My College Teacher is My Children's Mom

Chapter 401 Finding Dad and Mom

「The next day.」

Lin Feng took his wife and children to gather at the school gate. The family showed up dressed in matching sportswear and sneakers, and with their striking good looks, they were quite a spectacle.

Ms. Li took attendance, calling the parents who hadn't yet arrived. At the appointed time, they set off punctually.

On the bus, Ms. Li led everyone in singing the school anthem. The parents held their children and hummed along softly. About forty minutes later, they arrived at the sports academy.

"We have requisitioned the South Teaching Building, the South Dormitory, and the South Practice Field," Ms. Li announced. "This is our designated activity area! I must ask all parents and children to please remain within these zones. Thank you for your cooperation! Now, if you'll follow me!"

The preschool's middle group had four classes this time, and each was assigned its own venue. However, it was also Ms. Li's first time at this gymnasium, and she couldn't find the way.

"Um, how do we get to Venue One?" she wondered aloud. "This is my first time at this gym. It used to be their branch campus…"

Everyone looked at each other. If Ms. Li didn't know the way, they certainly didn't.

Ms. Li made a phone call, and soon a physical education student arrived to help. He looked to be about 1.8 meters tall and around twenty years old, radiating youthful energy. The sight made the parents feel a pang of nostalgia for their own younger days.

Led by the student, they finally arrived at Venue One.

"Thank you so much!" Ms. Li said gratefully.

The children in the class chimed in, "Thank you, big brother!"

The parents added their thanks as well, which was enough to make the handsome, sunny young man blush.

"You're welcome! Have fun, kids!" he said, and with that, he ran off.

Ms. Li clapped her hands to get everyone's attention. "Alright, we're going to play a game now. This game will conclude after lunch."

The moment they heard "game," the children's eyes lit up with pure joy.

"Parents, please put all your bags and belongings in the corner, except for your phones," Ms. Li instructed.

One by one, the parents placed their backpacks against the wall.

"We'll have teachers watching over everything, so nothing will be lost. Please don't worry," Ms. Li reassured them.

Once the parents had settled, Ms. Li began to explain the rules. "For this activity, mobile phone use is prohibited unless there's a special situation. Now, I'll ask all parents to hand your phones over to me. If you receive a call, I will notify you. Thank you for your cooperation!"

After the parents handed in their phones, Ms. Li slung a bag over her shoulder.

"Our first game will test how well the children know their parents," she began. "In the first round, the children will have to identify their parents based only on their shadows projected onto a screen. A successful identification is a match. If a child doesn't find their parent, the parent then gets one chance to pick out their child from the group. This is the final opportunity to form a correct pair. If the parent also chooses incorrectly, the mismatched child and parent will have to team up temporarily to complete the morning's tasks."

She paused for effect. "However, when it's the parents' turn to choose, they will go in order of their child's student number. Once a choice is made, it's final. This means parents with children who have later student numbers will be at a disadvantage! Good luck to all the children and parents!"

The parents understood the rules, but the kids were a bit confused, as they were already buzzing with excitement to play. The adults took a moment to briefly explain the game to their own children. Some of the kids were reluctant to be separated from their parents, while others didn't mind at all, knowing they'd be reunited after lunch.

Ms. Li and another teacher held up a large silk cloth. This time, all four teachers were present, including the class's live-in teacher. One teacher took the children outside to wait while the others began hanging the silk cloth to form a screen.

Because Lin Feng was so tall, his silhouette was incredibly obvious; the cloth couldn't hide him. The quadruplets would know it was him at a glance.

Lin Feng bent his knees. "I'll squat down a bit!"

Ms. Li laughed. "No need. I'll get some stools for you. It'll be fine if you're all seated." She then emphasized, "You cannot speak. You can only use body language, understand?"

After giving the instructions, Ms. Li switched on a lamp behind them, making the parents' silhouettes appear clearly on the cloth. The parents hidden behind the screen were a mix of anxious and excited, wondering if their own kids would be able to recognize them under these conditions.

Among the participants were several couples, but most were mothers attending alone. This meant the fathers' silhouettes should be fairly easy to spot. For the couples who came together, only one parent could participate in the game.

The children came rushing back in, chattering excitedly. They were fascinated by the shadows moving behind the silk screen.

"Alright, little ones," Ms. Li said with a smile. "You can now choose your mommy or daddy based on their silhouette."

Since Lin Feng and his wife were among the taller parents, Ms. Li had intentionally seated them a bit farther back to make their height less conspicuous.

"Students, you may begin choosing your parents based on the silhouettes!" Ms. Li clapped.

The quadruplets had to nominate two representatives for this task: the Second Treasure and the Fourth Treasure. The Fourth Treasure loved to play more than anything, so how could he miss out on something so fun? The Second Treasure loved to be in the middle of the action and wanted to participate in everything.

An unreliable feeling began to creep over Lin Feng and his wife.

Ms. Li clapped her hands again. "Alright, everyone, let's begin. Let's see if you can find the right mom and dad!" She then reminded the parents behind the screen, "Please don't move around or make any noise to give your children hints."

As the designated representatives, the Second and Fourth Treasures were incredibly intrigued and immediately started discussing their strategy.

"Do you think this one looks like Mom?" the Second Treasure asked, pointing.

"But what if it's Dad?" the Fourth Treasure countered.

The Second Treasure looked at him in surprise. "But the shadow has hair, see? It looks like it's tied up."

The Fourth Treasure peered closely, trying to remember. "Did Mom tie her hair up today?"

The Second Treasure thought for a moment. "I think so. Anyway, our outfits are the same."

"What good is that if you can't even see the clothes?" the Fourth Treasure retorted.

Chatting as they went, they walked right past Zhang Yuxi without a clue.

After one pass down the line, some children had already correctly identified their parents, which made the Second and Fourth Treasures a bit flustered. They quickly calmed down, however.

The Second Treasure whispered, "Let's wait for the others to pick first. We can choose from whoever is left. Our chances of being right will be higher that way."

The Fourth Treasure's eyes lit up. "Oh, right! So we should just wait?"

The Second Treasure nodded vigorously. "Let's wait..."

Right in front of them, behind the silk cloth, Lin Feng was speechless. ... For a moment, his feelings were rather complicated. It's a clever strategy, but have they considered that some kids might pick the wrong person?

As if on cue, his thought came true.

A little girl pointed directly at Lin Feng's silhouette and called out, "Mommy?"

... Lin Feng screamed internally. Kid, I'm not your mom! Don't just pick randomly! Give my own kids a chance!

But the child was convinced. She had noticed the person had short hair, and her own mother had short hair too.
