Chapter 320: The Fall of Akatsuki

— — — — — —

In a flash, Uchiha Aiko appeared behind Renzo—blade in hand—and stabbed toward his back, aiming straight for the heart.

CLANG!

The blade stopped—just one centimeter from Renzo's skin.

Aiko's eyes went wide. No matter how hard he pushed, the blade wouldn't move forward.

He tried to retreat—but it was like the air itself had turned to steel. He was completely locked in place.

And then he felt it—a terrifying spatial force wrapping around his entire body, freezing him where he stood.

That was the power of Psychokinesis.

"You…"

Aiko's voice trembled. Panic rising in his throat. He looked at Renzo like he was staring death in the face.

He wanted to speak—but had no words.

"Maybe it's fate?" Renzo said coolly, turning to face him. "Your Mangekyō is also space-type. Interesting. But it's mine now."

He snapped his fingers.

In an instant, two shadow clones split off from Renzo's body. One rushed the other four Paths of Pain. The second landed beside Deva Path's wrecked body.

Renzo himself turned back to Aiko.

Those Mangekyō Sharingan eyes still shone in the Uchiha's sockets—but not for long.

With a cold smirk, Renzo raised his hand.

Before Aiko could say a word, Renzo reached out—and plucked the eyes straight from his skull.

With a flick of his wrist, he stored them safely in his dimensional ring.

Sure, he already had powerful space techniques—but he wasn't about to say no to a spare pair of Mangekyō. They might help him further understand space-time laws. Worst case, he could purify them into a serum to help others awaken their Mangekyō—or maybe even Eternal Mangekyō.

So many uses.

And now, the Sharingan… was a completely solved puzzle for him. He'd broken it down, inside and out.

"AAAAAARGH!!!"

Uchiha Aiko howled in pain, blood streaming down his face.

"You bastard!! You damned murderer!! You killed my family! My father—my brother! I hate you!"

"You… you hypocrite! You pretend to be a hero but you're just a monster!"

"Huh?" Renzo raised a brow and laughed coldly. "You actually believe all that? Let me guess—Black Zetsu told you that nonsense, didn't he?"

"You… you do know him…"

Aiko froze.

His face was a blood-soaked mess, but his lips curled into a deranged grin.

"Ha… hahaha… Then you're already too late."

"Don't think this ends with me. We've been preparing for this for years. Even if you kill us all today—we'll still come back!"

"The Fourth Great Ninja War is coming."

"All old grudges will finally be settled. I'll build a new world—fair, peaceful... without hypocrites like you, and without those corrupt, stubborn fools standing in the way! In that world—"

"Alright, enough!"

Renzo waved his hand mid-monologue, instantly silencing Uchiha Aiko with a flick of his space manipulation. He looked thoroughly unimpressed.

"Let me guess. You're planning to use Edo Tensei, right?"

He scoffed. "A gullible idiot manipulated by Black Zetsu, thinking he's out for revenge."

"And by the way? I wasn't the one who killed your family—it was Black Zetsu. Or do you think it was just a coincidence you awakened your Mangekyō back then, and he just happened to save you afterward?"

He shook his head and sighed.

"Not that it matters. Explaining anything to you is pointless."

CRACK.

Without another word, Renzo simply clenched his hand in the air.

Space around Aiko's neck twisted—and snapped.

His body crumpled lifelessly to the ground.

"Heh... the Pure Land is under my control too," Renzo muttered. "You think you can just come back from the dead? Dream on."

He let out a dry laugh.

As if he didn't know what Black Zetsu and the others were scheming behind the scenes. He was letting them dance for now—just long enough to use them to trigger the war.

But come on. As tools, they should really stop trying to write their own scripts.

Ssssslip~

At that moment, Orochimaru slithered over and eyed Uchiha Aiko's corpse like it was a gourmet delicacy.

"Renzo-kun," he said, voice slick and amused, "mind if I take this one?"

Renzo glanced at him, then casually tossed the body his way.

"Sure, take it. But listen—don't go creating a whole bunch of Uchiha clones and releasing them into the world. I will shut you down."

A small warning.

Especially since, in the Boruto timeline, Orochimaru did have a history of that kind of thing.

Not that Renzo recognized Boruto as canon. That wasn't his version of the Naruto world.

Actually, Renzo even planned that when Naruto and Hinata got married, he'd suggest some name ideas—just to make sure the whole Boruto thing never happens. The very thought of it just left a bad taste in his mouth.

"Sssss~ of course, of course," Orochimaru said, catching the body and storing it in his spatial ring. "I know my limits. Still... someone's already started casting Edo Tensei. Seems we've found the real reason behind all this."

He licked his lips.

"Figures Black Zetsu's behind it. Pain and the rest? Just pawns."

He chuckled. "Looks like even he realized Pain alone wouldn't be enough to beat you... so now he's planning to revive the real Uchiha Madara —or maybe even some of the old Kage."

