Zhuang Liu asked, “Is the state also involved in this?” If so, that would be a bigger problem.

He started to get chummy with Prince Laka, “Prince Laka, how did you meet Mr. Lin?”

Prince Laka said, “Lin and I were university classmates, then Lin knew many languages, so my dad spent a lot of money to hire him as my translator.”

Tan Rou felt that Prince Laka’s statement differed slightly from Lin’s. Tan Rou and Zhuang Liu exchanged glances, then she whispered, “The way Lin described it and the way Prince Laka described it are a bit different. If I guess right, the person actually paying Lin’s salary must be Prince Laka’s father, the supreme ruler of Country J.”

If Lin was really acting on orders from the King of Country J, then the deal between Tan Rou and Prince Laka needed to be reconsidered.
