My Creation Came to Life on an Island in Another World

Chapter 43: A New Threat?

The elf got close, her fingers reaching for Surin's belly. Luckily, he noticed in time and teleported with her.

It startled both of them, their eyes wide open, but only for a few seconds.

Realizing they made it out alive, they collapsed in relief onto the low grass plain, with a single tree standing at its center.

"Uwa!~ That was a close one!"

Surin let out a relieved sigh, looking up at the morning sky beside Nona, who was breathing heavily.

"You almost got us killed. What you think we're in some show where the villain waits for the hero to finish talking?"

Surin pouted sideways and crossed his arms.

"Well, at least show some respect, right!? buu~"

Nona looked at Surin, her face tired of the situation.

"...Forget it. Why did you take so long?"

Surin sat on the grass and smiled.

"Ahー... My bad, my bad.~ I forgot who you were disguised as."

Nona glared at Surin and thought.

I doubt it... He definitely waited until the last second...

With no proof for that mental accusation, she sat down next to him.

"Anyway, I lost a good disguise..."

"Agreed~, everyone around already saw Bury, right? But aren't you tired of that look?"

She looked down at her leg and pale white hands. Then turned her head to look at her white staff, which had a green gem.

"Yeah... I'm really tired of playing this pathetic role..."

She held the white staff and placed it in front of her.

"...and my name wasn't Bury, it's Berry."

Surin stood up again and turned to her with a grin.

"But of course I knew that, I was just messing around hehehe~"

Nona stood up too, and her skin started to peel, releasing steam.

"Ugh, that stinks, gross~"

Nona narrowed her eyes with her peeling face. Her skin was a mix, pale white on top, peeling, and the layer beneath was tan skin.

"Don't complain about a lady's scent. That's the same as wishing for death, brat."

With her skin completely renewed, a pleasant smell came from her now, something like lily flowers. She looked nothing like the young man from before.

Her skin was now tan, her hair had turned into dark brown curls at the ends, and her eyes became light brown.

The only thing that remained was her clothing, now tight around her chest.

"Ehh~, those things are way bigger than they looked. How did you even hide them so well?"

Surin grabbed his own chest, which was completely flat, teasing his companion.

Nona looked irritated, her face red, and quickly tried to punch Surin in the head.

He dodged effortlessly and started running while yelling.

"Help! Someone tried to hit a child, uwaah!~"

He ran with his hands up, heading toward the tree on top of a small hill in the plain.

"I'm gonna kill that brat."

She started walking in the same direction.

At the top, under the tree, there were chairs and a table that clearly didn't belong there. A man in a suit and hat sat there reading a book. Leaning against the chair was an umbrella.

Hearing the sound of Surin running, he closed the book. Adjusting his monocle, he looked in the direction of the noise.

They've arrived.

As they got closer, he pulled out his pocket watch. Seeing the time, he sighed.

"Seems you're ten minutes late."

Nona crossed her arms, tilting her hips slightly. Surin just stood still, arms down.

Nona was the first to speak, looking at the man.

"Blame this thing here."

"Bu, but~ It's not my fault, Nonie~ The timing just didn't help."

Already irritated and running out of patience, Nona changed the subject.

"Forget it. Also, why are this table and chairs even here, Huri?"

Huri flinched slightly, putting the watch away and answering with a stiff face.

"It's so we can have a nice conversation."

Surin barely held back a laugh at the attempt to cover a mistake. Nona, not getting what Surin found funny, replied while looking at Huri.

"You should know that jokes with such a serious face don't really land..."

Silence filled the air. Surin, unable to hold it anymore, burst out laughing.

"HAHAHA! Even while joking, his expression doesn't change! HA, HAHAHA!"

Huri furrowed his brows and quickly pointed the tip of his umbrella at Surin's chin.

"What did you say?"

Surin raised his hands, sweating nervously.

"I-I surrender, I was just kidding, r-relax."

Huri lowered the umbrella and stood up from his chair.

Taking the chance, Surin teleported behind Nona and hid.

Breaking the silence, Nona asked,

"What do we do now?"

