My Cyber Psychosis is Task Prompt

Chapter 138: The Refined Tyrant

The time before dawn is the most sensitive.

Night shift employees have just put on their jackets and walked out of the money pit, and customers who are dead drunk will crawl out from neon-less corners to prepare to head home, making the streets noisy again.

People release their remaining sensibility under the cover of darkness, fearing the sunlight will rise in the next second.

The radio calls this feeling "dawn anxiety".

John ascended the escalator of the Bolago Club, brushed past the skewed customers in the mall, and walked through the glass door of the Tipsy Bikini bar.

He happened to bump into someone causing trouble.

It was a thug in a vest, with slicked-back hair.

"...I don't fucking want trouble either, just bring me a plate of this kind of meat, are you deaf? Why the fuck didn't I see this stuff on the bar menu."

He pointed to the seat by the bar.

Gino was sitting there.

Opposite him was Angelica with the drinks.

The table was filled with sizzling ribs, accompanied by fruits and sauces, exuding an aroma that could swallow the tongue.

"A hidden menu, only members have the privilege. This stuff is too dangerous for you."

Angelica crossed her legs.

Her glass was vibrant, matching her shiny jacket, and her snow-white thighs extended down, resting her feet on the edge of the stool, dangling a high heel.

Gino, in a tank top, put down his knife and fork.

"Shut your mouth, you idiot, don't affect my appetite for food..."

She grew up in a boxing gym, with a bit of a short temper.

A few people by the bar's pool table heard this immediately put down their cues, clutching their unfinished bottles, and surrounded with menace.

The thug frowned as he walked in front.

"Wow, that's quite a mouth you got there, let me offer you some other meat to taste!"

He lifted his pants and pulled down the zipper.

There weren't many customers left in the bar at this early morning hour, and those who were left were teetering on the edge of unconsciousness.

The neon lights had stopped flashing, leaving only two rows of light sources supporting the visibility of all the tables and chairs.

Angelica suddenly raised her glass in an inviting gesture.

The thug hadn't figured out the situation when he suddenly felt a sharp pain in his shoulder and then realized what being a "member" customer meant.

John had silently come up behind him and disarmed his shoulder joint.

The bone dislocation and scream abruptly awakened the half-asleep drunks, as countless gazes converged on the scene where a ragtag thug flipped over a collapsed table and fell to the floor.

Face-first.

Cheers erupted from all corners of the bar.

Another man drew a gun, but before he could squeeze the trigger, John's foot lifted and kicked the iron object precisely behind the bar.

John leaped off his tiptoes, shifting his weight in mid-air, and swung his other leg to kick the gun-holder to the ground as well.

"Shh~ Don't cry, and don't shout."

John held a finger to silence the last unlucky punk.

"I can't be bothered to hit you, do me a favor, settle the bill, and take these two idiots out, okay?"

"...Huh, shit!"

This guy knew better than to mess with John and quickly transferred the payment, helping his two gasping companions flee in haste.

Gino invited him to sit down.

John's rear had barely touched the sofa when he suddenly received a transfer from Angelica.

He shook his head at her helplessly.

"Just doing a small favor."

"Garbage disposal fee."

Angelica sipped her drink, folded her snow-white slender legs, and kicked aside the toppled stool.

"You're used to doing big deals, but handling small street troubles is actually the quickest way to make money, and in most cases... doesn't require you to risk your life."

John was left speechless.

Gino nearly choked on his ribs laughing.

She stabbed her fork through and remarked.

"John thinks you have already settled the payment in bed, and it's natural for him to clean up the thugs for you."

"Damn it."

John was inexplicably a bit embarrassed.

Angelica, however, shrugged calmly and continued enjoying her drink.

Gino laughed even more recklessly, patting John's shoulder.

"This is so fucking hilarious, brother, ever thought you might be the one offering services?"

"That's a bit hurtful."

John replied with a smile.

He couldn't get into the girls' topics, but wasn't blushing from their teasing either.

Angelica also remained calm.

She and John both sought solace from each other in bad moods without demanding anything extra.

After all, in Eden City, asking for a fixed true love is akin to playing a rogue.

No one had any objections to the current relationship.

"The new jacket looks stylish."

Angelica squinted her eyes teasingly.

She was the wealthiest among the group, dabbling in black and white trades alike.

"Custom-tailored handmade, right? Haven't seen such good stuff on the streets in years, give me a contact."

"Then you'll have to find the Spiritualist."

John's artificial eye flickered as he used the money he just got to order a few drinks and chatted with the two girls about Edward's story.

The specialty cocktails were served with a slice of lemon.

The drinks were brightly colored, paired with genuine vegetables, just looking at them made you want to buy them, way better than some shop in the city alley that doesn't even wash their glasses after using industrial alcohol.

Angelica indeed had the financial resources and connections.

The raw materials used in the bar weren't bad, making it the most popular bar in the Bolago Club's mall area. Even now, with Bone Shards in power, its position remains unshaken.

John finished the story with the meal.

"Thanks to you both, I can find someone to talk about these stupid things."

The two girls listened intently.

But there wasn't much emotional fluctuation.

As gang wars intensified, news channels even singled out the number of deaths from last night as the opening of their broadcasts every day.

Cyber psychos were everywhere; there was nothing much to be marveled at.
