Chapter 189 Materials

Shen Jingqi was traversing an unknown primeval forest, with dense branches and leaves obscuring the sky, making it feel like he was in a dark world. Underfoot was slippery mud, and the occasional roar of wild beasts echoed in his ears. Every step was filled with the unknown and danger.

"Phew... finally found the area marked on the map." Shen Jingqi panted, the compass in his hand trembling slightly in the dim light. He knew his purpose this time: to find a mysterious fruit that could absorb the Heaven and Earth Spiritual Qi.

Suddenly, a huge black bear charged out of the bushes, its blood-red eyes fixed on Shen Jingqi. His heart tightened, and he quickly pulled a sharp dagger from his backpack.

"Get away!" Shen Jingqi shouted angrily, waving the dagger in front of his chest, trying to scare off the black bear. But the black bear was unmoved, approaching step by step.

At this critical moment, Shen Jingqi noticed a hidden cave entrance, faintly visible beneath dense vines. Inspired, he swiftly darted toward the entrance and nimbly squeezed inside. The black bear roared a few times outside the cave entrance, finally leaving in resignation.

Inside the cave, it was dim and lightless. Shen Jingqi turned on his flashlight, the beam piercing the darkness, revealing patches of rock and moss. He proceeded cautiously, sweeping the flashlight around, fearing he might miss something.

"Hiss..." A subtle sound came from ahead, making Shen Jingqi instantly alert, the flashlight beam halting on a giant python. The giant python was coiled on the rocks, its body spanning four or five meters, flicking its tongue and staring at Shen Jingqi.

Cold sweat seeped from Shen Jingqi's forehead. He quietly retrieved a tranquilizer gun from his backpack, aimed at the python's eyes, and decisively pulled the trigger.

The tranquilizer dart swiftly hit the python, causing it to twist in pain before collapsing limply to the ground. Shen Jingqi breathed a sigh of relief and continued deeper into the cave.

After a convoluted exploration, Shen Jingqi finally found the mysterious fruit in a small stone chamber. The fruit emitted a soft glow as if beckoning to him.

"This is the fruit I've been looking for!" Shen Jingqi rejoiced inwardly, carefully picking the fruit and placing it in his backpack. Just as he was about to leave, urgent footsteps sounded from the cave entrance.

"Damn, someone's coming!" Shen Jingqi's heart tightened as he hurriedly hid in a concealed corner. Several figures entered the cave, holding sharp knives and swords, clearly here to seize the fruit.

"Where is he? Find that kid, don't let him get away!" a rough voice shouted.

Shen Jingqi held his breath, trying not to make a sound. But at that moment, someone inadvertently discovered his hiding spot.

"There he is!" that person shouted in Shen Jingqi's direction.

Shen Jingqi knew he was exposed and leaped out of the corner, engaging them in a fierce fight. The dagger in his hand sliced through the air, blood splattering everywhere.

"You won't get the fruit!" Shen Jingqi roared, fighting with all his strength.

Meanwhile, in the distant underwater ruins, Li Baiyu was facing another thrilling adventure. He wore a diving suit, holding a flashlight, and dived into the dark sea depths.

"This mission must succeed," Li Baiyu silently recited, his gaze resolute. His goal was to find an ancient gemstone that could stabilize time and space.

The underwater ruins were dilapidated, coral reefs, and seaweed covering the ancient walls, giving a bizarre feeling. Li Baiyu swam cautiously, exploring with his flashlight.

Suddenly, a giant deep-sea monster lunged from the darkness, its gaping maw coming at him. Li Baiyu's heart jolted, swiftly dodging, but the flashlight was bitten through by the monster.

He immediately plunged into darkness, forced to rely on touch and hearing to judge direction. Li Baiyu took a deep breath, calming himself, and groped forward.

After a difficult search, Li Baiyu finally found a passage leading deep into the ruins. He mustered his courage and swam inside.

The passage was full of complex mechanisms and puzzles, requiring Li Baiyu to carefully solve each mechanism.

"This rune should be deciphered like this..." Li Baiyu muttered to himself, carefully studying the runes on the wall.

As he deciphered the last mechanism, a heavy stone door slowly opened, revealing a forgotten secret chamber. Li Baiyu swam into the chamber and discovered an ancient gemstone shimmering with strange light.

"Found it!" Li Baiyu rejoiced in his heart, swiftly taking the gemstone and putting it in his backpack. But before he could celebrate, he felt a powerful current surging from behind.

He turned to find the chamber's exit blocked by a huge rock.

On the other side, Shen Jingqi had been fighting fiercely for over ten minutes. With extraordinary courage and wit, he finally defeated the group one by one.

"You bunch, trying to take the fruit, it's not that easy!" Shen Jingqi panted, looking at the crowd lying on the ground.

He tidied his backpack, preparing to leave the cave. Just then, a faint tremor made him tense up.

"An earthquake? Impossible, how could there be an earthquake here?" Shen Jingqi wondered, quickly rushing out of the cave.

As soon as he stepped out of the entrance, he saw distant peaks starting to collapse, boulders rolling, dust flying.

He ran swiftly, behind him were collapsing peaks and rolling boulders. Just as he was about to be caught, a narrow valley appeared ahead.

"Get in!" Shen Jingqi plunged into the valley without hesitation, narrowly avoiding the falling boulders in the tight space.

After difficult trekking, Shen Jingqi finally emerged from the primeval forest, arriving at the rendezvous point. He looked up at the sky, realizing it was getting late.

"I wonder how Li Baiyu is doing over there..." Shen Jingqi thought, anxiously waiting.

In the underwater ruins, Li Baiyu was also racing against time. He discovered a small vent on the chamber wall, small but enough for him to squeeze through.

"Let's go for it!" Li Baiyu gritted his teeth, forcing himself into the vent. Inside the vent, it was narrow and dark, and he could only wriggle his body laboriously.

After a hard struggle, Li Baiyu finally crawled out of the vent, finding himself on the outskirts of the ruins. Ignoring the scrapes and pain, he quickly floated upwards and swam out of the underwater ruins.

When he surfaced, it was already evening. Li Baiyu was exhausted, but his heart was filled with joy.

"Finally succeeded!" he thought, looking at the gemstone in his hand.

Li Baiyu struggled to swim to the shore, and as soon as he got ashore, he saw Shen Jingqi in the distance.

"Shen Jingqi!" Li Baiyu shouted, running toward him.

Shen Jingqi heard the voice, looked up, saw it was Li Baiyu, and immediately met him.

"Are you alright? I was worried sick!" Shen Jingqi asked with concern.

"I'm fine, and you? How were things in the primeval forest?" Li Baiyu asked, panting.

"Went through a fierce battle, but fortunately, I made it." Shen Jingqi said, patting his backpack.
