Chapter 328: Tragic Loki

— — — — — —

"Huh? Really? That's kind of a shame."

Tony's face fell for a moment, but he quickly perked back up. "But based on what you said, it's possible to learn, right?"

That line instantly caught the attention of Natasha, Nick Fury, and even a certain someone secretly listening in—Alexander Pierce.

"It's possible," Renzo replied with a smile, "but it depends on talent. And more importantly, on whether I'm willing to teach you. So don't get your hopes up. Honestly, Tony, I think we'd be better off talking tech instead."

He grinned. "Like your Iron Man suit, for example—I've got a lot of experience in that department too."

Renzo was genuinely curious about Tony's armor tech, especially his mini arc reactor. Not to mention, he had his eye on Adamantium and the formula Howard Stark left behind for the unique alloy used in Captain America's shield.

After all, that shield wasn't made of pure Vibranium. It was a hybrid metal, the result of a happy accident—one that Howard Stark never managed to replicate.

But Renzo didn't need to recreate the accident. With his skills, he could analyze and reverse-engineer the entire formula straight from the shield itself.

He already planned to "borrow" the shield temporarily and swap it back later without anyone noticing.

Either way, he was going to get that formula.

Call it a gift—for the other versions of Renzo across the multiverse.

Oh, and he definitely planned to head to Wakanda later. Vibranium was another material he wanted to analyze thoroughly for mass production.

There were a lot of good things in the Marvel world.

---

"What? You know about that stuff too? Aren't you supposed to be a biology PhD or something?"

Tony looked at him like he'd just seen a talking goat.

Clearly, he'd done his homework on Renzo's background.

"My file says I'm just an ordinary guy too. You believe that?" Renzo grinned.

"Damn, you're right!" Tony finally got it, then puffed out his chest. "Well, for the record—when it comes to machinery, electronics, and energy, I'm kind of a super-genius. You really think you can keep up?"

"Only one way to find out," Renzo said, shrugging.

Talk was cheap—whether he could keep up or not, they'd see soon enough.

"Alright then. When this is over, let's have a little showdown," Tony raised an eyebrow. He was already curious.

If Renzo really was that talented, Tony wouldn't mind collaborating. Honestly, he kind of hoped Renzo was telling the truth.

With how mysterious he was, and with all the crazy abilities he'd shown off, who knows what kind of undiscovered tech the guy had access to?

After all, breakthroughs usually came from working with people on your level. And Tony had spent a long time at the top of the food chain—with nobody around to truly match his pace.

Finally, maybe he wasn't alone anymore.

...

While they were chatting, Renzo's real body had already finished crafting the Space Stone replica. The swap went smoothly, and he tucked the real one away into Takamagahara.

Then, using his spatial manipulation, he silently merged back with his clone. In a blink, the two became one again—without anyone noticing.

"Hey, weren't we just talking about magic a second ago?" Natasha chimed in.

She hadn't forgotten her real mission—Fury had just contacted her, asking for anything she could dig up about how to learn magic.

Renzo glanced at her and said bluntly, "That baldy put you up to this, huh? Tell him to forget it. I'm not sharing it with anyone."

What was he thinking?

S.H.I.E.L.D. wanting access to magic methods? Not a chance.

"...Ugh, well, alright," Natasha shrugged helplessly after Renzo shot her down. She'd tried, so Fury couldn't blame her for failing.

Nick Fury: "…"

"Hey… has anyone seen Loki?" Thor suddenly asked.

Part of him was genuinely concerned about his little brother's safety. The other part… was worried Loki might still be up to no good.

"He's downstairs. Hulk gave him a pretty brutal beatdown. Poor guy's still flat on his back, hasn't moved since," Natasha replied, glancing down at the building's lower level where Loki lay sprawled out, eyes glazed over and completely motionless.

"Oh-ho?"

"Well done, Hulk!"

"Wanna go check it out?"

"Hell yeah, let's go laugh at him!"

"Tony, give me a lift!"

"Me too!"

Everyone was instantly down for a field trip—to Stark Tower's top floor. A little look, a little closure… and maybe a lot of schadenfreude.

"I got it," Renzo said casually.

He activated his spatial field projection, and with a sharp whoosh, they all vanished from their current spot—only to reappear instantly on the rooftop of Stark Tower.

"Whoa…"

"Holy crap, was that teleportation?"

"And he brought us all with him?!"

"Damn, that's OP!"

Even Tony was blown away by the sudden jump.

Thor stared at Renzo, eyes wide in amazement. "You're like a walking Bifrost Bridge! Seriously, how many more crazy powers are you hiding from us?"

The guy could fly, freeze enemies, teleport, use telepathy… Thor was straight-up jealous.

Renzo rolled his eyes. "Don't call me that. And for the record, my space abilities are nothing compared to the Bifrost. That thing can teleport across galaxies. I'm limited to within the solar system."

Still, that was no small feat.

"You're already ridiculously powerful," Thor muttered, feeling a bit defeated.

Up until now, he thought Renzo could only operate within Earth's atmosphere… but apparently, he'd seriously underestimated him.

Natasha and Hawkeye exchanged glances, mentally filing away every bit of this info.

"Ohoho, look who it is! The mighty God of Mischief, Loki himself!" Tony pointed, strolling over to the very flattened figure of Loki who was still stuck in the busted floorboards like a Looney Tunes character.

"What happened, huh? You were all high and mighty earlier. Now you're just... sad. Didn't you say you were a god?"

Tony's mockery was merciless. After everything Loki pulled, seeing him like this was too satisfying.

The others gathered around too, staring at Loki like they were inspecting an exhibit at a museum.

Loki: "…"

"Uh… is it too late to ask for that drink now?" he muttered awkwardly, glancing up at Tony with an almost pitiful expression.

That was about as close to 'I surrender' as Loki was ever going to get.

He had no choice. After being Hulk-smashed and watching Renzo casually toss nukes and teleport like it was nothing, his whole worldview was shaken.

He'd completely underestimated Earth.

Now, he kinda understood why Thanos never came here himself.

Earth wasn't some backwater planet—it was a landmine of terrifying people.

He wasn't an invader… just a disposable pawn Thanos sent to test the waters.

Tony blinked, remembering how—when he'd first met Loki back in the tower—he actually had offered the guy a drink.

Too bad Loki had refused like the arrogant ass he was.

And now?

"Too late. You missed your chance," Tony replied with a smug smile.

Loki: "…"