Huri answered dryly.

"I don't know. The information you got about those new beings—does it interest the master?"

Nona thought for a moment and replied confidently.

"Definitely. That thing might make the master's plan work."

Watching their conversation, Surin stepped to Nona's side. With a grin, he scratched his head and asked Huri:

"Sounds fun, but what was the master's plan again?~"

Huri stared at Surin, while Nona, out of patience, kicked Surin in the butt.

Surin, not expecting it, let out a small yelp of pain, eyes watery.

Rubbing the spot, he looked at Nona and said:

"That hurt~, I don't like getting hurt", with a small sniff at the end.

Nona simply turned her head to the side.

"Hmph, deserved. I've been holding back for too long."

Huri, standing in front of them, sighed and thought.

Why do I have to deal with these kids?

"Enough. The master's goal is to bring our god back to life."

Surin perked up cheerfully.

"That's coool, that's cool.~ Now that's what I call a good plan."

Huri thought, hearing that.

What plan? That's just an objective, isn't it?

He sighed and said, disheartened but keeping his expression still.

"Let's head to the base already. Nona needs to report what she saw."

Surin jumped close to Huri, while Nona walked behind.

Right next to Huri, Surin nudged his shoulder and teased.

"Or maybe you just wanna see your little angel sooner?~"

While talking, he raised an eyebrow suggestively. Veins pulsed with anger on Huri's face.

"Why you—"

He was cut off by the teleport, and the place fell into complete silence again.

----

Back in the forest, Iris was still fighting—or rather, massacring—the remaining adventurers, ripping off one leg from each.

One adventurer held what remained of his leg, screaming.

"FUCKING MONSTER!! ARE YOU TOYING WITH US!?"

Meanwhile, Iris pulled the leg of another adventurer, who screamed:

"No. Stop, please!"

She looked at the one who yelled earlier.

"No~ Just removing your means of movement~"

A smile of amusement formed on her face as she pulled the leg.

With a crack and the sound of pants and skin tearing, it was ripped off. The victim screamed louder. Iris tossed the leg near him like garbage.

Looking at all their faces in agony, she smiled and asked:

"Now I'll ask you to tell me about the ones who escaped. Anyone have any ideas?~"

Silence. Only sobbing was heard.

Seeing no one would answer, Iris stepped on the head of the nearest adventurer. His head crushed, blood splattering everywhere.

Looking down at it, Iris made a disgusted expression and wiped her foot on the ground.

Disgusting rats...

As she cleaned, she asked again:

"Anyone know?"

Again, no one spoke.

She went to the next person. Stepped on their face. Bones cracked. Cries and screams flowed. Luckily, she stopped halfway.

If I keep this up... I might kill the one who actually knows something, right?

With a smile and feeling like a genius, her spirals began to spin rapidly.

"Seems like I made a tiny mistake, hehehe~"

She lightly knocked her own head with her fist.

"Sometimes I get too emotional, but looks like this time I went too far. Forgive me~"

She didn't bow in apology. Instead, the trees started twisting.

The trees began to grow and bend to the right, their tops connecting into a giant circle above everyone present.

"I'll take you to a really fun place, hehe~"

She smiled and snapped her fingers. A purple portal with a constant spiral formed above them.

"So then. Have a nice trip!~"

She jumped back to stay out of range, smiling and waving.

Everyone there wore terrified expressions, staring at the portal above. Soon the ground started shaking and rising toward it.

Screams from the adventurers echoed, some trying to crawl away.

"No, I don't wanna go!", a young adventurer twisted, clutching the grass to pull himself out.

"I don't wanna die, someone help me!", a woman screamed, doing the same.

"Shit! What did I do to deserve this!!?", a man just cried, one arm covering his eyes.

Their screams didn't bring help, only made Iris's smile grow.

"They've got so much energy~ Gorus will definitely enjoy pulling info from them, hehehe~"

The chunk of land passed through the portal, vanishing from sight. Seeing it was gone, Iris deactivated the portal, but kept the tree structure as it was.

"Alright~ Now I need to tell Gorus about them via telepathy"
