Chapter 66: Running a Fever
The driver slowly reduced the car's speed.
Zhao Yuexiu lifted her eyes from her smartphone and glanced at Chi Guiyi, noticing her slumped posture and lack of energy, similar to those spoiled rich kids who stayed out all night. Her expression turned colder. "She's not even going back to the Chi Family, so why pick her up?"
The driver stepped on the gas and sped up further.
The taxi slowly stopped in front of Chi Gui.
Xing Gu respectfully helped her open the car door, giving a faint glance in the direction of the Chi Family's departing car.
Chi Gui got into the car, feeling her eyelids heavy. She put away her smartphone, "I'm going to sleep for a bit; wake me up when we arrive."
"Okay." Xing Gu, seated in the front passenger seat, nodded.
Chi Gui closed her eyes.

"Wait for You" Medical Supplies Store.
Qin Cheng carefully handed the documents to Fu Si, hardly daring to breathe, "Mr. Fu, this is all of it. Are you going to personally handle this matter in the Capital City or..."
Fu Si lay on the lounge chair by the window, his slender fingers slowly flipping through the documents. After a while, he chuckled lightly and casually tossed the papers onto the table.
"These people sure are bold." He got up from the lounge chair, stretched lazily, his slightly upturned phoenix eyes sharp and black as if containing unfathomable depths. "I'll take a trip to the Capital City tonight and return by eight tomorrow morning."
"So urgent?" Qin Cheng was a bit surprised; it would take at least four hours round trip by plane, leaving virtually no time to rest. "Do you have some urgent matter here?"
"Of course." Fu Si smiled, pushing his glasses up with his middle finger, "If I'm late, I won't get to eat Chi's breakfast made with her own hands."
Qin Cheng,...
Fu Si lazily walked out, "Have the groceries bought for Chi been delivered?"
"Yes." Qin Cheng was somewhat speechless but didn't dare show it, "We bought a bit of everything. I consulted the Fu Family's nutritionist; these ingredients offer the best nutritional balance."
Fu Si was satisfied, "And the note I wrote? Was it attached?"
Qin Cheng was even more speechless, "Yes, it's attached..."

Chi Gui returned home, her heavy eyelids drooping as she went upstairs. She noticed a key and a note stuck to the wall:
[Chi, the groceries I bought for you are in my fridge, help yourself~]
The message itself was fine, but underneath it was a cute cartoon drawing of Fu Si, striking an exaggerated flying kiss pose.
Xing Gu,...
Chi Gui tore down the note with an expressionless face and said to Xing Gu, "Go get them."
Xing Gu was very surprised, "Really, you want to take them?"
Had Professor Chi and Mr. Fu become this close?
Chi Gui, holding the key and opening the door, responded calmly, "There's a fifty percent discount on medical supplies and a hundred bucks worth of groceries; why wouldn't I take them?"
Xing Gu,...
He suddenly felt like he had never truly known Professor Chi before.
But this version of Professor Chi felt less like an unattainable flower and more down-to-earth.
Xing Gu came back with the groceries and left.
Chi Gui instructed Little Guai to categorize and put the groceries in the fridge, but having no energy to cook, she just heated up a cup of milk and then lay down to sleep.
The next morning.
Chi Gui woke up feeling her throat burning and her whole body weak and sluggish.
Her head also felt slightly dizzy.
She frowned, *This must be because I slept in the classroom yesterday and caught a chill, then got rained on, resulting in a cold and a mild fever.*
*When she was a doctor, she used to be so busy she wouldn't even notice her symptoms until the fever had subsided.*
Chi Gui didn't think much of the mild fever, got up, took two fever-reducing pills, and was just about to head to the kitchen to cook when the doorbell suddenly rang.
