Chapter 206 Crystal Ball

The three of them sat around the altar, beginning to meticulously study the runes and patterns. They attempted to interpret them from different angles, using perception to intuitively feel, logic to deduce, and even trying to transcend conventional understanding without quantification.

However, the runes and patterns were exceedingly complex. Despite having studied for a long time, they were still unable to fully decode their meanings.

At that moment, Shen Jingqi suddenly noticed a rune in a corner of the altar that seemed different from the others. It flickered with a faint light, as if conveying some sort of message to them.

"Look here!" Shen Jingqi exclaimed, pointing to the rune, a tone of excitement in his voice. Li Baiyu and Renault, hearing this, immediately leaned over, eyes fixed intently on the rune.

They tried using different methods to interpret the rune, only to discover it seemed to be related to sound. Whenever they uttered certain syllables or melodies, the light from the rune would become brighter.

"Could it be... this is the key to activating the altar?" Shen Jingqi thought to himself with joy, immediately deciding to give it a try. He took a deep breath and began to hum an ancient battle song, matching the tune with specific syllables.

As he hummed, the light of the rune grew brighter and brighter, as if it was being activated. Simultaneously, the other runes and patterns on the altar also began to change, flashing dazzling lights and weaving magnificent pictures.

The three of them watched in awe, filled with shock and wonder.

Just then, a powerful force suddenly surged from the center of the altar, sweeping the three of them into its grip like a tornado. They felt a whirlwind of disorientation, darkness engulfing their vision, as if they were being drawn into an unknown space.

When they opened their eyes again, they found themselves in a brand new place. It was a huge palace, the walls of which were inscribed with runes and patterns similar to those on the altar, but more intricate and exquisite.

"Where... where are we?" stammered Li Baiyu, his eyes filled with confusion and fear. Renault also looked around, trying to find clues or an exit.

Shen Jingqi, however, remained calm, carefully observing every corner of the palace, attempting to find the connection between here and the altar. He believed that since they had arrived here via the altar, there must exist some way to return.

Suddenly, a beam of light illuminated the center of the palace, like a guiding lamp, lighting the path ahead. The three exchanged glances, a mysterious courage and determination welling up inside them.

They continued forward, the light growing brighter, seemingly leading them towards an unknown end point. The runes and patterns on the palace walls began to emit strange lights, resonating with their heartbeats, as if cheering for their bravery and determination.

Suddenly, they came to a massive stone door, covered with intricate runes, with a large keyhole in the center. Shen Jingqi pulled out an ancient jade pendant from his pocket, one he had found near the altar, and his intuition told him it was the key to unlocking the stone door.

He carefully inserted the jade pendant into the keyhole, and with a "click," the stone door slowly opened, revealing a passage leading to a deeper level.

They stepped into the passage, seeing ancient torches burning on either side, lighting the way forward. At the end of the passage was a huge circular room, with a crystal orb floating in the center, emitting strange lights as if containing endless wisdom and power.

"Is that... the source of the power?" exclaimed Li Baiyu, his eyes filled with shock and awe. Renault also stared wide-eyed, unable to believe what he was seeing.

Shen Jingqi remained calm, carefully observing the crystal orb, trying to find a method to control or utilize this power. He knew this power could be their salvation or destruction, the key lay in how it was mastered.

Just then, the crystal orb suddenly emitted an intense light, as dazzling as the sun, enveloping Shen Jingqi, Li Baiyu, and Renault entirely. They felt a powerful force flowing into their bodies, as if merging with their souls. They closed their eyes, immersing themselves in the power, sensing the changes and enlightenment it brought.

Shen Jingqi closed his eyes, immersed in the power. He felt as if his consciousness was being drawn by an invisible force, crossing into a mysterious and distant space. There, he saw countless twinkling stars, each representing a different wisdom and power. He tried to touch those stars, only to find himself seemingly caught in an invisible net, unable to truly reach them.

At that moment, a deep and dignified voice sounded in Shen Jingqi's ear: "You have grasped this power, but remember, power is not omnipotent. True wisdom lies in how to wield it, not being enslaved by it. Power is a double-edged sword, capable of creating miracles or causing destruction. You must learn to master it, not be mastered by it."

A sense of awe arose within Shen Jingqi, knowing he stood at a new beginning. The power was indeed formidable, but what was needed more was the wisdom and determination to control it. He took a deep breath, attempting to integrate the power into his soul, making it a part of himself.

Meanwhile, Li Baiyu and Renault were also immersed in the power. They felt an invisible force filling their bodies, every cell rejoicing. Their eyes gleamed with excitement and curiosity, seemingly eager to explore this new world.

As they were immersed in the power, that deep and imposing voice sounded again: "Now, return to the real world. Use what you have learned to create a better future. Remember, true power lies not in conquering others, but in conquering oneself. Only when you truly master your inner self can you master this power."

As the voice faded, the palace walls once again shimmered with strange lights. A mighty force engulfed the three of them, as if to take them back to that mysterious and distant space.

They felt a swirl of dizziness, darkness enveloping their vision.

When Shen Jingqi reopened his eyes, he found himself back in the Sand Chamber. The runes and patterns on the altar still flickered with faint light, as if recounting all that had just transpired. He took a deep breath, feeling the power within himself, a sensation new and unfamiliar.
