I was mostly finished with selecting from the servant candidates

"So, Mr. Takumi. Have you decided on who you will hire?"

"Ah, yes. I'm mostly finished."

Before talking with Winfield, I had been able to confirm some things with Alfred and Jane.

Jane had no issues with the younger Ms. Lyra becoming head maid. And Alfred agreed to be head butler.

"That is good to hear. In that case, shall I gather everyone together tomorrow so that you can tell them?"

"Yes…thank you."

"So Mr. Takumi will now have his own servants. Well, I suppose Lyra, Gelda and Milina are basically working for him already."

"Well, I will look forward to hearing Mr. Takumi's announcement tomorrow… But first…"

Sebastian suddenly narrowed his eyes with a serious expression.

"Are you certain about Walter? Of course, if he does not have the will to continue to be a servant… Well, you cannot change that. But…"

"I asked him about it. He nodded quite happily. When it comes to his abilities…I don't know if it truly suits him. But he is enthusiastic."

There was the idea that he could be some kind of story teller instead of a butler…

As Sebastian said, his personality was a little cowardly, and so perhaps he wanted to do something different than being a servant. After all, it often requires you to observe people closely while taking care of them.

And he had so much fun creating stories at the orphanage… If reading was his hobby, perhaps this would suit him better.

"Sebastian. Did you want Walter to work like you?"

He sighed and turned to the window with a far away look.

I didn't know what to say to him… After all, it was slightly my fault that he was moving in a different direction now…

"Hmph! It cannot be helped. Besides, I have other sons. I will turn my expectations to them now."

"Huh…?"

"They are working at the main house, Mr. Takumi. Walter is just one of three brothers. It is just that Walter was considered to have the most potential as a butler."

"Is-is that so… Walter has brothers."

I had been under the assumption that he was an only child. And that was why Sebastian had such expectations for him.

According to Claire, Walter had the most talent. And so Sebastian was more strict with him.

After talking with Winfield, Sebastian and Claire, I then went to the kitchen with Ms. Lyra.

This was because Ms. Helena had called me.

As soon as I arrived, she rushed to me while holding a plate.

"It looks…like udon noodles."

"Yes. I made it just as you told me to, Mr. Takumi. Now, for the taste…"

The familiar, thick white noodles were on the plate.

They had been boiled.

As Claire had wanted to eat them at the house as well, I had talked to Ms. Helena about it.

Of course, I did not really know how to make them. So I had just left it to Ms. Helena, who had tried making it every day.

"Hmm…it has a good firmness and is very close to the udon that I know of."

I said after eating some with a fork.

As both taste and looks were very close, I would say this was as well as completed.

It really was nostalgic to eat this again…
