Mushoku Tensei: I am the older brother of Rudeus Greyrat

Chapter 2: Chapter Two: Sparks of Potential

The morning sun spilled across the fields, painting the Greyrat estate in shades of gold. Aedric stood outside, the weight of a wooden sword resting in his hand. Opposite him, Paul's stance was relaxed yet poised, his grin wide and challenging.

"Let's see what you've got," Paul said, his voice carrying an edge of excitement.

Aedric nodded, adjusting his grip. The faint breeze tugged at his hair as he shifted his stance, the muscle memory of countless battles—both his own and those inherited—guiding his movements. Paul lunged, the air around his blade whistling. Aedric sidestepped smoothly, deflecting the strike with a fluid motion. Each clash of wood echoed through the quiet yard, their movements a dance of experience and raw talent.

"Not bad," Paul admitted, his strikes growing faster. Aedric's eyes narrowed, his body reacting before thought. The duel ended abruptly as Aedric twisted his blade, sending Paul's weapon spinning from his hand.

Paul blinked, then laughed. "Where did you learn that?!"

Aedric shrugged, a small smile tugging at his lips. "Just felt natural."

Paul's gaze lingered, a mix of pride and curiosity. "We'll need to keep working on that. You've got potential, but raw talent isn't everything."

Later that day, Aedric wandered into the woods, the quiet hum of nature surrounding him. He knelt by a tree, his palm pressing into the soil. Sparks flickered along his fingers, the faint crackle of electricity filling the air. Concentrating, he channelled the energy into his legs and leaped forward. The burst of speed sent him careening into a nearby bush.

"Damn," he muttered, brushing leaves from his hair. A wry smile tugged at his lips. Each failure was a step forward, and the exhilaration of mastering Yuri's lightning magic kept him pushing his limits.

Evenings at the Greyrat household were warm and lively. Zenith bustled in the kitchen while Lilia quietly set the table. Aedric often found himself watching Rudeus, the infant's gaze oddly focused as he crawled across the floor. There was an intelligence there, sharp and unyielding. Aedric couldn't help but grin as Rudeus reached for a fallen spoon, his tiny hand gripping it with determination.

"You're going to do great things, little guy," Aedric whispered, ruffling Rudeus's soft hair. The baby cooed in response, a spark of understanding in his bright eyes.

The peaceful rhythm of their lives shifted when a robed figure on horseback approached the estate. The stranger dismounted with practiced grace, her staff clinking softly against the cobblestones. Paul greeted her warmly, though there was a flicker of caution in his eyes.

"A mage," Zenith murmured, her tone filled with curiosity. "She must be Roxy Migurdia."

Aedric observed from the shadows, his sharp eyes studying the newcomer. Roxy's presence was calm yet commanding, her cerulean hair catching the sunlight. When her gaze swept across the family, it lingered on Aedric. Her brow furrowed slightly, a spark of interest igniting in her expression.

"You have an unusual air about you," she remarked during their introductions. Aedric offered a polite smile, masking the tension that rippled beneath his skin.

The following morning, Aedric watched as Roxy began Rudeus's first magic lesson in the garden. Her voice was steady, her explanations precise as she demonstrated the basics of mana manipulation. Aedric leaned against a tree, silently mirroring her hand movements, his mind piecing together her teachings with his own instincts.

"You're welcome to try," Roxy called out, her tone inviting yet curious.

Stepping forward, Aedric raised his hand, his breath steady. Following her guidance, he spoke the incantation softly. A crackling bolt of lightning shot from his palm, striking the ground with a resounding impact. The air smelled of ozone, the energy lingering in the space between them.

Roxy's eyes widened. "That's... advanced magic."

Paul's laughter boomed, breaking the silence. "That's my boy!"

But Roxy's gaze remained fixed on Aedric, her expression thoughtful. "You're no ordinary child," she said quietly, her voice carrying a note of intrigue.

Aedric met her eyes, a flicker of determination burning in his own. He would guard his secrets closely, but the path ahead was clear. This was just the beginning.

(Author's note I'm think Roxy should be a love interest comment if should or shouldn't )
