Shen Jingqi and Li Baiyu looked at each other, not understanding what Mr. Lin meant.

"Time is a complex river, full of countless possibilities and variables," Mr. Lin explained. "Our responsibility at the Time Administration Bureau is to monitor and protect the stability of the timeline. But sometimes, we encounter problems that we cannot solve."

"Like what?" Li Baiyu asked curiously.

"Like a major disaster that is about to occur, one that we cannot predict or prevent." Mr. Lin sighed, "But you are different, you have the ability to travel through time. If you are willing to help us, we can change the future together."

A surge of excitement and pride filled Shen Jingqi's heart; they hadn't expected to shoulder such an important mission.

"We are willing to help!" Shen Jingqi said without hesitation.

Li Baiyu also nodded, indicating agreement.

Mr. Lin smiled at them, "Very good, your choice will determine the direction of the future. But remember, time is an irreversible river. Once you make a choice, you can't turn back."

Shen Jingqi and Li Baiyu felt a chill in their hearts, understanding what Mr. Lin's words meant.

In the days that followed, Shen Jingqi and Li Baiyu began receiving training and guidance from the Time Administration Bureau. They learned more about time and its skills, and understood more about the possibilities and challenges of the future.

They began attempting to traverse time and space, visiting different historical periods and future worlds in search of clues and solutions. Each crossing was filled with the unknown and danger, yet they never retreated.

They witnessed countless historical events and figures, and saw future developments and changes. They began to realize that time is not just a river, but more like a gigantic labyrinth. Every choice leads to a different ending, and their task is to find the best one.

After a tense and challenging training session, Shen Jingqi and Li Baiyu finally received their first official mission: to travel to distant Ancient Egypt in search of a lost treasure. The treasure is said to hold key information that could influence the development of future technology, its importance cannot be overstated.

They stood at the door of the time machine, filled with anticipation and a hint of nervousness. Shen Jingqi took a deep breath, trying to calm his whirling thoughts. He turned to look at Li Baiyu beside him, his eyes revealing determination and trust: "Are you ready? We're about to travel to Ancient Egypt thousands of years ago."

Li Baiyu smiled and nodded, his eyes shining with excitement and curiosity: "Of course, I can't wait to see the glory of Ancient Egypt. I've heard that the pyramids and temples there are breathtakingly beautiful, and those mysterious pharaohs and priests—they're thrilling just to think about."

Shen Jingqi also smiled and patted Li Baiyu's shoulder: "Alright, don't get excited too early. We're here for treasure hunting, not tourism. Keep your guard up; we never know what dangers await."

The two then stepped simultaneously into the doorway of the time machine. The door slowly closed, and the surroundings began to twist and change, as if they were being sucked into an endless vortex of time and space. Shen Jingqi felt a strong sense of weightlessness, the wind howling in his ears, flashes of light in his eyes; he tightly gripped the strap of his backpack, chanting silently, "We must arrive safely."

When they opened their eyes again, they found themselves in a completely unfamiliar world. The golden sunlight poured over the endless yellow sands, and in the distance stood towering pyramids and magnificent temples, everything appearing so mysterious and ancient. They looked down at themselves and realized that they were wearing Ancient Egyptian clothing, completely blending into this world.

Shen Jingqi surveyed his surroundings in awe. He saw those buildings and scenes that had appeared countless times in history textbooks, now standing in them himself, feeling like a dream.

Li Baiyu was filled with awe and emotion in his eyes: "Yes, this is Ancient Egypt. It witnessed the splendor and mystery of human civilization, every corner filled with the weight of history. Are we really going to search for that lost treasure here?"

Shen Jingqi nodded: "That's right, this is our mission. Let's go; we already have some clues. As long as we follow these clues, I'm sure we can find the treasure."

The two began their treasure hunting journey. Based on the clues, they arrived at the depths of a forgotten temple. This temple seemed long abandoned, with moss-covered walls and floors full of sand and dust.

They proceeded with caution, each step filled with vigilance. The temple was filled with various traps and puzzles, a slight carelessness and they could fall into inescapable danger.

"Look, there's a mechanism here." Shen Jingqi pointed to a groove on the wall. He observed it carefully for a moment, then pressed down hard. With a "click," a hidden door slowly opened, revealing a passage to the next level.

An hour later, they arrived at the location of the treasure. It was a huge secret chamber, filled with gold, silver, and precious artifacts. The treasures shone with an alluring glow, dazzling to the eyes. But among these treasures, an inconspicuous stone box caught their attention.

The stone box didn't look luxurious, even seeming a bit shabby. But it emitted a mysterious aura, compelling one to open it. Shen Jingqi and Li Baiyu exchanged a look, then simultaneously reached out their hands.

They gently opened the stone box, finding inside a stone slab engraved with mysterious symbols. The symbols on the slab appeared ancient and complex, as if harboring some profound meaning. Shen Jingqi looked at the symbols on the slab, a strange sense of familiarity welling up in his heart.

"These symbols... I've seen them somewhere before," he murmured, brow furrowed, trying to recall the origin of these symbols.

Li Baiyu leaned over to take a look, a hint of surprise and excitement flashing in his eyes: "These symbols... I've seen them somewhere too! Wait, I remember! This is the blueprint for future technology! We've found it!"

The two carefully put away the stone slab, preparing to leave the secret chamber. However, just as they turned around, the temple's alarm suddenly went off. A rush of footsteps approached, and a group of armored soldiers burst in.

"Oh no, we've been discovered!" Shen Jingqi's expression changed, reacting quickly. He grabbed Li Baiyu's hand and ran toward another exit of the chamber.

The soldiers, seeing this, immediately gave chase. They brandished their weapons, shouting, "Catch them! Don't let them escape!"

Shen Jingqi and Li Baiyu engaged in an intense chase within the temple. They dashed through narrow passages and chambers, using the terrain and mechanisms to hinder the soldiers' pursuit.

"Quick! There's a hidden door over there!" Shen Jingqi pointed to a wall ahead. He pushed the hidden door open with force, pulling Li Baiyu through.
