Natsu and the others had gone for their short vacation, courtesy of the now re-instated 12 Zodiac leader, Leo the lion. Seeing that he was able to go back to his home in the spirit realm, he had given up a lot of his assets that he had compiled on Earthland.

And just as I predicted, Jerard had made the ultimate distraction for me.

"Extermination of the tamer demon now in control of several S class beasts" Cana read from the report and Karna groaned.

The demon supposedly had a taming ability with which it had tamed dozens of S class beasts and was using it to wreak havoc upon many places across the kingdom. And the council had nominated Karna Vermillion and Cana Alberona for the completion of this mission.

"I'm sure Gerard is behind this" Karna muttered, frustrated at what was happening.

"Well, you did say he will distract us with something, be glad it is direct. Plus, he has no idea that you know about his plans" Cana replied as she walked.

Karna nodded but was frustrated on the inside.

'What the hell is this!!, Jason warned me it was AU but most of it is only the increase in demons, in a way I should be glad but still it's a bit annoying, now a tamer demon, what's next a demon that has lightning attack which will aid Laxus in the terrorism he is going to commit later!!'

Karna monologued inside his mind in frustration and Cana giggled seeing his changing expressions. She stretched her arm and smacked the back of his head.

"Ouch. What was that for" Cana had also physically trained with Karna all these years, which combined with the talent from her father had boosted her physical stats to almost equal Karna's without any enhancements. So technically that smack hurts a lot.

"As much as I like to see all the cute expressions you make while monologing on the inside, its better if we finish this demon and go to support our friends" Can reminded him to focus on the important things now.

Karna nodded as suddenly the system formed in front of him.

Karna looked at the mentioned reward in surprise. It had never given something like this before. But it seems like there is a reason for him to complete this quest.

"Its nearby" Cana said as she suddenly appeared.

"Got it, lets get his correct location and I will make sure to take him out in a single shot and end this quickly" Karna said as Cana once again disappeared using the snake talisman.

Karna and Cana were currently near the makeshift camp created by the demon in the deeper part of the forest. From the information both of them collected from the nearby villages, the demon can control as many creatures as he wants but because of this, he has a habit of not taking care of the one's he had tamed and mostly ends up killing a lot of them himself. So, he usually goes into the forest and comes back after a few weeks, after capturing more beasts for it to control.

Within a few hours, Cana found the demon sitting in front of a campfire and signalled to Karna using the heart tattoo that connected them.

Cana was highly familiar with calculating direction, so she easily found out the distance between Karna and the Demon and signalled to Karna where the demons head will be.

Karna brought out his bow and created a death arrow, intending to end the demon in a single strike without any mercy whatsoever.

It only took a few seconds for him to shoot the arrow, then he waited for the sound of the arrow hitting the target.

'why didn't it hit yet.'

SHUCK!!!

The sound of the arrow hitting came, but Karna knew that something was wrong. He had calculated everything including the time of impact, but the sound came two seconds late. He knew something was wrong. He felt like the hair on the back of his neck was standing up.

He immediately signalled Cana to activate her armour.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMM!!!!!

The explosion spread across a total of two kilometres taking out almost everything in that radius. While two people looked at it from a small mountain that was a few more kilometres away.

"Tell the contractor that both of them are dead" said the person holding the binoculars as he watched the ashes and smoke left from the explosion spread out.

"Yes sir" the other person replied and started using a scroll for communication.

"Genius of the century, Fairy Tactician all of it is nothing when you die" the man scoffed as he saw the rising smoke.

"I have contacted the HQ sir; they have promptly called us back to the R tower to take care of the rest of them in our way."

"At the end of the day we will be the victors, and we will bring back our master from death and let the world feel his rise again."

SHUCKK!!

The sudden sound startled both of them, turning behind, they saw an arrow which landed right behind them.

"Looks like a stray arrow that must have landed here due to the explosion" the person muttered while looking back to the front again.

"Shall we leave now sir" the subordinate asked.

"We will, we just need to go there and find something that belongs to them to take as a souvenir for our leader, we can use the arrow for one and if luck would have it, we might find something belonging to the female."

"And why do you want a souvenir."

"To mentally strike down Erza Scarlet before using her as a sacrifice" the man replied but he stopped.

The last question was not asked by his subordinate, it was somebody else.

Just as he was about to make a move, he felt a sharp object resting on his neck warning him to not to make any move.

"Let's have a chat shall we" Karna said with a smile that did not reach his eyes.
