Chapter 159 Shadow
"Not good, it's about to collapse here!" Shen Jingqi thought to himself in alarm.
He quickly made a decision and rushed toward the glowing portal. At the last moment, he turned to look at the blurry figure and silently thought, "Sorry, I have to leave."
A faint light appeared in the sky. His heart skipped a beat, and he quickly ran towards it. However, as he approached the light, he was surprised to find that it was actually a virtual portal!
The shadow nodded: "That's right, this is the gateway to the outside world. You only need to pass through it to return to the real world."
Shen Jingqi felt a surge of excitement and hurried to the portal, preparing to cross through. However, just then, he suddenly thought of something: "Wait, why are you here? Are you also trapped here?"
The shadow shook its head: "No, I stayed here voluntarily. This is my world."
Shen Jingqi felt a wave of confusion: "Your world? What does that mean?"
The shadow smiled slightly: "Shen Jingqi, do you know? This world is composed of mirrors. Each of us is a part of the mirror, connected by various streams of information. And I am the Guardian of this world."
Shen Jingqi's eyes widened: "Guardian? Are you saying you've been protecting this world all along?"
The shadow nodded: "That's right. This world is the foundation of our existence. If this world is destroyed, then we will also not survive."
Just then, Shen Jingqi suddenly felt a strong vibration behind him. He turned around and saw the transparent glass rapidly shattering! He was shocked and quickly rushed towards the portal. However, at that moment, a powerful force pulled him backward!
Shen Jingqi clenched his fists tightly, using all his strength to struggle. He felt as if he was fighting against the entire digital world, but he was unwilling to give up. He knew he couldn't just be swallowed up like that!
Finally, at the last moment, he successfully broke free from the invisible force. He darted forward and passed through that virtual portal!
When he opened his eyes again, he found himself standing on the rooftop of a tall building. He looked down to see a bustling cityscape below.
After passing through the portal, he felt a sense of vertigo.
He closed his eyes to steady himself.
When he opened his eyes again, he found himself standing on the top floor of the building, facing familiar corridors and stairs.
He took a deep breath, feeling the atmosphere in the air.
He looked down at the phone in his hand, the screen still displaying that unknown message: "Remember, Shen Jingqi, no matter what choices you make, face your own shadow bravely. Because that's where your true strength lies."
Shen Jingqi held the phone tightly.
At that moment, he suddenly felt a slight vibration underfoot.
He looked down and found himself standing on a transparent glass! He widened his eyes in terror, unable to believe what he was seeing.
He was actually trapped in the air, beneath was a dense sea of information strips, like a vast digital ocean.
Shen Jingqi's mind went blank, completely unable to comprehend what was happening. Was this a dream? Or a manifestation of some supernatural phenomenon? He pinched his arm hard, the pain making him realize this was not a dream.
He closed his eyes, trying to calm himself down. Yet, when he opened his eyes again, he found himself still standing on that transparent glass, unchanged.
He took a deep breath, mustering his courage to look down. He saw those information strips flowing like streams, interwoven into a complex network. He carefully observed these information strips, trying to find some pattern or clue.
Just then, he suddenly noticed a faint light flashing on one of the information strips. His heart stirred, and he quickly leaned in for a closer look.
It read: "Neuron signal anomaly." He frowned, not understanding what this meant.
He tried to take a picture of the information strip with his phone, but it ran out of battery. With a sigh of resignation, he had to give up the idea. He looked around, hoping to find other tools or items he could use. However, this empty room had nothing but the transparent glass and the floor beneath his feet.
Shen Jingqi felt an unprecedented sense of despair and helplessness. He closed his eyes, silently praying for a miracle to happen.
At that moment, he suddenly heard a faint sound in his ears. He opened his eyes suddenly, only to see a dark shadow flash before him. Startled, he quickly gave chase. However, that shadow seemed ghostly, disappearing into the darkness in an instant.
Shen Jingqi did not give up; he continued to pursue the shadow. He passed through room after room, turned corner after corner, yet he could never catch up with that shadow.
Just as he was about to give up, the shadow suddenly appeared in front of him. He widened his eyes, staring intently at the shadow. The shadow slowly turned around, revealing a blurred face. That face seemed shrouded in mist, making it impossible to see its true appearance.
"Who are you?" Shen Jingqi asked nervously.
The shadow did not answer, standing there silently. Shen Jingqi felt a chill and couldn't help but take a step back. However, at that moment, the shadow suddenly disappeared!
Shen Jingqi stood there stunned, completely unable to understand what had just happened. Who was that shadow after all? Why did it appear here? And why did it suddenly vanish? These questions swirled in his mind, preventing him from thinking about anything else.
He sighed helplessly and decided to continue looking for a way to escape. He walked through hallways, entered room after room. However, wherever he went, it felt like being in a maze, unable to find an exit.
At that moment, he suddenly heard a familiar voice in his ear: "Shen Jingqi, you're here, I finally found you."
Shen Jingqi turned around abruptly, seeing a person dressed in white not far away. He took a closer look, surprised to find that it was Yang Haotian!
"Haotian? How are you here?" Shen Jingqi asked in disbelief.
Yang Haotian smiled and walked over, patting him on the shoulder: "I've been waiting for you. I knew you would come looking for me."
Shen Jingqi felt puzzled: "Wait, what does this mean? How did you know I would come here?"
"You called me, telling me to find you."
"But didn't you say the address didn't exist? Why did you come then?"
