Chapter 185: Ayase Origami × Kong Youling × Ji Minghuan
London, inside the underground bar "Eden".
[Game scenario "Jurassic World" loading progress: 85%/100%]
At this moment, five children from the Salvation Society team were sitting on the Somersault Cloud, quietly watching the progress bar on the prompt box, waiting for Mario's "game scenario" to finish loading.
The process took quite a bit of time, with the progress bar moving extremely slowly.
It seemed that because it was located in Ke Qirui's movie world, loading the game scenario was particularly difficult.
Ji Minghuan quietly shifted his gaze, observing the surroundings with the corner of his eye, then embraced Kong Youling.
She raised her eyes from beneath her snow-white bangs, looking at him with confusion.
Ji Minghuan didn't speak, only using his shoulder to shield her view. He didn't want Kong Youling to see the grim bloodstains that the red traffic light left on the bar's floor and walls.
On the ceiling full of holes, the color-changing light bulbs flickered on and off, casting alternating shadows on the five faces below, making their expressions change with the lighting.
Especially Sun Changkong.
She sat cross-legged, hugging the Golden Cudgel, her fiery red brows tightly knitted, her shoulders trembling slightly, looking as if she couldn't wait any longer.
Only Mario remained calm and composed, watching the handheld console screen expressionlessly.
Shortly, just as Sun Changkong was about to start muttering loudly, a large game prompt box suddenly popped up.
She froze for a moment, closed her mouth, and curiously looked up.

In the next moment, the floating game prompt box in the air slowly blurred, then completely disappeared.
In its place, a pixel-style cartoon gate formed in front of the five.
Ji Minghuan raised his head, staring silently at the pixel gate in front of him.
Cold sweat dampened his bangs. He thought to himself: "Damn... If we can't find a chance to escape, won't the Ghost Train Corps and my second unit end up dying in Mario's game?"
Sun Changkong raised a fiery red eyebrow, her mouth agape, showing her surprised little canine teeth.
Then she suddenly turned her head, bumping Mario's shoulder, "I didn't expect you had this trick up your sleeve, Cat Mario!"
"Amazing," Filio said, wide-eyed with admiration. "Once we go in, can we find the red traffic light?"
"Yes," Mario replied expressionlessly, "but it's very dangerous inside... What do you say?"
As he spoke, he glanced with the corner of his eye at Ji Minghuan and Kong Youling.
Sun Changkong understood his implication, so she turned to the two of them and said, "Xiao Ling, Ji Minghuan, you two stay here."
Kong Youling nodded.
"It's fine, but...," Ji Minghuan paused, "wouldn't one of you stay here to protect us?"
"No, with that many people, we can't lose in momentum!" Sun Changkong shook her head, "Don't be afraid, don't be afraid, it will only take a few seconds to deal with those bastards, and we'll be right back."
"Yeah, we'll bring back the red traffic light, it won't take long," Filio added, "Ji Minghuan, you hide in the bar and wait for us, after all, the enemies are all in the game."
"Okay, you guys take care," Ji Minghuan said. He knew in his heart that he couldn't convince Sun Changkong.
He wanted to buy some time, but what was the point in delaying? As long as the Ghost Train Corps were still trapped in Mario's game, they would ultimately have to find their own way to break the situation.
Kong Youling wrote on a notebook and raised it for them to see: "Come back safe."
"Of course, don't worry, little Ling," Sun Changkong said with a confident smile.
Ji Minghuan remained silent.
He slowly took Kong Youling's hand, and the two of them disembarked from the Somersault Cloud together.
Sun Changkong waved at them, then rode the Somersault Cloud with Filio and Mario, passing through the pixel gate. The gate vanished.
The bar fell into a dead silence, with only the "pop" sound of the light bulb sparking.
At this moment, Kong Youling finally had the chance to take a good look around.
When her gaze touched the bloodstains flowing across the floor, she suddenly froze, her red pupils slightly widening.
Unlike her, the other four had all seen blood before, so naturally, they didn't have much of a reaction. Especially Ji Minghuan, who had seen so much in the past month; the scenes at the auction were far bloodier than this.
The white-haired girl stood petrified for a long time, then tremblingly raised a pencil and wrote on the notebook to ask: "Will they be safe?"
Ji Minghuan glanced at the words on the notebook, absentmindedly replying, "They will."
He sighed, thinking: Those who got captured by the Salvation Society were all quite a bunch of monsters, you might as well worry about my second unit.
As the two conversed, two shadows suddenly entered from the bar entrance.
They moved so quickly that it was hard to catch with the naked eye.
