Chapter 272: Hu Family’s Banquet
Hearing what Bai Hanyun said, Jiang Yinqi smiled knowingly. "Of course. He has the entire Hu family backing him. Dealing with Bai Yansheng and his people is easy for Chaoyang."
Hearing that, Bai Hanyun smirked. "Elder Brother Yinqi, you are really cunning. You must have chosen CEO Hu as the new CEO of the Bai Group precisely because of that backing, right?"
Jiang Yinqi chuckled softly at her words. Placing his index finger on his lips, Jiang Yinqi winked and said, "Shh, that's our secret. Don't let Chaoyang hear this, or he will skin me alive."
Shaking her head when she saw the rare playful expression on Jiang Yinqi's face, Bai Hanyun muttered with a hint of pity, "I can't wait to see that unlucky man later."
While the siblings were chatting, they arrived at the restaurant. After enjoying a sumptuous dinner, Jiang Yinqi and the others drove to his villa in Xi Yang City's luxurious residential district.
When they drove into the villa, the servants were already waiting outside.
Seeing someone sitting in the passenger seat, the steward stepped forward and opened the door.
The moment he saw that the woman was Bai Hanyun, he smiled warmly and greeted her, "Eldest Young Lady, welcome home. It's been months since you last visited us. Everyone has missed you terribly."
Listening to his words, Bai Hanyun placed her hand on the steward's palm and replied, "Uncle, how have you been?"
"Still energetic as usual. Just a little stressed, since Master Jiang insists on staying single," the steward replied as he helped her out of the car.
Hearing this, Bai Hanyun chuckled and teased, "Uncle, if you want my elder brother to marry, you need to introduce some women to him. Otherwise, he will die single."
Overhearing their conversation, Jiang Yinqi sighed helplessly. "Can the two of you not gossip about me like I'm not here?"
Bai Hanyun and the steward glanced at him, then turned their backs and walked into the villa.
Being ignored, Jiang Yinqi smiled, then turned to Hua Yuyu and the others. "Please come in."
Following him, Hua Yuyu and his brothers entered the villa while the servants carried their luggage to their rooms.
In the evening, Hou Zuquan finally finished his job. Standing up from his chair, he picked up his tablet and went to Hu Chaoyang's office.
Knocking on the glass door, he waited a moment before Hu Chaoyang's voice came from inside. "Come in."
Pushing the door open, Hou Zuquan walked toward Hu Chaoyang. "CEO Hu, we need to leave now, or you will be late for the welcoming banquet."
Hearing this, Hu Chaoyang signed the last document, set it on top of a pile of documents, then stood and buttoned his suit. "Let's go and get this over with quickly."
Noticing his unwilling expression, Hou Zuquan chuckled and held the door open for him.
As they walked toward the elevator, Hou Zuquan said, "Just a heads-up, tonight may not be as simple as a welcoming banquet. Brother, I suggest you prepare yourself."
When he heard this, Hu Chaoyang had a bad premonition. Stepping into the elevator, he glanced at Hou Zuquan and asked, "Don't tell me that my mother turned this banquet into a blind date meeting."
Smiling at him, Hou Zuquan nodded. "That's right."
The moment he said this, Hu Chaoyang let out a groan. "Not again."
While they were talking, the elevator reached the ground floor.
Walking behind him, Hou Zuquan said, "Don't worry. If you need help, we can always use our old trick."
Hearing this, Hu Chaoyang was speechless. "….."
After a brief silence, he asked, "Aren't you worried you won't be able to get a girlfriend because of this?"
Hou Zuquan sighed and began to complain. "Isn't it all because of you? You drain my energy every day with endless work and unending overtime. Otherwise, I would have plenty of time and energy to look for a girlfriend. If I'm dying single, it's your fault."
Listening to his complaints, Hu Chaoyang fell silent. Once they got into the car, he glanced at Hou Zuquan, who was sitting in the passenger seat, and said, "Then… let's do as you suggest. I will double your bonus this year."
Glancing at him through the rearview mirror, Hou Zuquan smiled and calmly replied, "Yes, CEO Hu."
While they were on their way to the Hu Manor, Madam Hu was busy welcoming the guests.
Standing near the entrance to the main hall, Madam Hu smiled at a newly arrived group. Reaching out to shake hands with the man leading the group, she said, "Welcome, CEO Ji. Thank you for coming today."
CEO Ji beamed at her words. Bowing slightly at Madam Hu, he politely replied, "It's our honor to be here, Madam Hu. Thank you for your invitation."
"Our family has close business ties. CEO Ji, you are too polite." After welcoming him, Madam Hu turned to Madam Ji and the young lady standing beside her.
Looking the young lady up and down, she said, "This must be Young Lady Ji, correct?"
Madam Ji smiled, gently pushed her daughter forward, and said, "Madam Hu is right. This is my second daughter."
Young Lady Ji stepped forward, smiled sweetly, and greeted her. "Madam Hu."
Pleased with her manners and gentle appearance, Madam Hu made a mental note while saying, "What a good girl. I hope you enjoy the banquet and make many new friends. Please, come in."
"Thank you, Madam Hu." Young Lady Ji replied gently.
After exchanging pleasantries, Madam Hu called for a servant. "Escort CEO Ji and his family inside."
The servant bowed and responded, "Yes, Madam."
Turning back to CEO Ji, the servant said, "Esteemed guest, please come this way."
Just as CEO Ji left, another group of guests arrived, escorted by a servant.
Smiling at them, Madam Hu said warmly, "Madam Wu, it's an honor to have you here tonight."
As the sun slowly disappeared into the western horizon, more and more guests arrived.
