Chapter 8: Infinite Energy and Endless Love
At the foot of the mountain once cloaked by a dense forest, a domed building materialized out of thin air. The structure, spanning about 300 square meters, stood out starkly against the surrounding greenery.
This sudden apparition was Kahn's gravity training room, a space designed for rigorous exercise. The interior was sparse, except for a console near one wall.
"It's not very spacious, but it's perfect for my training needs," Kahn remarked, his gaze sweeping across the room with satisfaction.
"Honey, there's nothing here. How do you train?" Vados asked, a perplexed expression on her beautiful face.
Kahn chuckled, "It's a gravity training room. You can apply multiple levels of gravity for training."
He approached the console, with Vados following closely. After skimming the manual prepared by Bulma, Kahn found the controls straightforward. A green button for "on" and a red one for "off," along with numbered buttons from 1 to 50 to adjust the gravity multiplier.
"Even a novice can handle this," Kahn noted, pressing the green start button, followed by the number two gravity multiplier.
Hum!
As the double gravity took effect, Kahn felt his shoulders sink slightly. "This is nothing," he muttered, finding it too easy. He then pressed the button for ten times gravity.
Instantly, the room's gravity increased tenfold, and Kahn felt the pressure intensify. "This feels just right," he thought, feeling the weight on his shoulders as a good match for his current strength.
However, a sudden realization struck him. "Vados!"
He had been so focused on testing the gravity settings that he had forgotten about her. "It's over!" he thought, panic rising as he turned to check on her.
To his astonishment, Vados stood beside him, seemingly unaffected. She looked as serene as ever, her posture as graceful as a lotus.
"Honey, are you… all right?" Kahn asked, bewildered.
"What?" Vados responded, her eyes wide in confusion.
"I just turned on ten times the gravity. Didn't you feel it?" Kahn explained.
Vados raised an eyebrow, genuinely surprised. "Oh, I must have not noticed it at first," she said, trying to sound casual.
Then, she visibly strained, her body starting to tremble. "Ah… husband… this is… quite heavy," she gasped, her breathing becoming labored as she sank to her knees, trying to maintain composure.
Kahn quickly turned off the gravity and rushed to her side, lifting her head onto his lap. "Are you okay, my love? Do you feel any pain?" he asked urgently.
Vados clutched her chest, her breath coming in shallow gasps. "It's… a bit difficult to breathe…"
"I'm so sorry. I should have been more careful," Kahn said, his voice filled with guilt. He began checking her pulse and breathing, his heart pounding with fear.
After a tense few moments, Vados' breathing stabilized, and the color returned to her cheeks. "Are you okay now?" Kahn asked softly.
Vados opened her eyes, a gentle smile forming on her lips. "Yes, I'm fine. It was just a bit overwhelming," she replied, her cheeks flushed.
Kahn sighed in relief, then asked, "What happened just now?"
Vados took a deep breath, her expression returning to its usual calm. "I think the sudden change just caught me off guard. I'm not used to such intense training conditions," she said, making a plausible excuse.
Kahn shook his head, a smile playing on his lips. "That must be it," he said, completely believing the lie Vados told him. "I'm sorry for my carelessness. Please forgive me."
"It's okay, everyone makes mistakes. Don't blame yourself," Vados reassured him with a warm smile.
Kahn gazed at her with deep affection. Vados' understanding and forgiving nature made him vow to cherish her even more. He then lifted her in his arms, carrying her in a princess hold.
"I'll take you to rest. No training today. I'll stay with you," he said gently.
"Really, I'm fine. If you want to train, you should," Vados insisted, concerned for his progress.
But Kahn was resolute. "No, today I'm staying with you," he said, his voice firm yet tender.
As he carried her out, Kahn couldn't help but think how lucky he was to have such a considerate and understanding wife. Vados' broad-mindedness and support filled him with gratitude and determination to become stronger, for her and for their future.
"It doesn't matter if I don't train for a day or two. I mainly want to be with you," Kahn said.
With such a beautiful and considerate wife, if the Dragon Ball world weren't so dangerous, Kahn would love to spend every day by her side without training. Unfortunately, this is the world of Dragon Ball—a place where the strong can easily destroy worlds, stars, and even the universe. Without training to become stronger, he couldn't protect himself, let alone his wife.
"Hehe~" Vados was amused and smiled, "Husband is so kind."
…
In these warm, daily routines of training, growing vegetables, and spending time with his wife, a year quietly slipped by. During this year, Kahn never missed a single day of signing-in with his system and keeping up with his training. As a result, his strength improved rapidly.
"System, do the daily check-in."
[ Ding! Congratulations to the host for completing the daily check-in and receiving the daily reward: 1000 combat power improvement cards. ]
[ Ding! Congratulations to the host for signing in for one year and receiving the reward: unlimited energy. ]
"Huh, unlimited energy? This is amazing!" Kahn was ecstatic upon hearing this.
Unlimited energy is akin to the infinite energy device that Dr. Gero installed in the bodies of Androids 17 and 18. With this, Kahn would never have to worry about energy and stamina in future battles. He could use various energy attacks without the fear of depletion. This is equivalent to having unlimited MP.
Moreover, infinite energy isn't just useful for combat, but also for other activities.
( A/N: Ayo… you dirty dog)
The one-year sign-in reward was a pleasant surprise. As for why the daily sign-in reward is 1000 combat power improvement cards, Kahn had figured this out long ago. The sign-in system issues daily rewards based on Kahn's own strength improvements.
[Host: Kahn.
Age: 26 years old.
Bloodline: Advanced Saiyan bloodline.
Combat strength: 680,365.
Skills: Breathing Control, Flying Technique, Infinite Energy, Instant Transmission…]
"Well, it's coming together quite nicely." Looking at his completely updated attribute panel, Kahn nodded with satisfaction.
Through a year's worth of daily check-ins to obtain combat power improvement cards, and rigorous training in the gravity training room, Kahn's combat power had skyrocketed from an unremarkable 5,300 to a staggering 680,000.
But Kahn wasn't satisfied with just 680,000 combat power. This insignificant power level wasn't even close to matching one of Frieza's fingers in his final form. To take down Frieza and avenge Bardock and Gine, 680,000 combat power wasn't nearly enough.
But…
"The improvement of strength doesn't happen overnight. Let's get to work first," Kahn muttered to himself as he walked out of the room.
The vegetables in the garden were almost ripe, and today was the day to harvest them. Kahn planned to pick all the vegetables and transport them to the West City Farmer's Market for sale. This was one of his few current sources of income. After all, money was still necessary for living.
"Husband, wake up, let's have breakfast," Vados' sweet and pleasant voice called out as soon as he left the room.
Today, Vados was wearing a pink and white T-shirt, her impressive figure faintly visible, sparking the imagination. Her delicate face was slightly powdered, and a charming smile adorned her, truly stunning.
After more than a year of marriage, Vados looked as beautiful as ever, even more so than before.
Kahn nodded with a smile, "I won't train today. I'll collect the vegetables after breakfast."
