Chapter 5: Chapter 5
It was morning.
Getting accustomed to his dorm room. It was more like a lavish bedroom with kitchen space, a compact bathroom, a small table and chair, and even a television.
Apparently, Reiri wouldn't let him live in the apartment Navi had gotten for him. According to the woman: "That way you wouldn't be quick to roll call."
On the other hand, this place also wasn't that bad.
Navi had already woken up early as usual and freshened up and made breakfast; he sat in his room to eat.
Though he had the option of going to the cafeteria, since even the instant noodles he was munching were Navi's handiwork, he had no choice.
However, as he'd begun eating, Navi came with a piece of information Mitsuya had no business knowing.
[Does master know?]
"Hmm?"
[Master can perform Hybrid Climax.]
"Hah!?"
Mitsuya had almost spit out the ramen he was eating and had even choked on it even.
"Cough—! Next time—cough—warn me before you give me that type of information."
He had said so, gulping down water before asking the AI to continue.
[Gladly]
Apparently, Navi had done her investigation and found out that the power used to power up the gears was the fundamental super luminal particles or rather, tachyon particles.
They were similar in the sense that the energy that the Gears use is born from the fundamental particles which are tachyons.
And what was the «Dimension Cross» good at manipulating?
Quantum mechanics.
Which on that note, the machine had a recycler that uses quantum entanglement and exotic field interactions to hold in tachyon particles.
"So, how does it relate to me being able to perform Hybrid Gear?"
[Very well then, I shall explain further.]
Since a passage exists within the Cross and him, which is the connection that enables him to manipulate a degraded form of Cross's Quantum Territory. In theory, he should be able to transfer energy from Cross.
On that note. To be able to use hybrid gears, one needs to have a core inside them that stores the energy and other necessities needed to operate the gears, which are—if you want to call them that—tachyons.
So, with that, he should be able to conduct the energy and pass it over to the gear users.
Navi had also predicted that the cores should be able to accept the energy and should be able to operate on them like it had always done.
"..."
"You just said a bunch of things, but to summarise it, I can use myself as an electricity conductor of sorts to transfer Cross's energy since he recycles tachyon for its energy."
[Master truly is wise.]
"Screw the praises; I've watched a lot of sci-fi to understand this, and even if in theory I should be able to do that, what are the effects on me?"
Mitsuya had asked while staring off into space.
In addition to the fact that Navi can interact with him through his phone, he also has a mini-chip by the sides of his forehead.
He'd have loved Navi to import the assistant terminal to the chip; however, Navi does not possess enough materials to carry that out.
And the chip was only made for communications and connection in the first place.
[...This act would also put a heavy burden on the master as if he is piloting Cross.]
"As expected, huh?"
Mitsuya had thought as he once again resumed eating. Not that he wanted the responsibility in the first place.
As a world hopper, he wasn't sure if he'd ever return to a world he'd once visited, and there was no reason to tie himself to one.
"By the way, don't tell me…"
There was a reason why Navi had told him such information.
[....]
"Haah. What else do you know?"
[Yes. Master. Currently, according to the records Navi compiled, residents of the AU can completely bypass Lemuria's technology.
Hearing that, Mitsuya nodded.
This was consistent with the knowledge he knew about this world.
[Navi can pinpoint their locations whenever they're in the vicinity of Navi's influence.]
"As expected of you, partner."
Mitsuya said with a smile, praising the AI.
[This is what Navi should do.]
Packing his things, Mitsuya had headed out of his room straight to the main campus.
Of course, along the way…
"Hey, look over there."
"Isn't he—"
"Yeah, Tsukuyomi's…"
He got attention. But of course, there was no escaping it.
In fact, saying this was a school was just pretence. They weren't studying anything notable other than how to fight against the AU.
No, there were other courses too in relation.
Engineering, scientists, and other occupations.
But pushing everything aside. The entire military academy was like a higher institution, if anything.
Smooth paved roads, arrays of grass arranged in an orderly manner, with buildings and roadways that led to the main building.
There were also the buildings on the sides and even those behind.
However, on his way towards his class, he'd bumped into someone oddly familiar.
"Hello, Ms. Yurishia."
Mitsuya let out a smile at her, "Hello, Kimitsuki-san." She'd also replied with a polite smile, but she still felt a twinge of irritation when she looked at him.
At the same time.
"Hmm. Why are you both standing in a daze for stupidly?"
Cutting in was a beautiful, white-skinned young woman with below-the-knee-length silver hair, red eyes that have long eyelashes, glossy pink lips, and a voluptuous, trained body.
"Sorry—"
"Oh, it's you."
She then moved closer to him; he was quite tall, at around 172 cm, shorter than him in that regard.
"You. Have a spar with me."
She had declared it like that, leaving Mitsuya and Yurishia wide-eyed.
"Uhm. Ms…?"
Mitsuya pretended, corking his head to the sides with a confused smile as he said that.
"Aine. That's my name. Now then, will you fight me?"
He knew of her personality quite well, the arrogant, stubborn type who isn't quick to admit her true feelings.
Such a person, he didn't want to deal with. However, if she was asking for a fight, then who is he to refuse?
"Although it's quite rude to ask of that so early in the morning, however, I'll humour you. Naturally, that's, of course, if the commander would allow it."
At this point, he'd unknowingly attracted attention from everyone in the hallway at that moment.
