My Cyber Psychosis is Task Prompt

Chapter 127: SAT and Threats

Time became stagnant once again.

John activated Sianweistan, the heat radiating from his spine throughout his body, with the swelling in his eardrums and eyeballs still within a bearable range.

The Rapid Runner submachine gun flipped in his palm.

The short barrel of the smart submachine gun pressed against the enemy's face.

The lunatics sensed the threat, also activating Sianweistan, but their prosthetic bodies emitted a hum from excessive overclocking.

Sparks leapt from their spines, accompanied by some kind of red-black liquid.

Even if someone successfully joined the time freeze, they couldn't escape John's "pursuit"; both sides were at a perfect distance, only able to watch helplessly as the trigger was pulled.

Shooting in a time-stopped environment was somewhat slow.

Countless bullets whizzed past the cyber spirit's eyes, continuously hitting and knocking people out of the time-stop state.

The gunfire shattered sunglasses and skin.

Severely damaged enemies fell into the ditch, and due to their prosthetic limbs short-circuiting, plus the insulation layer on their backs being burned through, blue and yellow currents exploded two meters out, changing shape like a spider web.

Bang, boom——

A violent explosion erupted in the ditch.

John used the mist in the air to turn and leave.

Although he took down several cyber psychopaths single-handedly, each capable of making headlines if they hit the streets, the current results alone were enough to boast about for two years at the bar.

Time to stop and retreat.

The most crucial Sianweistan already showed signs of overclocking.

The ones who fell just now were fast movers, but there were more reckless cyber lunatics approaching from behind; no need to battle these guys to severe injury or mutual destruction.

"Damn, that was tough."

John cursed under his breath.

A sharp pain came from his shin like it collided fiercely with high-hardness alloy wrapped in carpet.

The Glaive growled and vibrated.

John rode it onto a water pipe, crossing the water, and charged back up the inclined ramp to the road.

He began sprinting along the coastline.

After the Ghouls were cleared out, only a few gang members remained here; building materials and debris were piled all over the road, restricting motorcycle speed in narrow areas.

The Glaive moved forward with excellent off-road ability.

The cyber psychopaths rushed onto the road, and the already few streetlights went out again, sirens approaching from afar as numerous police drones started converging here...

John inexplicably breathed a sigh of relief.

[Chip interference detected, delay passage.]

A warning message suddenly popped up on the Glaive's onboard system.

Those capable of releasing large-scale interference are usually official organizations.

Eden City's Special Operations Team was preparing for a violent takeover—based on experience, it's likely a built-in system function of the hovercar currently imposing traffic control on the incident area.

[Do you wish to lift the restriction? No?]

John consented to the operation.

Anyway, he could let Black Light lift the chip restrictions at any time.

The vehicle wasn't stopped but was only limited in speed, crawling along like an ancient bicycle.

John had just tangled with the cyber psychos.

He knew how difficult those lunatics were to deal with, so having someone take over was ideal; no need to act recklessly or clash with the cops.

Being a curious passerby seemed just fine.

Buzz buzz.

All the streetlights in this area began flickering.

A fierce wind suddenly picked up in the rainy night, seemingly from a heavy hovercar hovering at low altitude, with the vector engine rumbling loudly.

Whoosh——

The police drones that had rushed toward the scene flew back the way they came.

They were official equipment, built-in with overspec ICE firmware, with signal sources carrying official authorization codes.

Not affected even under a complete city lockdown.

The onboard broadcast began cycling:

[...Multiple cyber psychos confirmed on site, the Special Event Handling Action Team has been notified to handle it, unrelated personnel, please stay away from the incident area. If you cannot evacuate in time, keep your hands away from weapons and refrain from any aggressive actions, repeating...]

The piercing alarms echoed in the night.

John squinted his eyes, planted one foot on the motorcycle, and turned to see:

A four-legged hovercar spewing blue tail flames emerged clearly in the rain, with the white SAT (Special Event Handling Action Team) logo visible.

Red light descended from the sky.

Like a giant curtain enveloping both sides of the canal.

Powerful searchlights cast an inverted cone-shaped beam, and the cyber psychos, like bugs exposed after turning over a rock, were bombarded with gunfire almost instantly upon exposure.

Bullets rained down like a torrential downpour.

The flesh of those lunatics peeled away rapidly. Without the amber-yellow bullet marks from the nearby impacts, one would have thought they were dissolved by an invisible strong sulfuric acid.

Dead bodies immediately appeared on the road.

Those with slightly tougher armor or just out of shooting range scattered and fled.

Rolling red subtitles appeared on the asphalt road.

Several heavily-armored figures landed from above, all wearing multifunctional tactical helmets, their foreheads and sides sporting multiple glowing green optics.

In order to quickly control the scene, the Special Event Handling Action Team didn't even wait for the hovercar to fully land; they jumped precisely into the red marked area from a height of ten meters.

After landing, they didn't make many buffering moves; the sniper rifles in their hands were already firing.

More like bombs than bullets.

John saw with his own eyes a burly cyber psycho being blown into plumes of mist as if he had detonated a grenade in his hands; more terrifyingly, the explosions continued.

Until his limbs were severed, leaving no twitching residue...

A cyber psycho equipped with Sianweistan tried to get close but was blocked by a tactical shield. In almost an instant, two members of the Special Event Handling Action Team dismembered it with long blades that ejected from their arms.
