Kobayashi and Darkness were walking on the road leading to the plains outside of town.

They were going to collect ore.

They had salvaged quite a few usable parts from the [Supreme Throne]. He had been wondering if they could be applied to Darkness's adamantite armor, so he went to the blacksmith Bill (from Chapter 2) to ask if he could reforge it.

Bill, who loved forging equipment, was astounded when he saw the parts. He immediately said it was no problem and that he could definitely forge the best armor, then gave them a list of numerous ore materials to go and mine.

Kobayashi wasn't expecting him to be able to forge equipment on par with a Teigu, but strengthening a companion's abilities was still an excellent thing.

"I'm sorry, to have to trouble you like this, Kobayashi." Darkness scratched her cheek, a little embarrassed.

Kobayashi was startled.

Puzzled, he picked her up and carried her to a nearby tree to rest, letting her lean against the trunk.

Looking at her serene and noble sleeping face, he thought to himself:
