My Demon Husband Is a Snake

Chapter 34 The Very Old Snake

"Granny Wu has lived so many years in vain, why is she so damn nosy?" Yu Longting raised an eyebrow, caught me off guard by grabbing my chin, and kissed my lips, "I'll go get your dignity back for you. This will also serve as a warning to those Mystic Sect folks to show some respect to their elders."

Suddenly, my old face turned red.

I felt incredibly ashamed at his words.

My actions resembled that of a primary school student tattling to the teacher.

Yu Longting looked at my flushed cheeks and let out a low chuckle, kissing me again, "But what she said was true."

Yu Longting's hand loosened from my chin, and I immediately buried my head, wishing the ground would swallow me up. I wondered if I had wrongly blamed Granny Wu.

"Here we are, follow me." Yu Longting took my hand as we got out of the car and he strode ahead.

I followed, somehow feeling that his silhouette was particularly imposing.

My mother and I had lived as widow and orphan all these years; never before had anyone so towering stood before me, willing to stand up and protect me like this.

From the other sleeve of Yu Longting, a continuous stream of black snakes flew out.

The Black Snakes were sharp-headed and long-bodied, their scales giving off a chilling gleam.

They looked utterly terrifying.

In an instant, thousands of them surrounded Granny Wu's residence.

People inside Granny Wu's place began to scream in horror, and men and women, about four or five, ran out each going their separate ways.

Seeing the snakes outside, they were even more scared out of their wits.

"Snakes, so many snakes, oh my, why are there so many outside too?"

"Did Granny Wu Mi offend some big shot from the snake world? We came here to ask about rice and now we're caught up in this mess, such awful luck."

The group didn't realize that Grandpa Snake Lord was right in front of them as they frantically ran for their lives.

Fortunately, the black snakes, as scary as they were, did not harm these people.

Turns out Granny Wu was actually a fortune-telling Granny Mi. And here I thought she was a tailor like my father.

But why did my mother send me to a fortune-teller before becoming a tailor?

Yu Longting led me into Granny Wu's house and the moment I entered, I was startled and quickly hid behind Yu Longting.

I saw that from the rice bucket on the table, snakes were continuously emerging.

Colorful little snakes kept popping their heads out one by one, their bodies twisting on the table and the floor.

Granny Wu sat on the chair beside the table, her handful of rice completely green and moldy, matching her ashen face.

I sensed that she wasn't just startled, but was infuriated to the point of near death.

"Tsk, you little girl, you've grown so much?" Yu Longting looped an arm around my waist, holding me securely in his embrace.

The snakes, which were quite curious about me, now stared with sinister eyes.

At that moment, however, they all retreated into the corners as if struck with a sudden chill.

I dumbfoundedly watched Yu Longting.

Was he calling Granny Wu a little girl?

Could it be that this guy is actually a very, very old snake?

Granny Wu looked up, lifelessly, and sighed, "Snake Lord, it's been decades since we last saw each other. Why ruin my business like this, and it was such a big deal too~"

"Fine and dandy? Am I such an unreasonable person?" Yu Longting's eyes, though reckless, bore a terrifying authority when he looked down.

Granny Wu's body shuddered violently, and when she saw me, she stared at my stomach and her lips turned purple with fear, "Of course, you're not an unreasonable person, uh... could it be... could it possibly be that the child in Su Wan's belly is... yours?"
