Multiverse Cross Ex

Chapter 10: Chapter 10

It was a new morning.

The morning sun filtered into his room, through the curtains, carrying fresh scent of early morning dew into the room.

By yesterday, the ruckus would have died down, and people were starting to adjust to their new, powerful addition.

In his room, Mitsuya slowly opened his eyes.

His body felt heavy.

"…To wake up this late—even for me, there's a limit to slacking off."

What came was a voice. And about 30 cm in front of his face, a pair of red eyes stared straight at him.

It was Chidorigafuchi Aine.

She was lying on her stomach, perched above his futon, still in her uniform.

The first thought that ran through Mitsuya's mind was— 'Navi. Status report.'

Mitsuya could communicate with Navi through a form of telepathic transmission.

Though technically, it functioned by transmitting specialized signals from his brain, which the AI would then interpret.

A feature made possible by the hidden mini-chip embedded at the side of his head which was covered by his hair.

[...]

[Yes. Navi was aware of the entire situation. However, the individual in question possesses no ill intent towards Master, so I allowed it.]

'Ugh… I don't know whether to praise you or scold you.'

[Master does not need to praise me.]

Mitsuya sighed before shifting his gaze back to the girl in front of him.

"…What are you doing here so early in the morning, Ms. Aine?"

Mitsuya said, running his hands through his hair as he looked at her.

"I have come to your room to make love with you."

Hearing that, Mitsuya blinked, then he clicked his tongue.

"While I appreciate the straightforwardness, however, this isn't ladylike."

He'd suspected something like this might eventually happen.

But it did.

Now that he thinks about it.

'Navi. What are the chances that Commander would still bring her brother over?'

[Probability has been reduced drastically. However, Navi can estimate the commander would immediately rely on Master. It wouldn't be after the Commander is sure Master can take up his role.

'However, because of my supposed limit, I'd say it's still even. However, my method is more efficient, no?'

"What? Cat got your tongue?"

As he'd been thinking, Aine had then positioned herself on top of him, straddling him.

"You're asking to be assaulted, Ms."

However, as though having a bad sense of humour, she nodded as she began to unbutton her shirt.

"You—"

"So you can't even say a word. I wonder if, far from being excited, you are now already becoming an animal in mating season instead?"

"Humans don't have that. But if that's what you want, then allow me to indulge."

As he said that, all of a sudden, their positions had been reversed.

It had happened in an instant.

Aine was suddenly pinned against the bed, her back sinking into the mattress.

Mitsuya's left hand pressed firmly against her shoulder, while his right hand pinned her wrist down against the sheets.

"See. As I thought. A beast."

Yet, as she said that, he'd ignored her words.

Looking at the clock beside the pillow, the time was already 8 o'clock.

So, he'd slept for that long?

Normally, Navi should have woken him up. However, did Navi….

'Navi?'

[Navi believed it would be rude to disturb Master as of that moment; hence, Navi didn't interrupt.]

Well, he'd been pushing himself far the past few days so it was probably for the best he'd overslept.

With that in mind. Mitsuya sighed internally.

'... Still, thanks for the pass.'

"I see… So you like it this way, huh? I'm ready. Do to me as you like."

Aine spoke words he really didn't want to address.

He already knew she was this straightforward.

But even with him? That felt… off. Or was it because he wasn't used to this closeness from a female?

Yet, even with that, his thoughts were in other places.

'Navi. Run a side-by-side simulation—compare Transference and Climax Hybrid. Are there any similarities?'

[Analysis complete: Climax Hybrid and Transference exhibit a 100% match in identified signal waves. However, Transference energy output is significantly stronger and may result in side effects such as—]

'Getting drunk on it…'

That made sense.

No—no, no. While he knew that Climax Hybrid was a necessary act for them to recharge their Hybrid Gear…

The fact that, after doing it once, they never hesitated to try again meant that, on some level…

They were hooked on the feeling, and the energy transfer.

And if he recalled correctly, there was some theory about emotional bonding—some whatnot explanation that probably wasn't even scientifically sound.

But still—

Yes. It was very possible that Aine could develop an addiction to his even more potent energy transfer.

If This Were the Case…

"Tell me, how good must it have been for you to come back for more?"

Aine shuddered as she felt his fingers brush against her lips.

For some reason, she couldn't move a muscle.

He must have used «Territory» to bind her in place. And she couldn't help but tremble under his grip.

Like he thought, she was all bark and no bite.

Even now, he could see it. Her heartbeat had spiked—she was nervous. Of course, she would be.

With a soft sigh, he pulled away.

"Since your Hybrid Count is already full, there's no need for Transference right now."

He flicked her forehead lightly, making her head tilt to the side, before stepping off the bed and stretching his arms.

Well, it didn't really matter if he was late or not.

Who would have believed that in just a day or two, he had gone from being an Otherworlder to the commander of a new force?

And from that, to becoming an affiliate of Laboratory with lots of classified files and equipments.

Not that Navi didn't already have the classified Files to begin with.

Regardless, with this, his plans could now solidify with far less hassle.

[...]

Meanwhile, Aine had sat up in bed, watching him silently.

Was her seduction ineffective? Wrong. It worked.

It was just that it would take more than an attempt like this to move him.

Sure, he was still a healthy teenager. But considering how uncertain his future was as a Dimensional Traveler…

It was obvious why he would hesitate.

Besides, he didn't like being tied down. That was why he had pulled away.

But if he made it clear to her, and she still accepted, then he wasn't to be blamed.

However…

'Dealing with those two, huh…'
