My Favorite Has Started A Live Broadcast!

Chapter 49 - Strike While the Iron is Hot... Or Get Screwed!

After finishing my conversation with Aro and Eunah-unnie, I left the café.

I was about to pay, but the manager informed me that Eunah-unnie had already settled the bill, so I had no choice but to head out.

Aro went into the break room to talk with the manager.

Carrying Strawberry in my arms, I matched my pace with Eunah-unnie as we walked home together.

“…….Hey.”

“Yes?”

When we reached the vicinity of my home, Eunah-unnie stopped walking and turned to look at me.

“Do you know what’s going to happen after the tournament?”

“…….?”

I tilted my head, signaling I had no idea, and Eunah-unnie sighed, starting to walk again as she explained.

“There’ll be an after-party. Unless everyone’s on bad terms, it’s almost certain. A lot of people on your team are close, right?

There’s that loud streamer Yoon Gae, Ninima… Those two have always fought but broadcast together. Gunkoo got close because Yoon Gae kept chatting him up. You and your favorite idol keep a friendly enough relationship, so you’ll definitely attend. Got it?”

“Oh….. Then I’ll get to meet Chocoa…?”

“It’s Choi Ga-young.”

“…Excuse me? What is?”

“Chocoa’s real name. Anyway, take care.”

While we talked, we had arrived at my doorstep, and Unnie waved before heading up the hill.

I stood there, absorbing the unexpected piece of information I’d just received.

Chocoa’s real name…? Pretty name… but no, is it real? Really? She’s never revealed it on a broadcast before??

I wondered if there was a stream I’d missed, but aside from the one month I was in the hospital, I’d watched all of them. During that month, I even badgered the viewers until I found out everything I’d missed from replays that had disappeared.

“Then how does she know….”

While my mind spun over how Eunah-unnie had learned the name Choi Ga-young, a notification rang on my phone.

Thinking, just maybe, that it could be from Chocoa, I lifted my phone with trembling hands, but it wasn’t her.

Landlord – Secret

It simply said “Secret,” as if knowing I’d been wondering how she knew.

“…….Ah… I should change the name…”

I noticed I hadn’t updated the contact name for Eunah-unnie, so I corrected it from “Landlord” and entered the house.

“Sigh…. Is this really right…”

No matter how I thought about it, there was no real answer as to whether the name was real.

But since Eunah-unnie wouldn’t lie about something like that, I decided to believe it and placed the now 70%-melted Strawberry on the pillow.

She seemed slightly larger than when I’d first set her on the pillow, though she was still tiny, like me. I’ll feed her more.

“Sigh… I give up, let’s clean!”

Naturally, I changed into my cat pajamas and quickly tidied up both my place and my sister’s room.

The coffee, which she usually doesn’t drink, sat on her desk—she must have really had a mock exam today, as she’d mentioned that morning.

Judging by the aroma, it was likely a sugary coffee with every sweet-sounding name mixed in.

I took a sniff and caught the sweet vanilla scent.

There’s a saying about striking while the iron is hot.

With that in mind, I closed the curtains halfway, darkening the room enough to comfort my melting Strawberry, then sat down at my computer.

Vrrrrrrrrrr……. Dee-dee-ding!

As the computer hummed to life, I heard the familiar startup chime. The first-place tournament prize was a fancy, high-end computer…

I couldn’t deny feeling a bit greedy.

Click, click-

As my standard four-star mouse, which could probably be ordered from Coupang for around 3,000 won, made an unusually loud clicking sound, Twitch came online.

“Hmm…..”

‘Baraa has started a live broadcast!’

– Decide amongst yourselves

People in the community passed the time chatting among themselves until a worthwhile stream began.

When a big broadcast started, they would gather there and talk about it. Recently, the hot topic was, of course, Baraa, but Chocoa’s broadcast was also getting some discussion.

[Because of Baraa]

Because of Baraa, I ended up watching Chocoa’s stream, and it’s pretty decent. Her voice is clean, and the vibe is peaceful. I just don’t really get the obsession;;

-It’s a good stream, but for some reason, it’s not as popular as it should be.

-Aren’t they kind of similar? Both are great streamers but lack something extra.

GrammarFiend – It’s “clean,” by the way. Thanks for your attention to detail.

-Noted, Captain Obvious.

Opinions on Baraa’s stream were mixed in the community as well. Viewers liked watching Baraa, but there were complaints that even when they donated, she rarely reacted during gameplay.

