Chapter 85: Life of Rakuzen
Bright blue lighting circled Lucien's body while small gusts of wind formed around him. With the wind rider spell activated, he created a cloud of wind beneath his feet, leaving the ground as he proceeded to rise into the air with thick blues bolts of lightning emitting from his hands.
Fuuu!
The Rakuzen blew some air towards him lightly and all that power and enchantments with the bad boy look got blown away easily. With his wind cloud blown away, Lucien fell to the ground and with a resilient spirit, he slowly got on his feet and looked a the pair of blue eyes without fear!
"Don't you dare think that will be enough to put me down!" Lucien growled.
"You know… one of the reasons I chose to have you as my successor is because of two things… you trust no one, unlike me who was backstabbed and defeated and two you never give up… These are the two major qualities I lack and you have it…. That's why I think it's time for me to retire and watch you accomplish my dreams without lifting a finger" The Rakuzen said calmly.
"I know you trust no one but this is ridiculous… if I want your body I won't need to be this dramatic to take it… thanks to the power of faith I have recovered the sufficient amount of power needed to forcefully make this body mine and If I should ever do that you won't even be able to resist." Rakuzen added.
Only after hearing this does Lucien relax a bit with an embarrassed look on his face. He remembered that the Rakuzen is the reason why he regained his affinity to magic but on its first day back he treated it like an enemy.
"I apologize… I went too far this time" Lucien bowed respectfully while saying those words.
"It's okay… I'm just happy to see you have grown quite well without my presence… You are really talented enough to be my successor" Rakuzen chuckled as the scene slowly faded and when Lucien yanked his eyes open he realized that some time has passed.
"How long has passed" He asked gazing at the old chief sitting on one of the chairs in the throne room.
Hearing Lucien he promptly stood up with a hint of relief in his eyes. After Lucien upgraded the castle he suddenly shut his eyes and passed out. They all assumed this was due to the stress of using the creation authority in such a weak body and many feared he would die in his sleep.
"Three hours… We feared you may be dead… What happened?" The old man asked slowly.
"I was pulled into a dark place by Rakuzen… for a quick chat" Lucien said casually as he stood for the throne and began making his way out of the throne room.
"Lord Rakuzen!" The old man screamed at the top of his voice and fell on his knees, bowing with so much energy Lucien felt the old man would get hurt.
"Don't do that anymore, you are too old… you will get hurt one day… By the way, Rakuzen doesn't bother himself with minor gestures like this… serve me well and help me reach the peak… that is your duty" Lucien said calmly.
Seeing the way Lucien addressed their god, the old man concluded that Lucien's relationship with Rakuzen must be close for him to talk about him in that manner.
"How can I be of help?" The old man asked.
[The clan vault… Let him take you to the clan vault!] Rakuzen cried out.
'Calm down old man!' Lucien cried out in his mind with squinted eyebrows.
"The clan vault…" Lucien said.
The fact that he knew about the clan vault was enough to stun the old man. What Lucien didn't know was that the clan vault is something none of them could access since the death of Rakuzen. It holds the secrets of the spirit beast cultivation and their unique spirit weapons and precious soul cultivation materials. Because of the absence of these things, the strength of the clan has been falling.
"Come this way" the old man said as he walked past Lucien and behind the throne was a dusty old carpet which he kicked aside, revealing a secret underground chamber.
Mumbling some strange words the old man poured his spirit energy into the concrete ground which promptly split open, revealing stairs that led down. The duo walked down the stairs for over twenty minutes making Lucien wonder how deep the underground chamber is. Once they reached the end of the long stairs, Lucien was faced with a massive metallic door with a small hole with a dragon head sculpture placed there.
'What the hell is this?' Lucien muttered in his mind as he studied the magic formations set around the metal door! It was so advanced, he hasn't even seen something like this in the empire.
[I was born in this clan… I lived here, I grew up here and I made this place great… I was the first spirituality cultivator to reach the god realm, a realm which many assumed is reserved for only body and magic cultivators… I created this vault and stored all my valuables hoping to help my people grow… in exchange, they had to pray to me to gain access to this place, allowing me to get stronger through the power of fate! With a large empire that believed in me and prayed to me for almost everything… I grew stronger rapidly, faster than all the new gods who I once considered my peers... In the end, I reached the realm protector level and with a little push, I stepped foot into the celestial realm, a realm which no one in this realm has ever managed to step foot in! But after my defeat, everything came crashing down… Everything I labored for was taken away from me… and many forgot me] Rakuzen explained.
While he spoke, Lucien shoved his hand into the hole and shut his eyes, concentrating as he prayed for the first time in his life.
"Lord Rakuzen, God of gods… The true ruler of this world… Grant me access to your vault" Lucien said with all sincerity.
