Chapter 11: Chapter 11 This Wine Really Packs a Punch

Zhao Guang was carried on Kapas's shoulder like a little chick, sprinting rapidly and often leaping along the way. Zhao Guang had been trying to find an opportunity to strike up a conversation, but he just couldn't manage it, as his stomach acid was nearly sloshing out.

After an unknown amount of time, Kapas finally set Zhao Guang down.

"We're here, this is our camp." If Kapas hadn't been holding onto Zhao Guang's shoulder, Zhao Guang would have probably collapsed right then. "Ugh," Zhao Guang bent his head down, vomiting so hard he felt his intestines might come out.

"Your small stature really isn't up to scratch, much worse than those smugglers. But don't worry, we'll always be your friends." As he said this, Kapas was still clapping Zhao Guang on the shoulder.

The force of the claps made Zhao Guang feel like his shoulder was no longer his own.

This continuous torment made Zhao Guang feel as if he had been seriously ill.

"Right, we will always be brothers, and I'll be counting on your help more in the future."

Zhao Guang, fighting the dizziness in his head, managed to muster a rigid smile and even raised a middle finger. The Beastmen around, seeing this gesture, all raised their middle fingers towards Zhao Guang in response.

"Right, we will always be brothers."

Zhao Guang was speechless. This was one gesture you all did not need to learn.

Suddenly, an elderly man walked over from a distance, his body adorned with various primitive ornaments. "Kapas, I heard you brought back a merchant with a lot of salt."

"Elder, that's right, this is the man, oh brother, what did you say your name was again?"

Zhao Guang quickly stood up straight, "Greetings Elder Sir, my name is Zhao Guang. I have always admired Beastman culture and have always wanted to be brothers with Beastmen. I heard that you were short on supplies, so I went through great hardships to acquire a treasure that allowed me to transport nearby and bring the supplies over."

The surrounding Beastmen stared blankly at Zhao Guang, clearly shaken by his speech.

Beastman culture? What culture do Beastmen have? We didn't know about this.

The elder recovered quickly, "I did not expect there to be such good humans like you among the humans. Very nice. I believe your admiration for Beastmen, ordinary humans certainly don't speak the Beastman language that well."

Beastman language? The Beastman language! What was going on? Zhao Guang widened his eyes.

He finally realized this was entirely a different world. How could there be absolutely no communication barrier between them?

Honestly, when he first encountered humans and was able to communicate with them, Zhao Guang hadn't felt anything amiss.

Thinking back, their speech was entirely different from his own, yet he could understand and fluently speak it without needing to think; it felt as natural as his mother tongue, completely instinctual.

If he had had this ability from the beginning, his English scores wouldn't have been so poor.

It seemed this trip through the Space Gate had definitely brought him a boon. That Space Gate, it was truly a wonderful gate indeed.

"Haha, of course, I grew up learning the Beastman language from childhood. It's my mother tongue," he said.

The surrounding people were persuaded by Zhao Guang's shameless display, many Beastmen showing genuine smiles. They each gestured middle fingers towards Zhao Guang and then ate the salt, their faces revealing comfortable and rather odd expressions.

"To honor our brother, I suggest we have a feast. Let's roast the best meat," Kapas said loudly.

Zhao Guang, like a puppet, was pulled by Kapas directly to the bonfire, which had been burning since he had arrived, right in the middle of the Beastman Camp.

The Beastman Camp was also very primitive and rugged, consisting entirely of a combination of wood and animal skins.

It didn't take long before a crowd of Beastmen had already encircled the area.

"Haha, look, brother Zhao Guang has even brought us some fine wine."

Fine wine? Since when did I bring wine? Zhao Guang looked back and almost died of fright. Kapas was pouring what he had brought—two barrels of chili oil—for the others.

The screw cap of the oil barrel was directly squeezed to pieces, but not a single drop of the chili oil was spilled.

"No, don't." Zhao Guang watched as Kapas put a sea bowl to his lips and then downed it in one go.

The next moment, Kapas's face turned bright red, and his entire face twisted. Even Zhao Guang, who was face-blind, could see the obvious distortion on that lion-like face.

"This is bad, they might think I have poisoned them. I'm doomed, absolutely doomed."

Zhao Guang's eyes widened, never having expected anyone to be so impulsive; couldn't they smell that there wasn't a hint of alcohol in it?

It continued to distort for nearly a minute, and the surrounding noise quieted down as everyone stared at Kapas. At that moment, Kapas finally opened his mouth and exhaled.

"Ha… good wine, truly good wine. This wine really packs a punch."

Zhao Guang chuckled awkwardly, "Haha, well, this is our local specialty 'spicy wine,' known for its spiciness."

Beastmen are really terrifying. Watching other Beastmen guzzle the chili oil, Zhao Guang felt a stomachache coming on. Even people from Shuzhou would feel nauseous seeing this use of chili oil.

While drinking, Kapas even gave Zhao Guang the middle finger, "It's really good, just the taste is a bit off, a bit too mellow. And there's too little of it."

Zhao Guang's eyes darted about, and he hurriedly said, "That's because it's not meant for drinking, it's a condiment wine, specifically for smearing on food, which makes the flavor even better. If you want to drink, I'll bring some next time, but I can only bring a little."

He gestured to his arm, indicating his limited strength.

Regardless, it seemed like he had found an item for trade. There was plenty of chili oil, and the best part was, buying more wouldn't cause any trouble; no one had ever heard of getting in legal trouble over purchasing chili oil.

"Zhao Guang, you really are my good brother. Here, have a cup yourself."

Damn it, they want to kill me. Looking at the large sea-bowl-like cup filled with chili oil, he absolutely couldn't indulge them.

If he were to down it in one go, there wouldn't be enough time to get to the hospital; he'd better head straight for the crematorium.

"That, well, it's not meant to be used like this. I can't hold my drink, so just a little bit will do." Zhao Guang took some roasted meat, then dipped just a little to demonstrate.

But after eating it, Zhao Guang started cursing inside again; the Beastmen's way of making food was much cruder than that of humans.

They just stripped off the skin and put it on the grill, considering the organs as delicacies, placing them in front of him, the esteemed guest. And the worst part was, if they were so generous with the chili oil, why couldn't they spare some salt?
