Chapter 25: Chapter 25: Comprehensive Equipment Upgrade
"That was it, why didn't I think of it before."
"Hello, sir. How can I help you?" This is an outdoor equipment specialty store.
Zhao Guang didn't waste any words and directly said, "I need some outdoor cameras, preferably ones that can be remotely controlled."
"Outdoor cameras, those are quite rare. You might want to look at these, we have some samples here." The salesperson was a muscular young man, obviously very strong.
Perhaps this is characteristic of such stores, haven't you noticed that the surrounding stores are all manned by young ladies?
"These, these won't do. I'm looking for the type that can be disguised as rocks or wood, specifically for filming animals in the wild," Zhao Guang explained, gesturing as he spoke.
"Oh, that type, you must have a research project."
Zhao Guang quickly nodded, "You know about them? That's perfect, exactly those."
"They are indeed rare since they're seldom used and not very marketable. I need to contact the manufacturer. The earliest they can deliver is tomorrow. But they are a bit expensive."
Zhao Guang nodded. Getting them by tomorrow was already quite fast.
Seeing Zhao Guang hesitate, he thought Zhao Guang was concerned about the high price.
"Don't think the price is too high, these things are just like this, professional quality is very good. If your team is officially funded, then you don't need to pay, there are funds available."
"Ah, it's not official, just a private research project of ours."
"Studying biology, huh? I envy you guys. If I had the brains, I would have studied it too."
"Biology impoverishes three generations. It's not so easy. Look at me now," Zhao Guang said as he signed a form. "Alright, if the goods arrive tomorrow, give me a call."
Another matter resolved. With these, he could see beforehand who was on the other side before setting out.
"Also, give me a regular one, and add one of these binoculars."
Still unsure whether the equipment would work in the other world, if they didn't, he would have to use other means. As long as he didn't go out, in his own home, he stood on undefeatable ground.
So far, he hadn't seen anyone besides himself capable of passing through the Space Gate.
Afterwards, before Zhao Guang had time to think about the next steps, his phone rang with a call from the old lady.
"So quick, are they all in such a hurry?"
"Not only that, it's simply impossible to wait for the demolition here. These kind of tube houses can't get high rent, year after year, everyone has their issues," Zhao Guang nodded in agreement to this reality.
"Since that's the case, let's resolve it as soon as possible."
"By the way, the people in other units nearby also have houses they want to sell, do you want them?"
"No, I'm only interested in this building. Don't bring up the others to me."
Zhao Guang's straightforward refusal reassured the old lady quite a bit. It seemed it really wasn't because the place was going to be demolished. Besides, with so much empty land around, why pick this place?
After selling three units, other people hearing about this came to discuss the matter with the landlady.
This made things easier. In less than two days, an entire twelve-unit building had been bought by Zhao Guang. It was truly unexpected; he became the owner of the building so swiftly.
The price was also not high, the highest was just three thousand per square meter.
It was baffling how the old lady managed it, different prices yet making them sell their houses cheerfully. But no matter what, now the whole building was his, and he could remodel it as he wished.
That very day, Zhao Guang started contacting the workers to remodel the entire building.
"These changes, you're planning to transform everything into a lookalike of a warehouse?"
"Exactly, everything modeled after a warehouse, plus I need two elevators installed, one on each side. They should be the kind capable of lifting heavy goods," the worker noted as he listened.
Wealthy people really know how to play—the purchase of an entire building for such transformations.
The point of such a transformation was unclear, if it's a warehouse that's needed, simply finding one would be cheaper. Well, no matter, it was still a big business deal and without the complications of renovations.
"That's about it, how long will it take to complete?"
"If we start, it can be quick. Once the framework is up, wait three more days, and then the equipment can be installed."
"Then let's do that, complete it within two days, I'll give you an extra twenty thousand."
"I'll do my best." The worker's eyes lit up. Twenty thousand might not seem a lot, but it was a decent income when it went into one's own pocket.
Watching them already getting busy, Zhao Guang set off again.
This time he was going to buy conveyor belts, indeed, only conveyor belts could help him manage his freight better.
The conveyor belts were not an issue; once bought, he could install them himself. Now, his equipment was fully upgraded. By the time the elevators were installed, the arrows would likely have arrived.
The second night, after the workers left, Zhao Guang began experimenting at home.
"Just as I thought, it won't work; the physical Laws of that world seem different from here." The camera equipment he bought couldn't function there.
Then, Zhao Guang connected a device on his side, and then extended it through the Space Gate. Now there was an image.
It seemed that the devices could still work when connected on his side.
"Well, it's just for checking who's on the other side. The rest doesn't really matter." Zhao Guang looked into the camera and then saw a familiar yet unfamiliar huge face.
Hard-haired Pig, the culprit behind the injury to his buttocks.
It seemed to notice the camera extending towards it and wanted to come over to check out this object.
Emboldened, Zhao Guang aimed at the Hard-haired Pig's nose and pushed forcefully forward, hitting right into the nostril. The Hard-haired Pig squealed painfully and hurried away, while Zhao Guang roared with laughter on the other side.v
Money paved the way for speed; in just two days, the elevator frame was already installed.
Although it looked rather crude, it was sufficient for his use. And now that he owned the whole building, fewer people came out to watch him.
He had given sufficient relocation funds, so all the tenants moved out promptly.
Furthermore, since their own landlady was handling things, he didn't need to worry. Now that the elevator was installed, it was time to have the arrows delivered. He could also buy some other items in bulk as backups.
Items such as various seasonings, and most importantly, chili oil.
Darn, the types of goods he was developing were still too limited. It seemed necessary to get more stuff over there to try.
