Mushoku Tensei: This reencarnación is strange!!

Chapter 69: Towards FIttoa

Right now I was outside Laws's room, leaning against the doorframe. Sylphie and Hope were beside me, both with worried and confused faces.

Inside the room, sobs and screams could be heard, but then everything calmed down, and I couldn't hear any more.

"So... that woman is my grandmother?" Sylphie asked in shock as she looked at me.

Hope didn't say anything, but she was just as surprised.

"Yes... I was surprised too, and I talked to her for several hours. She was raped and pregnant with Laws's child... but because of her trauma, she couldn't take care of him and left him in the elf village..." I murmured as I crossed my arms.

"Ooh... I didn't know my mother-in-law had gone through something like that..." Hope murmured, visibly sad.

"Yes, but she says she's over it and now wants Laws back in her life," I said with a smile, but Sylphie frowned slightly.

"B-but Rudy... don't you remember what your mother proposed to you?..." she asked, and I raised an eyebrow before sighing.

"S-should she tell you?!" I exclaimed, embarrassed, and she nodded slightly.

I slapped my face, holding back a groan of frustration as I looked at the two women in front of me.

"...yes, I'll take her as my wife too..." I said firmly, my gaze falling on Hope, who blushed slightly. "And you too, Hope. Just let me think about how," I said, and she nodded with a smile.

"I-I wouldn't mind just seeing each other secretly," she murmured softly.

"...okay, but it'll only be temporary, I promise," I said, and she smiled warmly.

"But what about Laws...I mean, my father? Although I'm not opposed to it, I don't think he'd be too happy about you marrying his mother," Hope continued, frowning.

"Like I said, I'll think of something," I said, and immediately the bedroom door opened, revealing a red-eyed, swollen Elinalise and a crestfallen Laws.

He didn't say anything, but gave me and his family a small smile before walking toward the stairs.

Elinalise, on the other hand, stood by, holding her hand in mine as she wiped a tear.

"Did something happen?" I asked, and she looked at the floor, blushing.

"Yeah, yeah... you could say... he wasn't very happy to see me at first. He was angry, and I let him insult me, haha..." She sighed, "but in the end... he wants me in his life too... can you believe it?" She murmured, tears welling up in her eyes again.

"Hehe... in the end, we were able to reconcile, and I told him I'll marry you!" she said with a smile, but Sylphie, Hope, and I froze.

"Oh yeah?" I asked, a cold sweat forming on my forehead. "And what did he say to you?" I muttered, and I could hear Hope gulp loudly.

"Well... he wasn't that happy when I told him," she muttered.

"Oh, no way!"

"But then I explained my reasons, and he seemed to understand. He says he accepts it! He wants me to be happy too!" Elinalise's tone indicated she was genuinely happy.

After all, she was a very emotional person.

At this, I breathed a sigh of relief, as did Hope and Sylphie.

"Yes, another one!" Sylphie murmured in her mind with a smile on her face.

In her mind, the color green wasn't so bad anymore.

For my part, I was slightly dumbfounded.

"That wouldn't make Laws..."

"Yes, that would make Laws my stepson, you my daughter-in-law, and Sylphie my granddaughter," I grimaced, interrupting Hope.

Still, this only made the situation more hilarious than it originally was, but nothing more.

And by this point, Elinalise had already clung to me with a smile and flushed cheeks, so I had to let the subject go and head downstairs anyway.

Upon hearing the news, my mother was the most excited, hugging Elinalise with tears in her eyes. Ghislaine followed her, who hugged her back, but Elinalise just smiled at her.

She also realized that penises are better.

Talhand, on the other hand, simply nodded with a "congratulations" and continued drinking wine.

Laws, on the other hand, simply looked at us expressionlessly, but when Sylphie and Hope glanced furtively, he got up from his seat and walked toward us.

"...I hope...I hope you make my mother very happy," he said, visibly uncomfortable.

I still stared at him and nodded.

"Yes, I promise, father-in-law," I said with a smile.

"Uugh...don't call me father-in-law, just call me Laws from now on. I don't even know what our relationship will be from now on," he said while shuddering, making me laugh.

"Okay, Laws," I said as I extended my hand for a shake.

He smiled slightly but returned the gesture.

That concluded that topic for the moment, and we moved on to the most important thing.

...

We quickly cleared out all the rooms and met up at the city's exit. My intention was to take everyone to Fittoa to see if Saurus was there or if we could find someone we knew.

Although I had several doubts that the grumpy old man was even still alive, I had nothing to lose by going there.

So our entire group headed to the outskirts of the city. Everyone's mood was especially cheerful, even Laws, who had finally reunited with his mother, but definitely no one was happier than my mother.

"Yes! Finally, that damn bitch will know what she was missing for being a lesbian!" she exclaimed with excitement in her mind.

So our group quickly arrived at the city gates, and we certainly stood out; after all, we were only four men and thirteen women...

But I pushed that thought aside as we headed to a secluded part of the city.

"R-Rudeus!... W-are we really going to travel like that again?!" Philip exclaimed in panic, sweat running down his forehead.

I felt a vein pop out on my forehead at this, but in the end, I just let out a soft sigh.

"Yes, father-in-law... it's necessary. I don't want to keep traveling for months when we can do it for hours!" I retorted, and he shrugged, earning the stares of Hilda and Eris.

"Is this really the man I married?..."

"Uugh! My father is a faggot!!"

Hilda and Eris murmured in unison.