Ji Minghuan was stunned for a moment, instinctively pulling Kong Youling into his arms, then quickly turning to look.
With my dynamic sight, I could barely catch their afterimages, not even clear enough to see them.
When I came to, a blood-red scythe curved like the crescent moon was already against my neck. But somehow, Ji Minghuan felt a sense of relief upon seeing that scythe.
He slowly turned his head, following the blade's sharp gleam.
He saw two unexpected visitors: one wore a reddish-brown kimono, and the other dressed in a black-and-white Japanese school uniform.
It was Ayase Origami and Jack the Ripper.
They must have received the hacker's alert and rushed over to help Xia Pingzhou. Alas, they arrived too late.
At this moment, the kimono girl's attention was not on him.
She silently and slowly looked around, her gaze lingering for a second on the mottled blood stains on the wall before she noticed a familiar phone on the floor.
A page hidden in the kimono sleeve flew over, bringing the phone to her.
Ayase Origami unlocked Xia Pingzhou's phone, and messages popped out one by one.
[Hacker: Hey hey, I was just playing a game.]
[Hacker: Hang in there, newbie, I'll call the young lady and Jack the Ripper to rescue you.]
[Hacker: Dude, what kind of unlucky constitution do you have, that going for a drink leads to such a mess? Right, I did send you there.]
[Hacker: Just don't die, or how am I supposed to explain to the young lady?]
The kimono girl lifted her eyes from the phone, suddenly turned around, her dark eyes fixed on Ji Minghuan.
"Where is he?" she asked softly.
"I don't know who you're talking about." Ji Minghuan said while holding Kong Youling protectively, looking back at Ayase Origami with an expressionless face.
"Xia Pingzhou, where is he?" she continued to ask, her voice cold as ice.
"We're not involved in this, just caught in it." Ji Minghuan replied.
"Don't know?" Jack the Ripper said expressionlessly, "Maybe if I pull your guts out, you'd know."
Seeing the scythe at Ji Minghuan's neck, Kong Youling widened her eyes, her pale body trembling uncontrollably.
"It's okay, it's going to be okay..." Ji Minghuan said quietly, raising his hand to press Kong Youling's head onto his shoulder, "Close your eyes, it'll be over soon."
Kong Youling did not close her eyes; she just watched his cold side profile with trembling eyelids.
He lowered his head, smirked at Kong Youling, then shifted his gaze away from her face.
"No explanation?" Jack the Ripper said, "Don't think I'll go easy just because you're a kid."
"Xia Pingzhou..." the kimono girl pressed, "Where is he?"
No expression on her pale cheeks, her kimono sleeves rolled high up, papers flew out, gradually forming a myriad of butterflies.
The paper butterflies flapped their wings, drawing close to Ji Minghuan like falling leaves.
Ji Minghuan held Kong Youling tightly, looking up from beneath his dark bangs, his young face icy like a fierce, young wolf.
Through thousands of paper butterflies, Ayase Origami met his gaze.
Suddenly, she froze.
For some reason, she felt this boy's gaze was familiar, inexplicably familiar.
"Why..."
The kimono girl slowly raised her eyes, opening wide her hollow eyes, whispering silently.
She suddenly recalled Xia Pingzhou mentioning he was searching for a white-haired girl, so she lowered then raised her eyes again, reconsidering Kong Youling whom Ji Minghuan was sheltering, remaining silent for a long time.
After a moment, Ji Minghuan looked coldly at Ayase Origami, slowly speaking, "I don't know the 'Xia Pingzhou' you're talking about, let us go."
At this very moment, in an unnoticed corner, a massive, pitch-black cocoon was hanging upside down from the ceiling of the underground bar.
The Black Cocoon was wrapped in a transparent restraint belt, and that's why no one could see it.
"What's going on?" The Black Cocoon squinted, using the restraint sensing to observe the two members of the corps and Kong Youling, "What on earth are those Salvation Society bastards doing, why aren't they taking us back?"
Kong Youling stared blankly at Ji Minghuan's profile, and after a long while, suddenly broke free from his embrace.
She trembled and forcefully spread her arms wide, protecting Ji Minghuan with her thin body.
She raised her eyes, her red eyes staring at the paper butterflies fluttering towards her.
Ji Minghuan was momentarily stunned, then his pupils contracted slightly. With Jack's scythe still against his neck, he couldn't move, only half-kneeling and calling her name:
"Kong Youling!"
The kimono girl remained motionless, her gaze fixed on Ji Minghuan's face like a kite with broken strings, stuck there without reaction.
