Chapter 14: MCSDB Chapter 14 Kakarot is Born
After visiting Gine at the logistics center, Jiang Chen returned home.
Over the next few days, Jiang Chen had some rare free time. Apart from maintaining his gravity training, he took a break from everything else. It wasn't until five days later that he hurriedly made his way back to the Planet Vegeta Logistics Center, to the maternity and infant care center.
At this point, rows of Saiyan-themed maternity pods were already visible.
Inside the pods, there were several Saiyan infants.
Jiang Chen quickly spotted Bardock and Gine.
"Bardock Oji San!"
"Gine Oba San!"
Jiang Chen quickly ran over.
"Aspara Chan, you're here!"
Gine was no longer in a weakened state. The Saiyan physique was surprisingly strong, and even after giving birth, she had recovered quickly.
"Mm-hmm!"
Jiang Chen nodded quickly, but his gaze naturally shifted toward the maternity pod in front of them.
Inside it lay a tiny baby with a crab-like head, with a round, chubby body.
"Is this Kakarot?" Jiang Chen asked curiously.
"Yes, this is Kakarot. He's as quiet as you, Aspara!" Gine said excitedly.
"Mm-hmm!" Jiang Chen smiled and nodded.
However, while they were talking, there was suddenly a commotion in the nursery room.
"What's going on?" Bardock grabbed one of the aliens, frowning as he spoke.
"Bardock Sama?" The alien, irritated by being grabbed, quickly noticed it was Bardock and immediately became respectful.
"What's going on?" Bardock asked again.
"Bardock Sama, it's from area A. Apparently, a Saiyan baby's Battle Power was too high, and it caused the maternity pod to explode."
The alien explained hastily.
"Battle Power too high? The maternity pod exploded?" Bardock's pupils widened in surprise.
The maternity pods for Saiyan infants were made of special materials. Even if a Saiyan's Battle Power reached two or three thousand, it shouldn't have been able to destroy the pod. But now, it had exploded because of a baby?
"Yes, yes!" The alien quickly affirmed.
Bardock then let go of the alien.
The alien breathed a sigh of relief and quickly ran off.
"Let's go, let's check it out!" Bardock thought for a moment, then turned to speak to Jiang Chen and Gine.
"I'll stay here. You two go," Gine said, shaking her head with a smile.
"Alright!"
Bardock nodded and then gestured for Jiang Chen to follow him.
"Okay!"
Jiang Chen's heart stirred as he followed, but his gaze lingered on Kakarot for a moment. His brow furrowed slightly, his expression filled with doubt.
But despite his curiosity, he still followed Bardock.
Before they could enter area A, however, a group of Saiyans had already sealed it off.
What made Bardock tense was that these Saiyans were all part of the Royal Palace's elite guards.
"Bardock Sama!"
As Bardock approached, the Royal Palace's elite guards tensed up and quickly bowed.
On Planet Vegeta, the expert was respected, and Bardock's Battle Power, nearing 10,000, commanded the respect of these Royal Palace guards.
"What's going on?" Bardock asked, his brow furrowing.
"Bardock Sama, the maternity pod was attacked by the Tuffles. The King has dealt with it and is now ordering us to strictly guard it to prevent any further accidents," A Saiyan guard respectfully explained.
"Tuffles?" Bardock paused, instinctively speaking the name.
"Yes," The guard affirmed. "But it's been taken care of."
"Wasn't there a Saiyan baby born with a high Battle Power?" Bardock asked in surprise.
"Bardock Sama, that was a system malfunction; the Tuffles sabotaged the maternity system," The guard quickly clarified.
"I see," Bardock nodded. "Since it's resolved, let's move on."
"Let's go, Aspara!"
Bardock gestured for Jiang Chen to follow.
Jiang Chen didn't say anything and walked along with Bardock as they left.
"I didn't expect those Tuffles to resurface like this, even managing to hide in the nursery," Bardock said, his brow furrowing. His expression was heavy with concern— his young son was still in the nursery, and he couldn't help but worry.
"Bardock Oji San, do you really think the Tuffles have the ability to infiltrate the nursery?" Jiang Chen suddenly asked.
"Hm?" Bardock looked at him, surprised and confused.
"From what I know, the Tuffles should have been destroyed by now. They shouldn't have the ability to infiltrate the nursery. And even if they could, what would be the point of destroying it? To wipe out the Saiyans?" Jiang Chen continued.
"The nursery is divided into five separate areas, and they don't connect. Unless they have an entire Energy of Destruction at their disposal, it wouldn't make any sense. And I didn't see any signs of a battle."
Jiang Chen paused before speaking again. He didn't believe a word of what the Saiyan had said earlier.
The Tuffles were an intelligent and highly civilized race. In the original Dragon Ball, they hardly played a role, and while their existence is mentioned in Dragon Ball GT, that's set many years later. The chance of the Tuffles causing trouble now seemed nearly impossible—or nonexistent.
"You're saying, it wasn't the Tuffles?" Bardock asked, confused.
"It's highly likely," Jiang Chen nodded. "The alien just mentioned a baby with too high a Battle Power, right?"
Jiang Chen thought for a moment, then spoke slowly.
At that moment, he recalled a figure— one who had never appeared in the main Dragon Ball timeline, but was later incorporated into the story: the legendary Super Saiyan, Broly.
In both the new and old versions of Dragon Ball, this character existed.
And in either version, Broly fit the description of what the alien had just said.
More importantly, if it was Broly, everything made sense.
King Vegeta would never allow a threat like that to exist.
Bardock and King Vegeta had already begun to fear such a powerful being, to the point of using Raditz as a hostage to keep him close to King Vegeta. The last thing they would want is a baby with Battle Power that could rival King Vegeta himself.
The best option would be to eliminate Broly secretly, using the Tuffles as an excuse.
The only issue was that, if this world was the old timeline, Broly should be around Son Goku. But instead, he was in the completely unrelated Area A.
However, that possibility couldn't be ruled out.
Especially given what the alien had said—it seemed like even stronger evidence.
"This…" Upon hearing Jiang Chen's words, Bardock also frowned deeply.