"This is going to get interesting."

Renzo smirked. "We saw this coming a mile away. Honestly? I'm looking forward to it."

"It's about time we unified the entire ninja world anyway."

"I'm all for it," Orochimaru nodded. "If the nations unite, that'll open up more funding and freedom for the research division. Sounds great to me."

---

Outside the Takamagahara space

"Itachi-nii, where is everyone?" Naruto asked, scratching his head, clearly confused by everything that had just happened.

"Tch. Itachi is my brother, not yours, stupid Naruto," Sasuke snapped, already annoyed.

"Hah?! Stinky Sasuke, what's your problem? Me and Itachi-nii are tight! We're bonded by the sacred fate of big brothers!" Naruto shot back proudly, puffing out his chest. He remembered Kushina's words—he was going to be a big brother soon, after all.

"You little—!" Sasuke growled, fists clenched.

"Okay, okay, break it up, you two." Itachi stepped in, rubbing the bridge of his nose with a sigh. Why are these two always at each other's throats?

They were practically raised together. Kushina and Mikoto used to hang out almost every day, dragging Naruto and Sasuke along like twin tails on a mission.

Itachi couldn't help but think: Maybe they were born to argue… or maybe it's their way of getting closer?

Then, Sasuke smirked.

"Hey, stupid Naruto—how about this? Let's see who can take down more Sand ninjas today."

"Heh. You're on, emo face!" Naruto grinned wide, already charging up a Rasengan.

Itachi just shook his head again.

Some things never change.

Well, he would just have to protect them while sending clones to protect the village...

---

Swoosh!

At that moment, Minato reappeared beside them, having already finished off both Hidan and Kakuzu.

"I agree. The time is right," he said firmly. "Konoha and the Land of Fire are more than prepared. There's no point dragging this out any longer. Unity is our best move."

"And if someone else takes the blame for the war?" He smiled faintly. "Even better."

This wasn't a spur-of-the-moment decision. They'd planned and predicted this outcome long ago.

Minato might have had a gentle personality, but on this matter, he was completely in agreement.

The ninja world had been at war and chaos for far too long. Too many had died. It was time to end it.

And now, standing at the center of this historic moment—having the power to shape the future of the shinobi world—how could his blood not be burning with excitement?

...

Meanwhile, back on the battlefield...

Just as the Naraka Path reached Deva Path's ruined body and prepared to begin repairs, it activated its power—a massive, ghostly head emerged from the ground to begin swallowing the body.

"Absolute Zero."

Renzo-Clone #1 appeared silently behind it.

His hand landed on Naraka Path's shoulder—and before it could react, a wave of bone-chilling cold flooded its body.

In an instant, the entire puppet froze solid.

Renzo's clone stepped forward, casually collected Deva Path's remains, and teleported back to Renzo's side before dispelling itself.

BOOM!

Naraka Path shattered into glittering ice crystals, and the eerie spectral head vanished with it.

On the other side of the battlefield, Renzo-Clone #2 was taking on the other four Pains all at once.

His speed was terrifying—blurring between them faster than the eye could track.

SLASH—SLASH—SLASH—SLASH.

Before any of them could react, all four collapsed to the ground—lifeless and dismembered.

The Six Paths of Pain, once a force of terror, looked like helpless children against Renzo's clones.

Nagato, watching from afar, was stunned silent.

"So… he's really gotten this strong?"

"I've lost..."

He quickly activated his ring and sent a mental message to Konan.

"Konan—get out of there. Now."

But just as he did—

SPLURT!

Nagato suddenly coughed up a mouthful of blood.

Something inside him was… moving.

Trying to take control.

He resisted with everything he had, but it wasn't enough.

Bit by bit, he felt his consciousness being dragged down, crushed under a foreign will.

One last time, he sent another desperate message through the ring.

"Konan! Run! It's… Black Zetsu—!"

SPLAT!

Another mouthful of blood—and then, silence.

His body froze.

Black lines began spreading across his skin like veins of tar.

A thick, black substance swallowed half his body—and then...

POOF!

With a surge of chakra, Nagato vanished—snatched away by a reverse summoning.

"Nagato!"

Konan's heart clenched.

She lashed out to push Kurenai back and bolted toward the cave where Nagato was hiding.

"Looks like something happened to him."

Kurenai hadn't been going all out—and after a quick analysis of the situation, she put the pieces together.

She tapped her earpiece and sent Renzo a quick mental message, then took off after Konan at a steady pace.

...

Elsewhere on the battlefield, the rest of the fights were wrapping up.

The Akatsuki had been completely crushed.

None of them were dead—yet—but every single one was captured.

"Let me go, dammit!! You cowards! Come fight me for real!!"

"Shut up."

Hidan, who had been chopped into several bloody pieces and tied up like a bundle of logs, just wouldn't stop screaming.

Finally, Minato walked over and karate chopped him unconscious.

Thud.

Peace and quiet at last.
