recovering from Mina's antics, Kikidori decided to step out for some peace and quiet.

He walked through the streets, his hands shoved into his jacket pockets. He wasn't in his hero costume, just his casual clothes—a black hoodie, dark jeans, and sneakers. The streets were relatively empty, and the crisp air was refreshing.

Kikidori wasn't headed anywhere in particular, but he found himself walking toward a small convenience store. He figured he could grab something to drink and maybe some snacks for later.

The bell above the door jingled as he entered the store, the faint hum of a refrigerator and the quiet chatter of a radio filling the air. Kikidori grabbed a bottle of water and a bag of chips, paid at the counter, and stepped back outside.

That's when he felt it.

A presence.

Someone was following him.

Kikidori didn't react immediately, keeping his pace steady. He could hear the faint sound of footsteps behind him, light and playful, almost like a child skipping.

"Hi, Kikidori~!" a cheerful voice sang out.

Kikidori stopped in his tracks, his eyes narrowing slightly. He turned around slowly, his green and blue eyes locking onto the figure standing a few feet away.

It was her.

Himiko Toga.

She stood there with her usual twisted smile, her head tilted slightly, and her hands clasped behind her back. Her schoolgirl-like outfit and innocent demeanor clashed with the undeniable danger she radiated.

"Toga," Kikidori said flatly.

"Aww, you remembered my name!" she said, clasping her hands together as if he'd just confessed his undying love for her. "That makes me so happy, Kiki~!"

Kikidori's expression didn't change, but his muscles tensed. "What do you want?"

"What do I want?" she echoed, giggling. "Isn't it obvious? I want *you,* silly!"

Kikidori stared at her, unamused. "Not interested."

Toga pouted, placing a finger on her lips. "Oh, come on, don't be like that! I've been watching you, you know. You're so quiet, so mysterious, so... *perfect.*"

Kikidori didn't respond. Instead, he turned and began walking away.

"Wait, don't go!" Toga called out, skipping after him. "I'm serious! Let's date! Or kiss! Or get married! Or all three! What do you say, Kiki?"

Kikidori sighed, stopping again. He turned to face her, his eyes glowing faintly as a warning. "I'm not joking. Leave me alone."

But Toga didn't back off. In fact, his glowing eyes seemed to excite her even more.

"Ooh, your quirk is so cool!" she said, her grin widening. "You know, I've always loved dangerous guys. And you're the most dangerous one I've ever seen!"

Kikidori took a step back, his patience wearing thin. "Go away."

Toga tilted her head, her golden eyes sparkling mischievously. "You're so cold! But that's okay—I like a challenge!"

Before Kikidori could react, Toga closed the distance between them in a flash. She stood on her tiptoes and leaned in close.

"Kiki," she whispered, her voice soft and sweet, "if you won't date me... at least let me give you a little something to remember me by."

And then she did it.

Toga kissed him on the cheek.

Kikidori froze, his eyes widening slightly. The kiss was quick, but the gesture was enough to make his sharp canines clench in frustration. Toga giggled, pulling back and spinning playfully on her heels.

"There! Now we're connected forever!" she said, her voice filled with glee.

Kikidori wiped his cheek with his sleeve, glaring at her. "You're insane."

"Aww, you're just saying that because you're shy!" Toga teased, winking at him. "Anyway, I'll see you around, Kiki~! Don't miss me too much!"

Before he could say another word, she turned and skipped away, disappearing into the shadows as quickly as she had appeared.

Kikidori stood there for a moment, his fists clenched and his mind racing. He hated how unpredictable she was, how she could throw him off balance without even trying.

He muttered under his breath, "What a pain."

Shaking his head, Kikidori adjusted his hoodie and continued walking back toward UA. He didn't look back, but the lingering feeling of her presence stayed with him.

This wasn't the last time he'd see her—he was sure of it.
