Chapter 615
Anton and his father went to a high-class restaurant near the cinema together with a couple of Anders's mercenaries acting as their bodyguard. At first, Anton complained that they did not need bodyguards since the area in Ormunda where they were was orderly, since it was home to rich merchants and some low-ranking wizards of the kingdom, who ventured into business.
"We have to bring them since it's expected. Our family is now considered wealthy in these parts due to our three businesses. Especially the cinema," Anders said.
"Did you know that your father received a lot of proposals from the ladies?! Especially when they learned that he was already in his mid-forties instead of what he looked like, which was early twenties," One of Anders's men said.
"What astonished us most is that most of those young women who wanted to get close to your father only do so because they wanted to be the first ones to watch the movies!" The second bodyguard said while shaking his head in amazement.
Anton laughed out loud when he heard that information, and his father just glared at him and his two men. The two bodyguards were sitting with them on their table in the restaurant, which was normal enough since Anders was head of a mercenary slash adventurer group, and most leaders of such groups usually don't conform to noble etiquette even if they were nobles, and business establishments in Ormunda had gotten used to it.
When the food they ordered arrived, they busied themselves eating. After a few minutes, Anders suddenly asked one of the bodyguards why he was looking sad. Anton didn't notice since most of Anders's men were stone-faced professionals, and he couldn't fathom any change in their mood.
"I thought we were going to watch the movie," The man whispered.
The second bodyguard stared at his colleague.
"You've seen that movie twice!"
"The movie is just so great! It made me want to become a magic student in that magic school!"
Anton found it a little weird that Harry Potter fans had the same desire as children fans of the books and even the movies back on Earth. He found it weird because there were actual magic schools in this world.
"You've already spent the majority of your stipend on the cinema!" the second bodyguard exclaimed.
"You're making your mercenaries pay for the cinema?" Anton asked his father.
"Yes, but I gave them an eighty percent discount. Romina insisted that even if they're part of my group, they should still pay," Anders murmured.
"It's fine, young master. Our stipend can cover that little expense, and normally, one watch is enough, but some of us wanted to watch the films more than once, like this bozo here," the second bodyguard said.
They returned to the Rose Manor soon after, and Anton spent the rest of the afternoon in one of the salons facing the gardens. He played his guitar, sang some songs while his father listened, ate some snacks, and some of them were even the ones that the cooks prepared, copying the Earth's recipes that Anton had shown them using his globe of browser sharing. Once in a while, he cast the Blizzard spell converted into Mana rain towards the garden and the fruit orchard because the sound of rain splashing into the ground was relaxing.

They spent the whole afternoon idling that way, and Anton's father even said that it was a much-needed rest since they had all been busy these past weeks. Anton is defending the walls of Mendoza, and Anders and his mercenary group are delving into the dungeon. Luna and Alfred only briefly joined them since they were too busy hanging out with their friends, talking about cosplaying characters and the upcoming movies. Whenever the two were in a group, they were the center of attention since they kept boasting about the things they had already seen.
Early the next day, after an extensive goodbye to everyone, Anton left. The moment he was out of the gate of Ormunda, he immediately flew to Mendoza, casting spells behind him to boost his speed.
He stopped for a moment when he saw the army of the next batch of "Special Forces" from Ormunda. Some people noticed him and pointed at him, but since Anton did not want to be late and get scolded, after a few seconds of watching the army, he immediately resumed his journey.
Thankfully, he arrived at Mendoza before the sun had set. When he entered the gates, he immediately hired a carriage and went directly to his apartment, since that was also where his wizard squad members were located. He wanted to report to Cedon because he was mostly his point of contact with the team. He didn't even know if they had a captain, like his previous squad.
Thankfully, it was easy enough for Anton to find Cedon. After he reported his presence, the young Supreme Wizard held out his hands.
"What?!" Anton asked, baffled at the wizard's action.
"You were gone three days. That meant that you need to submit three dire wolf tablets."
"I can only submit two since the gold material you gave me has run out!" Anton stubbornly said.
If he was being honest, he still had around twelve tablets of Dire Wolf summoning in his inventory. He had made them before he left because he did not want to scramble if, for some reason, Mendoza's higher-ups suddenly asked him for a bunch of them.
Cedon glared at him and then handed him a ring.
"What's this?"
"It's a spatial ring that contained 300 golden tablets and 300,000 gold coins as payment for the tablets. The ring's yours as well."
Anton grinned and stored the spatial ring in his pocket. It was only around six in the evening, so he still had time to rest before his shift that night. Once he was back at his apartment, he transferred the golden tablets and the gold coins in his inventory and stored the ring as well. He planned to give it either to Luna or Alfred. In all the hullabaloo that happened, Anton had forgotten to buy gifts for everyone. Anders just said that it was understandable since he did not go to a vacation spot but to a place of war. Still, Luna and Alfred looked a little disappointed. After eating dinner and taking a bath, he slept while the Pearl of the Ocean was placed on his bedside table.
He woke up at around ten in the evening fully rested. When Anton went to his station, the first thing that he did was summon all of his minions, which caused the warriors near them to cheer. His summons was extremely powerful and was a great help to the warriors defending the walls of Mendoza.
Anton briefly wondered where the dire wolf summoned by the tablets had gone. He did not see them in the center section of the Western Wall. He thought that their owners might have used them in some other place since the center section was truly dangerous. Even his minions, who were very powerful, died a lot of times. In their defense, Anton did command them to defend the warriors even if it cost them their lives since he could easily summon them again.
At the stroke of midnight, the undead horde arrived at the horizon. They were as gigantic and scary-looking as the first time Anton saw them. The moment the undead army was in his spell range, he immediately started casting his spells.