So we all formed a circle. Sylphie and Elinalise deliberately stood near me, both hugging my arms, ignoring the jealous looks from the women and the uncomfortable looks from the men.

"I'll use gravity magic to make us fly. Please everyone stay in your places and come closer to me," I said in a serious tone.

So I closed my eyes as the mana concentrated in my hands and the ground beneath me began to shake.

"Waah!" Philip screamed as he fell to his knees, while the ground within a 20-meter radius slowly began to rise.

I also used earth magic to reinforce the floor, and we quickly rose over 100 meters.

Elinalise and Sylphie visibly paled at how high we were and clung to me even more tightly.

The others did the same as I cast God-level barrier magic.

Philip and Talhand hugged each other while trembling.

I raised an eyebrow, and Hilda smirked at me.

I just nodded and continued concentrating.

"Th-th-isn't this going too fast?!!!" Talhand yelled after an hour, clearly scared, while Philip beside him fainted.

"Hmmm?... Ah! Yeah, I don't think so. Thanks for reminding me!" I said with a smile as I doubled my speed, now traveling at about 600 km/h. Thanks to the wind magic, air resistance wasn't a problem, so we could travel without any problems.

"My master—I mean, Rudeus, we're a couple of hours away from Fittoa, according to the ring map. We could get there in about eight hours at our current speed," Lilia said as she sat at my feet with Aisha in her arms.

I nodded with a smile and continued traveling.

At one point, everyone sat down, and I was the only one standing.

Elinalise, Sylphie, Lilia, and my mother sat leaning against me, while Roxy and Eris looked at the scenery near the shore. The barrier served as a railing, so they were relaxed.

Thus, night fell, and they all slept.

...

The next day, we arrived a couple of minutes from Buena Village, and the atmosphere of the place could already be felt.

I lowered the platform we were all standing on so as not to attract too much attention.

And immediately, Talhand and Philip jumped off it and kissed the ground.

This immediately increased Hilda's disgust with her husband and Eris's with her father, but I didn't say anything.

The ground beneath us was completely dry like a desert, and black clouds stretched out in all directions.

Immediately, my mother, Lilia, and Hilda frowned as we walked through the area.

But I could also see that there was a primitive path leading us to Buena Village.

"..." The village could be seen in the distance, or what was left of it. My mother took my hand, holding it firmly, a melancholic gaze falling upon it, as did Lilia, Roxy, and Sylphie's entire family. But none of them dared to return to the village. We knew we would only find more rubble and dry earth.

"Let's go... we'll go to Roa," I said, and so the whole group continued.

With the help of a little gravity magic, we were able to reach Roa in less than three hours, and the atmosphere that greeted us was undoubtedly devastating.

A pair of no more than fifty tents stretched for about two hundred meters surrounding a huge crater that stretched to the horizon.

We hadn't even reached Roa; we were halfway there, I knew that from the ring map that marked Roa about 20 km ahead.

I was also surprised by how quickly the tents had sprung up. It had only been a little over a month, and several survivors had already returned or something like that.

Hilda and Philip were obviously the most affected by this and it was evident from their expressions; in fact, Hilda's eyes began to form tears while Philip clenched his fists helplessly.

I, too, couldn't help but sigh when I saw the state of the area. It was definitely shocking to see a city of this magnitude, age, and size wiped out in less than an instant...

Or so I'd like to think, if it weren't for Eris, who came to hug me from behind, burying her face in my neck.

"Apparently, she's sad too, huh?" I murmured in my mind as I held her firmly.

"Ah...ah!...w-what, isn't that Lord Philip?!" One of the survivors shouted as he emerged from his tent with a look of astonishment.

"Y-yes! His wife too!" Another survivor shouted loudly, and a small number of people quickly swarmed toward us.

I counted around eighty people, and every single one of them was in rags.

"tch... poor idiots..." Eris muttered in her mind as she looked at the desperate mob with a look of disdain.

I sighed at my fiancée's classist tendencies but didn't say anything either.

If you're not my family or friends, I have no obligation to you.

I know it may sound cruel, but it's what I believe. Even so, if I have the strength to change this, I could do it. I know I can't do it with physical strength alone. I must have political power, and the best way to do it is simply to go to the capital so I can claim the title of leader of House Boreas, and if possible, even take the throne. Well, yes, I can, but I'm too lazy.

"Lord Philip! Lady Hilda! Please help us! Everything we had is gone! We have nothing!" The screams of the survivors came from all around.

"Those bastards still respect this old fox... but that could serve me just as well..." I muttered in my mind as I approached Philip and placed a hand on his back.

"Speak loudly. I'll use wind magic to amplify your voice," I said, and he nodded.

Then a serious look settled on his face, and he spoke firmly to the survivors.

"People of Roa! I'm sorry for what happened to you! I can't even imagine what you feel after losing everything in less than an instant! But you must also understand that it's not just you who have been affected! I am one of the examples! All my fortune and prestige are gone! Now I'm just an ordinary man like all of you! But let me promise you one thing! I will go to the capital and I will commit to restoring Roa to its former glory even if it costs me my life!" With these words, the spirits of the survivors immediately rose, and they breathed a sigh of relief.

So when the entire crowd approached him, I whispered in his ear.

"You're not going to help them, are you?" I muttered.

"Of course not, I was only saying that so the commoners wouldn't keep coming to me," he replied, and I sighed.

"Yeah... that's why they're fucking your wife, you bastard!" I growled in my mind.
