Chapter 147 Stealing Green Cards
"I picked it first! Let it go!" Strella Glimmerveil shouted, drawing every student's attention to them.
She screamed with the hope that Zane to let it go.
However, Zane held onto it without any shame.
"Wrong! I picked it first." Zane said with a serious tone.
Strella growled and responded, "Stupid boy, let it go."
Zane moved his head and pointed over the ground where there were dozens of stuffed animals and said, "That's not gonna happen. Look around. There are many stuffed animals on the ground. Go and get all of them instead."
"No, I want this, only this." Strella sneered and spoke, "Thinking about this. You're a boy. Why did you even want to play tugged in war with me for such girlish stuff? Hmm, are you a sissy?"
The other students began to laugh mockingly.
Zane ignored them and responded, "So what? I'm going to gift this to my girlfriend."
"Girlfriend? You? Haha…" Strella burst into laughter.
"Laugh all you like. This is mine." Zane said without even blushing a bit.
The quarrel continued and turned into a pure tug of war.
Strella felt like she was pulling a mountain. No doubt Zane's load of 32,678 kilograms came in handy.
She became so furious that she channeled her mana and blasted a magical fire skill at him with her other free hand.
"Crimson flame!" she muttered.
Zane had already seen this coming as he felt the large amount of mana build up in her hand. So he ducked downward slightly.
Seeing him do that, Strella almost smirked, thinking that Zane would let it go.
But Zane swiftly kicked upward as he ducked downward.
The kick landed squarely over Strella's chin, and she was sent flying away. She crashed over the cold floor of the hall messily.
The eleven students in the hall were from the same noble family. Seeing their family's lady in such a situation made them angry.
They glared angrily and were about to attack him.
Zane sensed their killing intent. However, he had no time for them. So he looked at the part of the machine and found that it was at the chest region of the stuffed animal.
He quickly poked his fingers and retracted the machine part it and tossed it into his silk pouch.
Strella stood up with messy hair and a thick crimson aura of fire around her body.
"You dare to attack me." She yelled.
The other students who were planning to act heaved a sigh of relief seeing her stand up.
"Yeah, you dare hit a lady of the Glimmerveil Household." Soran barked.
The other followed, making Strella more arrogant.
"Just for a stuffed animal. That's not worth it. You win," Zane tossed the stuffed animal toward her.
Strella caught it, and the stuffed animal was burned to ash.
"You think this will cut it?" Strella weaved a series of hand seals and threw a ball of crimson flame.
The fireball came in swiftly. Zane still dodged it easily.
"Sparrow-fiery flame!" She yelled, and the fireball suddenly turned into a crimson fire sparrow.
The fiery sparrow dashed toward Zane from the back.
Zane turned and caught the Fiery Sparrow and pinched, destroying the magic into a white puff of air.
The other joined using their magic.
Zane used Luminous steps and dodged all of their attacks. But they continued to come after him.
"That's it." He said, "Luminous steps!"
He moved like a phantom and appeared before a youth and flicked over its forehead.
The youth was thrown in the air and hit the wall at the far end of the hall.
He went to another and began flicking one person after another.
They were all blasted away with just a flick each and remained unconscious.
Only the lady of the Glimmerveil, Strella, remained standing.
It was too quick and she was having a hard time processing the situation happening in front of her eyes.
It took only a simple-looking flick for Zane to finish each one of them.
"S-so-so…." Strella stuttered without finishing the word.
"Too late. You started this," Zane appeared in front of her and raised his hand quickly before her forehead.
She shut her eyes hard, expecting the other to flick her hard.
But nothing sort of that happened.
She opened one eye and saw Zane near the entrance of the hall.
She heaved a sigh of relief.
Zane's figure flickered and appeared before her again, taking her by surprise.
"I changed my mind. Since you started this, you have to suffer like them." He raised his hand and flicked over her forehead, sending her flying.
She hit the wall and lost her consciousness.
Zane was about to leave when he remembered one of the quests.
He returned and began to take out the Green cards of each of them.
Ding!
[Quest to steal 10 Green Cards Completed!]
[+100 added to all stats]
[Now Initiating the Points Transferring program as your reward!]
[Place your Green Card to them]
It was news to Zane.
He did as he was told, and all the core stones in those twelve green cards were transferred into his.
After that, he tossed their green cards over them and said, "I helped you bring to the top floor free of charge, and you all dare to attack me. That's what you get for attacking me."
He walked out of the hall.
Ten minutes later, he walked out of the large building, and he continued on his green path as directed by the System to the nearest second part of the prototype weapon.
Back in the Fresher Meet Village on Earth, many people continued doing their activities as usual.
Many didn't see the decrease in the points of the twelve students from within the top hundred to last, as they had lost all core stones in their green cards.
But those elders and the clan's men from the Glimmerveil Household saw that as their eyes were focused on the twelve names of their noble clan.
They grouped up and discussed.
After that, they went to the central park of the village and raised a complaint regarding this situation.
Director Aaron, who was playing chess with Pudge at the top of the platform, listened to their complaints.
After discussing with Gemini, he responded, "Nothing happened to them. They are still alive. It was a surprise for us as they lost their points like that. This never happened before. Someone, I mean another student, must have found a way to crack a hidden program and transferred it to his. We'll look into this after the first phase of the tournament. You can leave for now."
