Chapter 12: Chapter 12 Don't Make Me Say It Again
Because of being stared at, Veronica Parker felt so defenseless that her heart almost stopped. She felt that if it went on like this, she was afraid that she would be swallowed up by the momentum of Nick Cage!
"Mr. Cage, if you touch me, are you ready to marry me?" Veronica asked openly, looking at him with nervous tension and an expectant look on her face.
Nick looked at her with dark eyes. "What do you mean?"
"Only if you marry me will I let you touch me? Is that all right?" Veronica asked again, showing firmness against his passion.
Nick pressed his hand under her chin. Veronica felt uncomfortable and frowned slightly.
"Is that the reason for you coming near me?"
"Then, there must be no one who wouldn't like to take the role of Mrs. Cage, right? Everyone knows that if I marry you, won't the sparrow become a Phoenix?" Veronica said in a special material way.
This woman, who often dangled in front of him, had really intended to refuse to accept him because she unexpectedly still wanted to take the place of being Mrs. Cage.
The restlessness in Nick's body was suppressed by him, and his black eyes turned cold. "Get out."
Veronica was surprised, "Don't you want me? As a matter of fact, three years ago, I wasn't so bad, was I? "
"Don't make me say it again," Nick said sympathetically.
Veronica bowed her head and pulled the door. "But the door doesn't work." Before she finished talking, the door opened, which was so embarrassing.
She turned around and went out, then closed the door for Nick.
As soon as the door closed, her aching heart was interrupted and she felt a lingering fear.
Luckily, she acted well and deliberately let him know that she was an ambitious woman, otherwise, would she have been able to get out of his office? It would be strange not to be eaten alive by Nick.
Although it was three years later, Veronica still vaguely remembered the ferocity of Nick that night.
But she could get away with it this time. What about next time?
She really wanted to be out of this job!
Nick sat in a large black seat, his arms resting on the armrest. The aura was cold and oppressive, and he really didn't see that she was so serious.
She was no different from the other woman who flocked around him.
Veronica went back to the secretarial department and sat down. The seat creaked. She sighed and said to herself, "Mr. Cage is really strange. He ignored me as soon as he heard he had to marry me. What is he if he's not a scumbag?"
The other people were confused.
"When I was transferred to the secretarial department, I thought that how much he liked me was simply casual!"
The other people were stunned.
"Maybe I shouldn't have mentioned getting married. Even if he doesn't marry me, I can improve my career. There's a good position I can take with Kay Tours. I like it!"
The other people didn't have anything to say.
The last thing in the world to worry about was the wind of gossip, where it took root and where it could sprout.
Veronica's words were easily blown away in the direction of that wind.
And what she wanted most was that the words could be blown into Nick Cage's ears, so that he could fire her when he gets angry.
Levi had worked out a good puzzle.
The people in the KING group were stunned. How sweet the melon was! Also, how sour it was!
In the private group of the company--
"What did I say? There's really something suspicious with Veronica Parker going to the secretarial department. Am I not right?"
"I really can't believe it. Mr. Cage doesn't usually go after the female employees of the company. Does that mean we have hope, too? I don't think we are any worse than Veronica Parker."
"Truth be told, Veronica Parker is younger than us and has a very pure face. That's what men like."
"I think men prefer mature women."
Private groups began to speculate about what kind of woman Nick Cage liked.
Veronica didn't know if such a buzz fell into Nick Cage's ear, but it must have fallen into Kay Tours' ear.
He called Veronica Parker to his office.
Veronica stood there. Kay looked at her for a few seconds and asked, "Do you know about the recent discussions around the company?"
"Yes."
"Did you really say them? I couldn't believe it when I heard of them. You should know that these words are passed on to Mr. Cage, but it is not easy to excuse them."
"I'm telling the truth. Besides, didn't Mr. Cage transfer me to the secretarial department in order to have something with me? In that case, is there anything wrong with me to mention marriage?"
Kay thought, 'How dare you mention it.'
"Mr. Cage promoted you because of your ability, or it could have been a punishment for what Martin Hutt did, but it can't be what you think it is," Kay said.
Veronica raised her eyebrows slightly. "Really? Then why do I think he likes me?"
"I think you should put this kind of self-confidence in your work."
"Actually, I said that on purpose in the secretarial department. I don't understand it. Am I forcing him to get married to me?"
Kay replied, "I guess I underestimated you."
"Tours special assistant, are you going to fire me then? You can't do that. I still want to be a Mrs. Cage!" Veronica said.
"You go back to your post first, and don't say anything like that."
"All right." Veronica turned and went out.
Kay had some headaches. He managed the secretary department and it was always steady. This Veronica could really obtain something for herself. She even wanted to replace him? 'Was she serious?'
Veronica wanted to wait for Kay to fire her, but she couldn't wait for him to come. She thought the wind might not have blown hard enough!
Around noon, Nick, surrounded by bodyguards, walked into the hall and saw Veronica whining and bragging at the front desk.
The sound could be heard several meters away.
"I can go to the secretarial department because Nick Cage dotes on me, and I don't know how good it is to me in private! Or do you think I'm smart enough to get into the secretarial department? If you think about it with your knees, you'll know what the hidden rules are!"
Nick stepped forward, Kay's face was a little tense, and from time to time he went to see him, to observe his words and expressions.
'This Veronica was stress that could kill people! Couldn't she feel something wrong in the air?'
The receptionist turned pale with fear. Veronica was still there and asked, "Why don't you look at me? Didn't you hear what I said or not? By the way, when I take the role of Mrs. Cage, I will never forget the same things!"
"Ahem!" Kay had to give a reminder, otherwise, he didn't know what else Veronica could say next.
Veronica was stupefied and looked back. When she saw Nick's indifferent face, she immediately bowed her head as if she had done something wrong.
Nick coldly withdrew his sight and went straight to the elevator. Civilians were not allowed to follow.
Hearing the sound of footsteps, Veronica turned her face slightly, and Nick could no longer be seen.
She secretly sighed, "Can you just fire me now?"
This was a good idea. As for making money to raise the children, she just would find a way!
It was better than entangling with Nick and letting him find out the existence of the children, right? She couldn't afford to gamble.
Before lunch, Kay came to inform her that she didn't have to come to the company.
Veronica shrunken her mouth, "Can't you wait until I finish eating the company's free lunch?"