Sometimes, she’d acknowledge donations right before ending the stream with a quick “thanks.”

So, while donations came in moderately, it wasn’t overwhelming.

Despite that, people gathered in droves on this Monday afternoon as Baraa went live.

As usual, there was a pitch-black screen with the sound of a clicking mouse.

After a while, a creak from her chair sounded, and the screen shifted, revealing Baraa in a pure white cat pajama.

“Hello, seems like a lot of you are here, even though it’s a mock exam day.”

-LOL, the students must be crying today LOL

-Watching from the bathroom right now.

“…..It’ll be over soon, so focus, hurry along.”

Waving her hand in her white outfit, with pink jelly pads visible on her fingers, Baraa sent viewers into a frenzy.

-What exactly are we deciding on?

“Donation reactions…? Stuff like that, and where to use points.”

-OOOOoooooo

-Finally….!

-Meow!

“Meow…? Is that supposed to be a reaction…..?”

Baraa tilted her head in confusion, as if she couldn’t comprehend it, which only fueled the excitement in the chat.

-Raise your hand and say meow!

Caught off-guard by the flood of chat messages and donations, Baraa reluctantly granted the viewers’ request, and they immediately tried to solidify it as her official reaction.

“Uh… This is way too embarrassing…”

Blushing, Baraa put her hood up to hide her face, stirring an even bigger response from the viewers. They demanded clips, while an animated red character flashed a thumbs-up on screen, baring its teeth.

“I…I won’t do this often… I really appreciate the donations, but… I’m really embarrassed….”

-Aw, this is awesome; this is real streaming.

-Make this an expensive reaction! My paycheck this month…

-A thousand won should be fair, right?

-Only a thousand won for an adorable cat reaction from a silver-haired, red-eyed beauty?!!!

-The price is too low, honestly, let’s say 10,000?

-10?

Aroalo-10g

Watching the escalating intensity in the chat, Su-yeon thought it might be worth the embarrassment if she earned 100,000 won for it.

“Ahem… Alright, we’ll go with that for now… but what about the rest? Should I just say ‘thank you’ or ‘thanks’ for those?”

-Let’s set it at 1,000 won or 10,000 won and decide the points.

-Heh-heh…

“Seriously, it’s mine.”

-Heh-heh…

-Heh-heh…

-Hehe

-Heh-heh…

“Hehe… It’s mine…”

Suddenly, Baraa’s unique mannerism was taken over by viewers, leaving her looking slightly dejected.

For several minutes afterward, she discussed reactions with the viewers. Some felt a simple “thank you” was sufficient, while others supported adding other reactions. I leaned toward the latter and thought of possible reactions.

“Hmm… What do other people do?”

-Yoon Gae just yells or does random stuff.

-Please don’t imitate that.

-Ninima waves a fan LOL

It seemed most streamers matched their reactions to their personalities or stream themes, and I thought I should, too.

After all, I’m an FPS-focused streamer, specializing in Lesik.

-Why not base your reactions on something you enjoy?

“Chocoa..?”

-LOL she’s talking about love LOL

“Hmm… Hold on a sec…”

I got up from my chair to search through my storage.

“Let’s see… I think I had one from way back…”

Shuffling through various odds and ends that looked like things you’d find in the countryside, I eventually located an item.

The thing every boy dreams of and begs their mom to buy at least once in their life…

A BB gun.

It was a small pistol BB gun, the kind you could buy for 3,000 won at the local stationery store, but it still held a certain nostalgic charm.

I blew the dust off the orange muzzle, scattering dust particles.

“Cough! Cough… Whew…”

After dusting it off, I returned to my room and sat back in my chair.

-????

-Why do you even have that…?

-LMAO it’s been so long since I’ve seen one of those LOL

“It’s nostalgia. So how about this as a reaction? I mean, I’m an FPS streamer, after all.”

-? Isn’t your stream supposed to be soothing?

“……..Whatever, I’m doing this….. But how should I actually use it?”

-Bang?

“Bang…? Hmm… I’ll try.”

I lightly rested my finger on the trigger and aimed at the camera. To add to the effect, I pulled my right hand back as if bracing against an imaginary stock on my shoulder.

My friends, who were about to enlist in the military, would probably have a meltdown if they saw my impeccable form, and I mimicked the sound softly as I moved my finger.

“Bang!”
