My boyfriend is a bully?

Chapter 1: New Path, Thorny Obstacles journey, she encountered thorns

"Who are you? You've taken the wrong seat, haven't you?" Lin Yue sneered, heavily made-up, her arms crossed in a dismissive stance. Her eyes gleamed with open contempt.

Bai Yan bit her lip, standing frozen. On her very first day at "Xingyao" Game Company, her desk had already been occupied.

The colleagues around her whispered in hushed tones, but none of them stepped forward to intervene.

Bai Yan took a deep breath, fighting to steady herself. Today was her first day at her dream company, the beginning of her career. She could not, under any circumstances, allow a petty "seat-stealing" incident to throw her off.

"Excuse me… colleague, my badge shows this is my seat," Bai Yan said, her voice calm, pointing to the nameplate on the desk.

Unfazed, she turned and walked straight to the CEO's office, knocking lightly on Liang Yu's door.

"Liang Zong, my seat has been…" Bai Yan began, but before she could finish, Liang Yu interrupted, his tone impatient.

"What are you whining about now? Get out!" He had braced himself for yet another new employee coming in with some petty complaint. But what Bai Yan said next caught him completely off guard.

"Liang Zong, I just came to inform you that my seat has been occupied by Lin Yue. If you don't handle it, I'll take care of it myself." Bai Yan's voice was firm, unflinching, showing no sign of backing down.

Liang Yu raised an eyebrow, intrigued by her boldness. This woman was proving to be far more interesting than he had imagined.

Outside his office, curious colleagues leaned in, eager to see how the drama would unfold.

Half an hour later, an impromptu game test was announced.

Liang Yu specifically called on Bai Yan to participate, and many assumed it was just another chance for him to put the newcomer in her place.

But when the test started, Bai Yan's performance was nothing short of exceptional. Her movements were fluid, her understanding of the game mechanics far more advanced than that of any typical newbie. She played with precision, each move calculated, and her mastery of the game was immediately evident.

Liang Yu observed her gameplay on the screen, his usual detachment replaced by a subtle flicker of surprise.

After the test ended, the colleagues who had previously underestimated Bai Yan now cast surprised, admiring glances her way. The room buzzed with murmurs of astonishment.

A faint smile tugged at the corner of Bai Yan's lips. Finally, she had a moment to shine.

She turned to leave, only to be met by Liang Yu's piercing gaze.

"Didn't expect you to have some skills," Liang Yu said, his tone slightly softer than before, a hint of unspoken approval in his words. But his usual coldness quickly returned as he added, "However, don't get too cocky. This doesn't mean you've secured your place at Xingyao."

Lin Yue, watching from the sidelines as Bai Yan was surrounded by a group of colleagues, felt a flash of malice. She sauntered over to Liang Yu and whispered, "Liang Zong, I think... something's off with her..."

Lin Yue's voice was soft, but it was loud enough for those nearby to hear. The atmosphere in the room instantly shifted, thick with tension.

"Liang Zong, I suspect she cheated. A newbie couldn't possibly be that good," she added, her tone sweet but laced with venom. Her eyes shot a poisonous glare toward Bai Yan.

Liang Yu narrowed his eyes, his expression unreadable. Any initial interest he had in Bai Yan quickly evaporated, replaced by a cold, skeptical indifference.

"Bai Yan, show us again," he ordered, his voice sharp and commanding, carrying the unyielding authority of someone used to being obeyed.

Bai Yan's smile faltered slightly. She hadn't expected to be accused of "cheating."

The situation was beginning to feel like a modern-day version of "The Trials of Dou E."

Around her, the whispers began anew, colleagues casting furtive glances her way.

Bai Yan clenched her fists, suppressing the anger that was bubbling up inside her. She wouldn't let these small-minded people get the best of her. She would prove herself with her abilities!

"Alright, I'll show you," she said, her voice calm yet resolute.

She walked over to the computer, took a deep breath, and prepared to showcase her skills once more. She was determined to leave her critics speechless.

Just as she was about to press the start button, the screen suddenly went black.

The entire office fell into an eerie silence, every pair of eyes on Bai Yan, filled with confusion, curiosity, and, in some corners, a malicious sense of enjoyment.

Bai Yan frowned slightly, her fingers brushing lightly over the mouse, but it didn't respond.

She raised her head, scanning the faces of the colleagues around her. They all wore puzzled expressions, some glancing at each other with uncertainty.

And then, in the briefest of moments, Bai Yan caught a flash of smugness in Lin Yue's eyes—a barely perceptible sneer. It was enough for Bai Yan to sense that something was off, a heavy air of scheming hanging in the atmosphere.

Remaining composed, Bai Yan bent down casually, her hand moving toward the back of the computer. Quietly, she reached for the power cable.
