Chapter 625
Anton joined his family for lunch, and after, they all went to one of the manor's salons overlooking the garden. He remembered to cast his Mana Rain, as according to Mr. Jenkins, everyone loved the sound of the rain hitting the garden. Not only that, but everyone also loved the smell of the flowers that surrounded the whole manor once the mana water was rained on them. Even the fruit orchard was emitting a unique scent combination of different fruits, which was highly intoxicating.
That was one of the reasons why Laloniah and some of her elven friends kept spending time in the manor. They did not even go to the manor itself, but mostly walked around the gardens and the fruit orchards, and because everyone knew that Anton and Anders were generous, they let the elves be. Besides, everyone knew that having the young elven girls in the gardens and orchard was making the whole manor much more aesthetically pleasing.
"What is happening in Mendoza, Anton?" Luna asked, and Anton could see that the teenage girl and her sibling, Alfred, were extremely curious.
They were all resting in the salon, drinking tea, and Mrs. Noria was considerate enough to make sure that there were pastries ready to be eaten by everyone in the salon. The ones in the salon were Anders and his two vice-captains, Daniel and Ingrid, Luna, Alfred, and Mr. Normandy.
Romina and her maid Iris were in the cinema making sure that the business was running perfectly while Bruce and Susan were in the shop that sells products that came from the fruit orchard. The flower shop was still managed by the gardener who brought up the idea. The gardener was already promoted to shop manager.
Anton could understand Luna and Alfred's curiosity because, like most citizens of Ormunda, they were not deeply aware of what was happening. They knew that the undead were attacking the kingdom, but they did not know the gory details.
For a few seconds, Anton looked at the two siblings, considering whether he should be honest with them. He looked at Anders, and his father nodded, as if permitting Anton to tell the truth. So that's what Anton did. He described to all of them that a humongous undead horde kept attacking the west wall of Mendoza two times a night, which would start at 6 in the evening until 11, then the undead would retreat and would start attacking again, starting at midnight until five in the morning.
He described to them the gruesomeness of the undead army that consisted of all kinds of powerful undead, including powerful spellcasters like high-level vampires, undead liches, necromancers, and more. Anton told them that every night, the wizards and warriors of Mendoza were doing their best to make sure that the west wall of Mendoza kept standing because if they failed, the kingdom would fall, and the citizens of Mendoza would have to flee or else they would either turn into food or undead.
Anton told them how the Undead Coalition seemed not to run out of monsters that would attack the kingdom. He noticed that Luna and Alfred were getting frightened, so Anton alleviated their worries by telling them that the Mendoza's wizards were powerful.
Taken from Royal Road, this narrative should be reported if found on Amazon.
"Every night, I would stand inside a powerful magic array on top of the wall that increases my spell's range and power. I would hurt my spells at the undead army nonstop for several hours, and there are thousands of us wizards on top of the wall. The powerful warriors of Mendoza were at the bottom of the wall, making sure that no undead would come near the wall."
"You can cast spells nonstop for five hours?!" Alfred exclaimed.
"Well, yes. That's what I've been doing inside the dungeon anyway. That's how I manage to afford to buy the Rose Manor."
"I wish I were a wizard," Alfred said forlornly.
"I thought you wanted to be a powerful warrior like Uncle Anders?" Luna asked her brother.
"You don't need to worry. Once you're older, I'll train you to become one of the most powerful warriors in Ormunda," Anders said to the boy.
Thankfully, the topic was diverted, and after a while, Luna and Alfred left with the copies of the next episodes of Avatar: The Last Airbender. Once the two children left, Anton, his father, and his two vice-captains kept talking about the situation in Mendoza.
"Do you really believe that Mendoza would fall?" Ingrid asked Anton.
"I truly don't know what to believe, but the kingdom kept on being passive. Every night, we keep on defending the walls from this huge undead army, and I truly feel like we're wasting time. I don't believe that the Undead Coalition didn't have any sinister plan behind the nightly attacks. In my opinion, we shouldn't wait for the undead to perfect any plans they might be hatching, and instead, we should actively attack their base. According to some of the wizards I know, one of the reasons why the most powerful wizards, like Mendoza's Semi-Divine and Divine wizards, were not battling with their undead counterparts to try to drive them off the continent was because their battles would cause severe devastation on the land. In my opinion, that's bullshit. As long as the people are safe, any destruction could be fixed by magic."
"What are those? Semi-Divines and Divines? Divines meant gods, right?" Daniel asked.
"I didn't know as well, but apparently, the rank above Invincible Wizards is called Semi-Divines and the rank above that is called Divines."
"Does that mean that you'll become a god if you reach the Divine rank?" Ingrid asked, and since Anton also did not know, he just shrugged.
During the rest of the afternoon, they kept talking about a lot of things, like their current speed of powering up. Apparently, because of how Anders made everyone powered up extremely quickly, all of his men were extremely loyal to Anton's father. They did not even know how Anders managed to make them power up quickly, since only Daniel and Ingrid knew how the Insight Runeword spear worked.
After their talk, Anton returned to his room so he could go back to Mendoza to rest there. Once he was back in his apartment, he removed the note posted on his door stating that he was not to be disturbed, then he spent the next hour relaxing, and then he slept.
Anton then joined the wizards on top of the wall to defend the kingdom against the undead again. He had only been doing this kind of work for just a few weeks, and Anton was starting to get bored. He knew he should not be asking for something major to happen because that would mean that something dire had happened, and he did not want anyone to die, but doing the same thing every night truly felt like a waste of time.
After the undead horde had retreated, Anton returned to his apartment after giving Cedon a tablet of dire wolf summoning. The first thing he did was spend several hours crafting tablets of dire wolf summoning. He also crafted a few tablets of tiny spirit wolf and tiny ravens. He planned to give people in the manor those as gifts. When he was done creating a few tablets of summoning, he returned to leveling up his ladder Amazon character until he needed to sleep. He managed to level up his Amazon character to level seventy-two.
